Original Wheels

Guys, I know it’s a beginner’s question, but when I try to save the design, the wheels aren’t saved, and they look original. Am I doing something wrong?

thks

The wheels are part of the tune, not the livery. You can save and share a tune with the correct visual items like wheels, aero etc., but unfortunately that isn’t specifically tied to the livery. I often will have a corresponding tune to go with my replica liveries using the same name, and mention in the comment that a tune is to go with a livery and vice versa, but it’s not ideal, and the user can’t change the tune.

It would be nice to attach a visual tune to go with a livery but that isn’t currently possible.

Yes as it was also mentioned above…, the wheels are part of the tune, but it also can be set for livery design purpose (without the tune), but you’ll need the exact steps so it will appears on the display when sharing your design like mine for example as follow;

Here’s how I choose my wheels and other stuff for paint and/or livery design purpose;

  1. Buy and install the wheels and other things like lowering kit suspension wings etc to the car, and then set how you want it to appears like big or wide rims, low ride setup or high ride setup for rally etc

  2. Go to paint job, paint your car, wheels, tint etc

  3. Now go to apply vinyls and decals for the last step before sharing your design, for me this is the main area I work when making wraps design.

For making paint or wrap design purpose, whatever you do 1st… it doesn’t really matter as long as you haven’t share your paint or wrap design, you can always go back and forth to change your wheels wing etc, change your base paint hood mirror etc…, but the last step that needs to be saved before sharing your paint or wrap design is by going to the Apply Vinyls and Decals section and make minimum 1 change or adjustment and then save it…

So for example let’s say you are ready to share one of your wrap designs but suddenly you think it’s not the right rims model or color for your final wrap design, then go ahead change your rims, and or go to paint job area to change the color you’d like to change, but if you do this then you need to go back to the Apply Vinyls and Decals section to make minimum change as well and then save it as its last step, otherwise if you don’t do this, whatever change you made won’t be shown up in your creative hub design display, it will be shown with stock rims and stock suspension setup as you mentioned it above that… they look original… or stock…

Tips:

  1. Once you shared your paint or wrap design, you can check it through your creative hub and design menu what it looks like, but this will only available for your first 252 (most downloaded used and liked combined) designs, the rest will not be shown here, for that you’ll need to go through Find New Designs menu and use advance search and type in your GT in the creator’s name box and set the car as current car or any car you have designed…

  2. Once you shared your paint or wrap design, the link between your paint or wrap designs at your creative hub design menu are connected to the ones in your designs menu, the ones shown in your creative hub will be the display that people will see, but the ones in your design menu will only be available to you as the creator and it shown without the rims and suspension you have set it up as is appear in your creative hub.

  3. Once you shared your paint or wrap design, the link between the two above will be disconnected if you made change and save it while you’re in your current car using your own paint or wrap design you have shared, if you want them to stay connected and you want to make new paint or wrap design based on the current one… save it by using save as option, otherwise it will override it and it become disconnected to the one you shared as it shown in your creative hub as this is will be a new separate design from that.

Alright then… I guess that’s all about making paint or wrap design and how to display them as you would like it to be… have fun in making your new design :smiley:

Hello, very good advice PapaEmy thank you, I am still learning painting and very much enjoy, I just thought I would add that now I take my finished car for a ride outside to look for mistakes that don’t always show up while painting at the Horizon festival due to the glare, and painting at the house is not enough light at times. But I will find the mistakes in the sun or good light outside. When I am happy after doing all the steps you advice above I share. Thank you.
