I had a couple of storm in free roam near the jungle area, had a couple of dust storm too during hot season at western desert area near the main festival site.
i recall having one storm during freeroam.
and several light rain episodes and some lightning etc
havent had a sandstorm in freeroam personally yet though
Sandstorms happened in freeroam the first week of FH5’s release. Have since disappeared. I hope they return.
Just been in one outside the beach house on the east coast, took me completely by surprise! Noticed it getting a bit misty while I was banking some skills before turning in… and then wallop!!! Got blown all over the gaff, LoL, it lasted for a couple of songs on the radio I think and I have to say I quite enjoyed it 
The only storm I experienced was roaming in free mode and it went from starting to get misty to SNAP! Suddenly its bright as day. Weather is cheezed/broken, guessing this will require a patch of some kind.
No noticeable difference from the previous season to my eyes. It was always fun in Fh4 to go for runs with sim steering on and your wheel up into the northern part of the map in all sorts of cars…
I think some of you are getting mixed up with a bit of thunder & lightning compared to a tropical storm… basically a hurricane. Which is suppose to be a thing in this game.
I’ve spent many hours on the east coast & for some reason have yet to experience this. Guess we’ll see.
Start at the roundabout on right side of highway and watch the weather easy to see from there. Than follow the weather not that hard 
But yeah its only misty + rain + windy and some lightning u have to wait for dj saying bla storm. And its over when dj says its over. And u have to drive around think there is no fixed spot to wait for it. While driving around and it becomes sunny go other direction
The only bad weather I’ve experienced in game this season has been during weekly challenge races, I’m wondering if the weather rotation doesn’t spawn much if at all during free-roam but is baked-into the weekly challenges or something. Free Roam right now compared with Free Roam last week are, at least to me, nearly identical…maybe the dirt roads have more mud? Literally thats it, no windshield wipers, no blinding rainstorms, I only hit a sandstorm once the prior week and that lasted about 30 seconds and then immediately disappeared, like a Thanos snap going from horrible to ‘poof, gone’.
Sandstorms were pretty frequent. But has been no tropical storms as such, like shown in early footages. I’ve noticed last season was the “wet” season and the map was barely ever wet. The storm season, I’ve only ever seen a bit of rain and thunder, nothing more. All based North & West, nothing East. Feels a bit broken to be honest.
Haven’t seen actual tropical storm condition in free roam yet - just heavy rain on occasion.
I created a route using tropical storm as the weather at night, but it is currently bugged and produces clear daytime weather lmao (thankfully this has been reported under Known Issues)
Thankfully using Evening as the starting time with rolling progression allows it to transition to nightfall properly for now.

It’s seems like it does nothing BUT rain, but as for tropical storms, I’ve seen one, and it started at the east end of the highway, right where that danger sign is. You can’t see them until after you drive into them. The sky just looks like normal rain at a distance, but once you enter it, your screen just basically switches to storm mode, and off you cross back over the line where it started, it just instantly fades away. Depending on where you’re at on its border, it’s either 0% or 100%.
They also aren’t very fun. It seems like you lose more traction than normal rain, and it is DEAFENINGLY LOUD. It completely over powers engine sounds, exhaust sounds, radio, etc. You just hear wind audio that like 2x as loud as everything else in the game.
If you want to experience one, you can go to the seasonal championship races, and do the rally one. I think the first one is during a tropical storm. It’s raining in all of them, but I think only the starting race is actually a storm.
Yes, I’ve completed all races including the tropical storm one. But have yet to experience more than a bit of rain & thunder in free-roam.
Best spot to find one. Dj was saying something like “bla stormy weather stays blabla my vocho was wet inside”
Tropical storms are no different than a bad thunderstorm or somewhat less than that. They just last longer.
Hurricanes on the other hand. Let me tell ya about a category 4…
Incorrect. Google it. Half right… but they’re damaging and technically classed as a cyclone/hurricane.
Tropical storm by Goliath, and towards the house is regular this season.
The weather has been very disappointing. I’m level 100 and I haven’t seen a sandstorm (outside of the intro) and there’s been barely more than light rain.
Was hoping to see the extreme weather more often, especially given how good the game looks in rainy conditions.
Not surprised they have it like this though, the relentless tantrums lots of the fragile community had about 1 week of snow last game was pathetic.

Weather is a big disappointment in this game, but the sandstorm certainly does exist. Popped up often during Spring season next to main festival.
Yesterday the ground textures went from bone dry to covered in wetness and the sky grew a little overcast…that was about it, in freeroam, the ground transformed almost instantly and there was no driving rain, I think the screen had light mist on it, something like that (main airfield/Horizon location). I’m guessing its something they will work on over time so the weather changes are a little more gradual or I’ve just got to get used to it.
Driving the challenge races for the week I was in storms the entire time…have not seen that while doing freeroam. Freeroam seems like its broken a bit…but I’ll give it time.
