Dear Playground Games and Turn 10,

I am a huge Forza fan. I am at tier 10 on Forza Rewards, and I got to platinum level playing Forza Horizon 3. I can’t tell you how much I looked forward to Forza Horizon 4.

That’s why it pains me to tell you that FH4’s multiplayer is absolutely terrible.

My concerns:

– First and foremost, why can’t we leave multiplayer between race series? Why do we have to wait until a race has started and then spoil someone else’s race because we need to get back to our real lives?
– Why is there only team play? I don’t mind playing on a team, but it’s also nice to race against all the other players in the lobby solo. Also, there’s less douchey behavior in solo races (like cutting the other team off at the start line to give your team an advantage).
– Why can’t you see everyone’s best lap time on the finishing grid? Again, a wonderful way to promote discussion in the lobby. It was nice to get complimented for a great lap time, even if you lost the race.
– Why can’t we vote on which race to do next? The debate over what to do next was enjoyable in FH3, even if you didn’t always get what you wanted.
– Why can we only race in A, S1 and S2 cars? Some of the best fun I had in FH3 was racing in C and B class cars. Why even have those cars now, since only a handful can be upgraded into usable A or S1 class vehicles?
– Why make Freeplay Rush an event that contributes to whether a team wins or not? I don’t mind the mode itself, but the racing should be about the actual tracks, not about bombing across the countryside to get to the event. It stinks to have a series end early because one team is better at cutting through forest.

I really hope you address these problems in an upcoming patch, and sooner rather than later. Otherwise I honestly can’t see myself playing FH4 online enough to get to platinum this time around, because multiplayer simply is not fun. It really breaks my heart, because FH3 absolutely nailed it and really is the best video game I’ve ever played. Not just best racing game; best game overall.

I agree with everything you have written, many topics have arisen with dissatisfaction, I hope that they will draw conclusions and change these irritating aspects of the multiplayer game

I would also add the lack of class-based Rivals. Thus the aspect of tuning and testing cars is immensely hindered.

It’s like no one reads anymore…

They will ad new content on a monthly basis, why not wait for a couple updates to see how things expand before soap boxing every other thread

They ruined FM7 for many by taking a full year to get the multiplayer right. I’m really hoping that they don’t repeat that here. And if we don’t tell them what’s wrong with MP, how will they know what needs adjusting?

Thank you for writing this Letter! Your absolutely right whit every point! I really hope they fix the problems whit a patch! I play horizon since fh2 and the road trips and the rivals are important for me for having fun! But at the moment the rivals and the online racing are [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] and everything else than fun! If you want them to read, create a support ticket.

The only drawback it has is there are no votes. So if anyone wants to vote, then I guess they need to create a duplicate ticket.
