Until I read some of these posts in this thread I wasn’t really using MOD cards, I guess it was just habit from them not really doing much in FM6, but I have since bought and used some mods and the extra credits bonus definitely can be felt. The game economy almost seems to be calibrated to work with VIP, so you basically break even with just that but if you add MODs you can keep a pad and buy the expensive Level up Cars.
I have had the same experience now that I have almost all the expensive cars either owned or stacked in my rewards queue I’m pretty much only getting free or very cheap rewards cars.
I haven’t had much issues with credits until recently. I guess the game decided to give me only legendary reward cars about 20 times in a row. Needless to say I’ve skipped a lot. I think I’m at around 15 to be claimed.
Guess what? I love It!
First time in a long long time that I didn’t have at least 20-30 million just sitting around. This has forced me to play the game again in a way to maximize credits. I got lazy with it for a bit.
Because I don’t dip below 3 million after prize car purchases, buying car upgrades and specialty dealer cars (if I want them) is always affordable. Just a matter of finishing up career mode smart.
If I had my time over I’d have bought VIP earlier, and increased the lap lengths in career. I’m at about driver level 465ish and have opted for the driver gear rather than the 50k cr when I couldn’t afford the car. When the speciality dealership is on I aim for those cars rather than level up ones. I was on FM5 and FM6 in the last couple of days and the 20-30 mil CR rings a bell, apparently I bought a cheap car pass in one of them so there’s a lot of free cars. I was actively buying the most expensive ones just in case my garage got full and I still had millions sitting doing nothing. FM7 easily has the best economy of the series.
Yeah previous games you could have racked up 30 million credits but this is the first game were there is a huge emphasis on collecting cars. Previous games there was no real reason to collect them all. In some cases it was impossilbe due to garage limitations. Generally I only bought cars that I wanted. FM7 I buy every car that it aks me to. I have over 400 cars in this game previous games I’d probably have less than 100 by this stage. If you made a concious desicion to not collect cars in this game you would most likley have that many credits in the game. It’s also worth noting that previous games had cars that cost in the region of 20,000,000 credits which you needed for achievements, this game does not.
This is just not true.
The most expensive cars in the game are 1.5 million. So that 75 million would buy you 50 of the most expensive cars not 20.
I am about 50 hours in and already completed the career, I own more than 400 cars, I have about half of the top tier ones, which include the 1.5 million credit ones.
100 hours to get 50 million credits would mean about 500,000/hour. I am currently earning well more than double that.
A long race will get me around 300,000 (when using mods) and only takes about 15-20mins. So that is about 1 million credits / hour.
I’d also likely rank up 3 times in that hour and would gain a discount of 400,000 per car so that would be another 1.2 million credits. so effectivly I am earning more than 2 million credits per hour when you include the discount.
An extra long race banks at least a million credits and lasts about 1 hour.
The economy in this game is fine, it’s just it has a lot more cars than previous games.
No one, VIP status or not, would struggle for money if they completed every career race on Long or Extra Long with nothing but 50%+ mods equipped at all times.
fm7 is good in credit,…fm6. for an example, i filled up the garage twice…still have. 200 billions left…whats the point?..u gotta. earn. the cars now, as a reward for accomplishments(to bad. cheatter and corner cutter. and idiots rammers. can still win a race. and money tho)
Thanks for the response. I was pretty certain that was the case, and now you confirmed it. For me personally, I would like to be able to work at the game and own 700 different cars, instead of buying 50-100 of the same inexpensive car, in order to gain the achievement.
I did it just playing hoppers online where the gain of credits is lower than with cards system, at moment i have 722 cars… Credits are not a problem at all.
To be honest since i don’t tune nor paint cars i have a lot less, i have like 220 hours of drive if you wanna count the hours the game is in stand-by then yes about 550 but in stand-by i hardly get credits right?
It’s misleading to tell people that credits are no problem for you without telling them that it took several hundred hours to get to that point.
If anyone was saying to put in a hundred or more hours of seat time into the game and you wont have a problem, fair enough because it’s true, but somehow that part always gets left out.
If you put the same effort I did playing offline instead of online and using cards you easily get 2x-3x the amount of money I got simply because the multiplayer reward is ridiculous compared. At this point how can you say money are a problem? If you enjoy the game credits comes and you don’t even notice but if you feel forced to play to get money what is the point of play a game you don’t like? Money will never be enough if you play just for achievements.
Just pointing out how many people that say credits are no problem all seem to have time to play the game for hundreds of hours. I freely admit that if you play the game for hundreds of hours that you aren’t going to have a problem with credits. The people that have concerns about earning credits rarely have that kind of time however, a concern which is almost never recognized. For a lot of people earning the amount necessary to play/race how they want is not that easy.
Agreed. There is an earning curve as you go through the game and in this one, I think they got it wrong.
I have 27 discounted cars in my queue from levelling up. The cheap or free ones were bought so they are all cars worth 400,000 or more with massive discounts. The 50,000 credits or the driver suit are not good choices in comparison. They should offer credits that are the same as the discount on the car, or car packs worth the same. That would make it WAY more interesting.
I agree that in FM6 and even FH3 it was too easy to get credits. I think they overcorrected.
By the way, I do have a good technique for earning close to 20,000 credits a minute.
I built an Indy tune with almost no aerodynamics that is very stable. Using it on the Daytona oval I can run with no assists and beat the Unbeatable drivers. A 16 lap race takes about 10 minutes at just over 37 seconds a lap. Usually, I’ll earn over 200,000 credits with the right mods.
Indy cars on Daytona? How dare you! Just kidding. I do at least use a Stock Car Tune which will lap the Unbeatable twice on a 50 lap race, which earns me over a half million. Top 1% on the LB’s
