I know I put it on Twitter but wanted to put it here too. FH4 is every bit as great as I was hoping it would be. The refinements are pretty much spot on and the additions don’t damage what made the previous games fun for me.
All in all, Playground Games have made another brilliant and thourougly enjoyable racing game. Thank you to them
you’ve obviously played little and nothing at all in online mode. Here is the biggest problem.
of course, I admit that the game has great potential, but also large gaps
We must also mention the terrible multiplayer system.
where are the competitions in which you can compete with each other individually and not team ?
where is the selection of races due to the car class?
where is the choice of seasons and the type of competition in which you want to participate
do not necessarily want to take part in cross competitions or cross-country. I have no choice
we want to have access to this in the fast game mode with random players who also want to play in such a way
As I show the number of topics and posts, this is not just my point of view, but the majority here speaking. And so I have to write about it everywhere because making people aware and talking about the problem will give us a better chance to correct these mistakes
Yes you are right, I rarely play online on any games. I’m an old school gamer so a good single player mode is essential to me. Online is a bonus that a rarely have time for.
Sorry you’ve been having issues though.
My problem is it has nothing I want. I am a builder/tuner of cars. A HUGE part of that experience is testing and tweaking them in class based rivals on every track in the game. Now we don’t even have class based rivals in one track in the game. This leaves me for a loss as what to even do in this game as that took up the bulk of my time and is what I enjoyed doing. Then after I would build and tweak all of these cars spending hours upon hours in rivals I would blueprint championships for them. Uh, no blueprint championships now. A couple of seasonal ones that are very restrictive in classes or cars I have no interest in play. Once I would run them through my blueprinted champions then it was time to race online. But online racing has been gutted. This team only thing is real bad but what is even worse is that there is NO CHOICE of what class you play in which makes the entire effort futile and pointless.
They took everything I absolutely loved about past Horizon games and deleted or ruined them in some way. The open ended “sandbox” of Horizon has lost its freedom and openness and offers me nothing that I want. This was the whole game for me which kept me playing Horizon 2 from day one to the release of Horizon 3 which kept me playing Horizon 3 from day one until Horizon 4 just this Friday. I am ready to stop playing Horizon 4 already because what made those last 2 games exceptionally open ended with total freedom is now gone.
I’m really liking FH4 too the addition of clothing to customise your in game avatar is fun so is the emotes, I see a lot of people are bellyaching, crying and whinging about them but they just need to lighten up and realise that FH is all bout fun and having a sense of humour.
I share your opinion, I also liked to create tunings and check them on different routes in rivals mode, beat records. Race in certain classes of cars, have a choice what type of competition will be the next. I do not have anything right now. After 4 days the game became boring.
I understand your enthusiasm, the game is beautiful and gives you a lot of fun in the “campaign” mode. But it’s the max week of playing … but what is more?
In FH3 I played every day for almost two years and every day I had a lot of fun racing with friends as well as random people in the races/class I wanted.
I get that and as I said, I can see why its dissapointing for you. But I’m having a ton of fun and wanted to express my gratitude to the developers for that, that was the purpose of this thread
I agree, the game is pure automotive bliss for me, after I configured the g920 properly and swithced from quality graphics preset to performance, which removed all the input lag. Sure I would like class based rivals back but there is hope they will implement them at some point as they did with fm7. Online aspect is a no for me because the avarage horizon racer does not know anything but ramming. There are other sims where I can have proper racing, or I race with friends…
The single player experience is great and the ffb with a wheel, especially on gravel is quite good.
