Open Drifting Cheaters

Sad that people have to cheat in a video game, what is the point in playing at all, seems pointless. I was doing some open drifting and there was a guy getting over 200 thousand points more than any other person. So in the next race I waited for him to go, needless to say he was waiting for me but I held out longer than he did and just did one lap and he didn’t get a chance to cheat so I beat him, not sure how the cheat works but they are cheating. So I did this once again but this time he had a chance to cheat before the race ended and got 150 thousand points in a few seconds. I have seen this happen several times over the last few weeks and I have pretty much stopped doing any open anything at this point.

Just a rant, thanks for reading, lol.

Yeah the cheating problem is depressing. I had my first encounter in games the other day with someone in a Peel with instant 0-200 mph acceleration, and able to get from one end of the aerodrome arena to the other in about 2 seconds. He then teleported outside the arena and sat there where nobody could infect him. It reduces what little bit of ‘fun’ there is in this playlist chore to zero, but nothing changes. I really hope we have a whole load of fixes coming soon.

Peels can be upgraded to have insane acceleration, are you sure it wasn’t that? And did the person spawn outside the arena or teleport there mid-round?

and the worst thing is that awd and rwd drives in same category! it’s same thing as letting S1 Class race against B class…

totally agree, they have to separate RWD from AWD, on leaderboard too…

That’s not a cheater lmao. There a lot of people who are veeerry good at point drifting, and seeing someone top the lobby by 200k isn’t rare at all. What you see when people are stood still and getting points is a server glitch, happened in fh4 as well. I’ve heard a lot of people say this sort of thing whilst there’s videos of these insane runs on YouTube to prove they’re legit. There may be the odd actual hacker out there, but I’ve done open drift countless times and never seen one, nor even a screenshot of one taken by someone else.

It’s more likely to have been that in the last couple of weeks given the servers have been the worst they’ve been since they initially patched them

Open drifting, horizon tour… specially horizon tour. Ive played about 20 horizon tours so far, i noticed cheaters in about 8 of them. Disgusting.

i don’t think it’s a cheater tbf yesterday i did a drifting open and i destroyed the second place by 120-150k points on every race. so if that person really good at drifting win by 200k points is possible.

I’ve noticed cheaters all over the place. But to be fair, some people in open drifting can pull of some crazy drifts.
Also, I don’t start immediately either. I wait for other players to do at least one third of a lap before I start, otherwise I can’t see anything from the smoke

Exactly i beat other drifters by at least 100k i ive been as high as 275k in front of 2nd there is levels to drifting.

Okay everybody I have a question then if it’s not cheating why is everybody in the game waiting throughout the track for you to go past them and then get in behind you and then when you get close to the finish line they don’t even care about drifting they’re just trying to get in front of you. What explains this behavior because I’d say 8 out of 10 people are doing it. Some hero on here that says it isn’t cheating explain that to me

They’ve done their lap and scored their points. They are now trying to mess up your lap(s). Cheating no, unsportsman like, probably.

I can also win by 200k in drifting. Maybe they are cheating though as well.

its not cheating its AWD drag tire drift setups. unlike rwd where your picking up points with 2 tires they are picking up points with all 4 tires

Is that how the points work?
I had it down to angle, speed, wheelspin, and how wide on the track you are. The width, if you can touch the grass you get the most points. If you go too far off the grass you get zero points.

Alot of times on tracks like cathedral if your learning a car its out of generosity. Because you fear of hitting props screwing up other peoples runs. Also sometimes we reverse before the initial start to get a better first lap and a little extra time to improve. Nothing you have mentioned is cheating if anything its people being competitive/generous. I have met alot of super competitive drift groups: CDF, GFD, BHz, TDG and many many more. Alot of these groups are composednof WR drifters and only play horizon/motorsport titles for drifting. Ik someone with 50+ days on a isetta alone… its not cheating its dedication… without a proper video or proof i find them cheating hard to believe

As Barry Sniff (a legendary drifter in the point drift community) said cheating does exist but its very rare and extremely noticeable you would see them repetively going backwards “backdrifting” or phasing through props… nothing of which was mentioned

yes you are right thats how u pick up points but u cant pick up points on ur front tires in a rwd car which is my point that points are dependent on whats spinning and sliding

Well I didn’t know that, and someone needs to test it.
