Enjoying the Stock Trials. Enjoy the competition since is skill based and not meta car based.
Would like the same kind of mode in Online racing. It can be like Open Racing with mixed modes and classes but everyone uses the same stock car. It would be a good way to experience the vast library of different cars and not see the same OP cars all the time in online racing.
Mazda Miata, Ferrari F40c, Cobra 427 S/C, Caterham, Porsche 911 and Renault Clio could be some nice rotating stock open lobbies.
One thing I really loved about the original Forza Horizon was the Pure Skill playlist which was just that; online racing in stock cars. Everyone has the same car may the best guy win. I sunk a ton of hours into these races, had so much fun, and improved immensely. The online racing has definitely been dulled down over the last few games and I would love to see it expanded upon.
I’m absoluty agree! I think this option open and expand the experience un Forza Horizon 5 for Drive more Cars and not use always the same. Stock car races can be a great idea and a good race mode

I think those of us who are part of this community consider this game and the saga to be one of the best in history in the simcade category. Not only do we race to compete, but it allows us to explore, drive around in our favourite cars, drift, collect and every week we are given new tests to win new cars.
And here comes my proposal. Normally, we don’t use the gift cars or the vast majority of them, we always use the same ones and it’s certainly a shame because behind each of the cars there are hours and hours of development by the developers of the game. I know that not all of us play Horizon open races, but there are many of us and a good way to force us to play with different cars is to add the option of standard car races. Races where we all race with the same car in standard version, where the value is in the skill. It would be a lot of fun and competitive and at the same time we would use more cars.
For example, in Horizon open racing all the cars that win are always the same cars in each category, and also, they all have all-wheel drive and we all know that rear-wheel drive is the most fun but they are harder to control. But if everyone in the race is in the same car, then only skill counts.
It would be nice to make an online game mode where every week a different car model is used on every track and every category has it. The most played classes are B and A but in this way it would also be possible to race in categories C and D, as online racing with these cars is a lot of fun when we all race equally.
I think this system would even give life to the social networks as it would be an incentive to look forward to the weekly news like the playlists.
I hope that someone responsible reads it and, above all, that those who agree and contribute more ideas to improve this possible method vote.
It might be interesting to have a Horizon Open format where everyone is in the same car. If the car and tune were the same for everyone, it would be a case of skill against skill instead of which good driver happened to come with the better car and tune.
That’s what the monthly/showcase rivals are for where everyone must use the same car/tune. But I did consider this myself the other day and what I think would work is car restrictions like hatchbacks, SUVs etc. Similar to the car restrictions we see in our weekly chore list. I think this would make online racing much more fun, at least for me, as it would force me try more cars but I can still pick whichever tune I like.
Yes and no. In Rivals you racing the track. Open is you actually racing against other drivers. In Rivals, you can follow whatever racing line you want as the ghost’s position on the road doesn’t matter. In Open, you might have to take a turn wider or tighter than you want because of other racer placement.
Rivals shows who is the faster driver on a given course. Open in the same car would show who the better racer is.
Also in Rivals, you are not racing in the same car and tune. Who manages to find the better car and tune (or use a meta car like the Boneshaker or Raesr) plays a factor and you don’t necessarily see who the better player is.
Basically what I would do is add a new option to the online racing filter mode called “random category”. If you select this then you are restricted to a random category such as SUVs. The existing filters on class/type still function accordingly.
I personally don’t think forcing people to race in the same tune is a good idea. What feels good to one player may feel horrible to the next.
But is still means you are racing against other models and tunes which can play a huge role in who wins. The closest Forza comes to what I would like is the start of Eliminator where everyone is in the same spec’ed VW Bug. But even there a H2H between to people in the L1 VW is not really even because one person may be facing a different direction.
And people wouldn’t be forced to do it. It would be another option. Some people might actually like not having to quickly process which of their cars they want to drive in a Horizon Open match. It would eliminate that 40 seconds of wait time while people try to find their car.
Do you drive RWD? I’ll pretend for the sake of my argument that you don’t. Now let’s pretend this feature exists and everyone must use the RWD tune. How would you feel racing against RWD specialists when you hate RWD?
There are already types of cars that I don’t like driving but have to drive them anyway as they may be required for the occasional Trial or Seasonal Championship. And having this as another option in Horizon Open doesn’t force people to not play the existing formats.
To be clear, I partially like you’re idea but think everyone would enjoy an option to race others based on some sort of car restrictions such as SUVs, whilst still being able to use their own tunes. IMO I think this would be a hit and far more preferably then restricting everyone to use the same car/tune.
Creo que se deberia de añadir como opción no como obligación. De la misma manera que ahora hay open aleatorio y open personalizada. Puedes elegir que coase correr. Pues seria añadir una opcion de carreras con coches standard y que lo seleccionara quien quiera. Nadie obliga a nada en este juego. Es para tener mas opciones que hagan que el juego mejore y de más opciones.

Same cars & tunes by autotune selection. Players, if they want to compete in this aspect of the game, are required to learn areas they maybe weak in. Good idea.
Stock Clio Williams Cup would be a nice optional monthly open event. Then you could do Vipers or recreate the Jaguar XJR-15 cup. Or find two closely matched cars or with different strengths. The old Mustang vs Mini battles 
Lotus Elise endurance race… It worked so well in lobbies in FM5 because you could just agree this stuff, but it’s doable with the open format too I think.
