This issue is and is unfortunately quite a known one within the forum and wheel users but sadly hasn’t been address in 8 months. VooDoo created a topic wheels and you with a very helpful guide. Though FFB still on a wheel does not work very well and mid corners the wheel just gives out on itself and leaves you with trying to fight with the car to keep it on the track and this is not just with one wheel it’s with all of them. I know the wheel population may not be large but this is a racing game and wheel users in my eyes and others should be up on that list of things to look into.
Again 8 months and not much feedback about fixing these wheel issues, this is 8 months after Voodoo’s thread explaining wheels and 40+ pages of problems that have yet to be answered since the release of the title
I’ve noticed that vibration feels absent when front tyres start losing grip; if it’s less strong or not I can’t remember, but there really is less feedback than before.
(EDIT: I use the Xbox One controller, connected via USB)
Wait do they want to know about wheel ffb issues since the launch of the game or since the update? If its since launch theres a 41 page stickied thread about it. I havent used my wheel in like 2 months with this game cuz i just cant do it anymore so i dunno about after the patch. Controller problems are no rumble when skidding whether sideways or locking up brakes, reversing, and crashing.
I think we should just turn this into a May Content Update Issue thread.
Among other things like no cornering controller feedback and no ghosts for old times before the update, here are some other things:
The rolling starts are not consistent. There are lots of times where certain cars will start at a higher speed than others along with lots of spreading out issues. If the cars all were set to a certain speed and stayed tight in the grid it would be much better. Also, being able to select gears when coming up for the rolling start would be helpful.
There is no way to turn off the “Quickstop” screen without turning off multiple other things. This needs to be a separate option on the HUD because most racers prefer to be able to see the minimap along with being able to see the cars coming on the track instead of this screen blocking everything. If there was a toggle on the d-pad while in the pits, this could work too.
Bump drafting is still an issue, possibly even worse now. It is nearly impossible to bump draft someone cleanly without losing double-digits of MPH and being shot backwards.
Homestead and VIR are out of order in the rivals menu.
After nascar update, my thrustmaster tx ffb and vibration are ok, but it’s not giving leaps when it passes in track bumpers . I ran yesterday and everything was normal before the update of nascar.
I am using 100% vibration and 42% ffb, thrustmaster tx via usb on xbox one. Tried 100% ffb and no way.
Mechberg said in another thread that they will start to look at it now. Youd think having no vibration in the controller would have been something they would have noticed before releasing the update. I aso cant see how it wasnt delayed because of all these bugs, its not like anyone knew about an update other than the nascar expansion leak, but they never said anything about that either. Im sure we’re gonna get a fix for everything but the rivals ghosts and replays, I think those are gone forever.
I just pulled the plug on the network and am playing local. Not sure why you would say ghosts and replays are gone forever though. Seems a bit pessimistic unless T10 indicated otherwise.
I can no longer feel loss of traction through the game pad when the tires lose traction. This issue is only in effect when loss of traction occurs while turning or using the emergency brake. The loss of tire traction can still be felt through the triggers while under hard braking or acceleration but is no longer felt through the rumble motors in the game pad itself. I have verified this through the Telemetry. This feature needs to be fixed. The player feels completely disconnected from the car without feedback from the rumble moters in the game pad. I do not understand how this could have been missed prior to the update/Nascar expansion update. I noticed this on the first lap of my first race immediately following this update. Turn 10, please fis this! I beg of you to correct this issue.
I have been playing quite a bit of Forza Motorsport 4 lately, trying to get 1st in all event list races, so I am used to the driving in that game again. I come back to Forza 6 after updating and downloading the NASCAR Expansion, and it feels the same as Forza 4. No grip in the corners with most cars (even FWD cars). The vibration rumbles aren’t anywhere where they used to be, and I have played Forza 6 a lot since release (bought it when pre-order went online).
Another issue I am having, and have had it for a while, so it’s not necessarily an issue created by the May update, but I lose a little bit of ffb in my left trigger (playing on controller since I don’t have my G920 at the moment) after snapping an app or checking social notifications, or whatever I may do after double-tapping the Xbox Button. This issue is STILL present in Forza 5 as well, but probably won’t get fixed in Forza 5. I thought this issue was only with the wheels, but it has migrated to controllers. After about 20-30 minutes of driving, if I want my braking to be as good as possible, I have exit and quit the game, and reload it. It feels like I go from the 120% braking pressure I usually use on most cars down it 50-60%, with no wheel lock-ups unless I use the hand brake (not that I want wheel lock ups, but I can’t get a good stopping distance now).
These are the issues I have seen with this game. Sorry for reporting the brake pressure issue so late. Just haven’t gotten around to posting anything about it, cause I forgot about it. Been playing Forza 4 and 5 mostly for the past couple of weeks (loss of brake pressure has been an issue for around a month now, around the time the Hot Wheels Pack released).
Also experiencing the lack of cornering feedback from the tires. Triggers seem fine for wheel spin and lock-ups. Controller does rumble over curbs. While I like the drafting feedback, given the choice I’d rather have the cornering feedback.
Using standard controller. Doesn’t matter if wireless or USB connected.
