I’ll try to explain why current FM (car paint&vinyl colors) looks weird on some lighting conditions…
First, how real cameras handle over brightness on very pure saturated colors (all colors but pure saturated color is most visible in FM case)
Well, camera sensor clips value to max it can handle but not just that particular color, for example red but brightness bleeds other rgb pixels or in most cases, color is not actually so perfectly pure that it only affects red “detector”. Following image is real camera trying to capture very bright base colors, rgb, and as you see color saturation goes down to white.
This is how games usually handle very bright lighting.
FM2023 looks like it does this kind of more like in real world (eyes…) but still misses the point. In real world and with proper measuring instrument pure color continues to be pure color no matter how bright lit it is… however, there are not really hyper pure colors and most objects tend to creep to whiteish color when over lit…
Next picture shows how FH5 and FM2023 handles very bright lighting… FH5 looks what is usually expected, desatures to white, but FM2023 does not, it mainly clips to that particular color and not desaturate much and that looks weird, plastic, glowing look…
I have said this a ton of times. They have blurred, fogged, added haze and a number of other tricks and elements to diffuse the lighting of the game. This is to hide the horrible graphics. They would prefer to say it’s “ambience”. It’s just clever tricks to fool viewers into thinking that they are looking at a polished game, when it is just adjusted so you can’t readily see just how bad it is.
So many people have proven over and over again that they are re-using old assets and passing them off as new. I am so glad that this game is just getting bashed.
I used to be a huge endorser of Forza. Not any more. I am calling them out on everything until the game becomes they game as promised.
Frankly I hope the game studio shuts it’s doors and everyone loses their jobs, for stealing all the peoples money who were promised a game that we didn’t get.
That is how weird the light effects in the game can sometimes look like.
Like 30 seconds after that video it looked normal again.
Well both videos are only recorded in 1080p @30 FPS, so it also looks bad. But it’s about the light effects and that can be seen clearly, that it’s very weird and blinds the player horribly.
I think it only happens under specific circumstances on specific race tracks. Just try it out, play in the late night to very early morning on Mugello Circuit with heavy rain. Maybe you get the same weird light effects.
I only had this happen exactly one time, so i think it might be a rare thing. Well or not i don’t know.
I never got those weird effects, even though the combination of strong lights and heavy rain weren’t the best conditions to drive in. I got used to it though.
