If you have bought one of the prize crates that is supposed to give you cars please leave a post of what car you got.
More importantly if you actually got one of the locked forza cars that are supposedly locked behind these crates.
If you got one of these locked cars please also attach a pic of you driving your car.
The reason for this thread is because after two weekends of testing the crates with friends and over 300 of the car crates bought not once has any of us gotten a locked car.
I am starting to suspect that the locked cars aren’t attainable through prize crates, at least not at this time.
We have gotten a few super rares in a respectable number of crates, but no locked cars.
We need a larger sample size to help determine if my conclusion is correct.
And if it is, T10 had better change that little tag on those cars and stop lying to us.
I got a Renault 5 if I recall in the one cr300k (I think it was?) crate I did buy, as well as some other low level carp. After that disappointment I didn’t bother buying more.
And if that is true, then why does it say in game that they can be gotten from the crates?
If it’s true T10 better remove that from in game or even faster make another letter to the community NOT to buy the crates expecting locked cars.
Which cars are supposed to be locked behind crates? Which crate is the one that has them? i bought quite a few of the 300,000 one but dont dont remember what the crates are called.
Cars like the VW Bus, S14(old one), The forza edition cars, one of the STI’s, ect.
16% of the cars are according to the game locked but obtainable through the crates.
Go into car collection and check out one of those cars, you’ll see what were talking about.
The Lucky Car crate you would think being the most expensive would give you one of these cars.
I should also add we also bought the cheaper crates to to cover bases, same thing.
You took the words right out of my mouth, I just finished posting the exact same thing in another thread. I don’t understand where this “cars locked behind a crate” thing is coming from…the game allows you numerous ways to get those cars, as per the locked cars descriptions:
“Prize Crates
Specialty Dealers
Forzathon
Completing the Forza Driver’s cup
Completing Showcase Events”
Of course I’m not surprised how this just became “TURN 10 LOCKING CONTENT/CARS BEHIND CRATES!!!”
Its because of how purposely vague it’s put.
I spend the first entire week of release spending every credit over a million I had on crates trying to get an Abarth Punto, a CRX Mugen, and a VW Scirocco to use in the Modern Hot Hatch hopper, what if it turns out both of those are Forzathon exclusive and/or Specialty dealer like the CRX was? That’s literally a waste of my time and money.

You seem to think that every single one of the +100 locked cars will be available through at least two different of these five listed ways. That is just an assumption. The reason why ATM there is no locked car in the crates might be that they already expected us to find glitches at the beginning.
Anyway, the main reason for us to talk about cars locked in crates, is because the game says so.
I understand why people are talking about it, but my point was I hardly see anyone complaining “Cars locked behind Forzathon! Cars locked behind Specialty dealer timed events!” …no , it’s all about the loot crates, cars are locked behind the loot crates now. I won so many cars in Forza Horizon 3 through the Forzathon events, I’ve not had a chance to even use half of them, let alone know which ones, if any , were exclusive to the Forzathons. But I don’t see people mentioning that the cars could be unlocked there(via Forzathons) potentially based on the description, a lot of people are just focusing on the loot crate thing. Anyways, so far this issue has not affected my enjoyment…maybe in the future it will, I don’t know. And hopefully if some cars are indeed locked behind crates and that is the only way to get them, if that gets proven in the future well hopefully Turn 10 listens to its fans and does something about that.
Honestly, I don’t care if cars are locked behind crates or special events.
The main problem to me, is that cars are locked away at all.
It is one thing to lock cars behind career/credits/tier. In this case, it is just up to me to make them available by playing the game.
But if cars are locked behind crates or even special events, then it is out of my hands to get them.
I don’t even know when I’ll be able to try to get them. Maybe in 10 days, maybe in 10 months. It can’t be done just by progressing in my own pace through career. I will have to wait and rely on T10’s goodwill.
I have been testing this since early launch, and so far it’s a no. I would also like to point out that I have a friend on my list who has not raced nearly as much as I have and he has triple the amount of cars I do. I have strictly done nothing but buy crates, my assumption is he has just been buying cars. So the crates eat mass money and gives little to make sense to buy them. They truly should just be tied to leveling system, paying in game funds for them are ridiculous. I love this game but Turn 10 needs a round table discussion to fix this game. I love driving my tail off to unlock stuff, but come on.
