Impossible to compete on horizon 5 online open racing.

Are there certain cars you’re finding are functioning normally but are not competitive by performance?

I am playing on Xbox. Their online multiplayer player match play issues were just fixed lately and I still have problems even after I wiped my console and account clean. I try to play horizon 5 open racing and the first race is always good and competitive but if I play more races then the first one in open 90% of the time I DNF. I just started playing online after I got many accolades racing with drivatars before I started playing online. There is mno comparison, my car in open is wasted by every other player I race with, I can’t make the smallest of a mistake with our it causing game over for me. I even talked to medicom xstream internet (my provider) and nothing is wrong with my wifi. So I am at a loss on what to do.
