No love for driving cars in stock dealer form? :(

I love to drive cars unmodified, especially for classic cars. I think that mindset just comes with the thought that you simply don’t mess with classic cars and respect in whatever shape they come, no matter how hard they are to keep under control. The difficulty of driving these cars actually makes them so fun to drive.

In Forza Horizon 2 all of my classic cars are in stock form and I love how the AI opponents in the campaign adapt to the PI of my own car. However in FM6, when I want to do the career races I constantly get a message that my car needs to be upgraded. Why can’t AI opponents simply be downscaled to the PI of my own car like in Horizon 2?

For example, go to the very first race of career mode, the classic cars. If you press “buy car” the game suggests all sorts of (mostly upgraded) cars around PI of 300. If you buy a car here it’s NOT the stock dealership car, if you exit career mode and go to “find cars” (or whatever it’s called) and buy one there, then you have a stock dealership car without any modifications.

Now the 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo comes in stock form with a PI of 300 so you can drive it for that particular race without any modifications since the stock PI equals the maximum PI for that race.
But my 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Stradale comes in stock form with a PI of 272 and the game says I need to upgrade it to be competitive. But I don’t want to. :frowning:

Anyone else who prefers to drive their classic cars in stock form without any upgrades or tunes? How do you approach this in FM6?

I have several cars I love to drive stock. I do change tire pressures but that’s it (28 or 28.5 feels better to me). I usually end up with 2 or more of these cars. Some classic, some sports and a couple super and one hyper car. I can’t do career but, I do believe you can race in free play. Downside is you won’t be racing classics only. I find it competitive and fun though because my car is not tuned to top of class and the cars I need to catch are. It would be great though if I could race like that in career. One of my favorites right now is the GT 350 R.

I totally get what you mean. I like to be able to compare car performance (or at least what I can extract from them) on hotlaps and vs races…so…my solution is to rent cars in Free Race mode…or setting up custom multiplayer races with or without AI…but without online racers.

Shouldn’t have to do this, but I guess at least there is a way…

I prefer my cars “stock” as well and in Forza 4 it was possible to set the AI to stock.

I hope they patch this into Forza 6 as well

I hate to tune my cars or even get tunings for them.

Yes I too enjoy driving stock cars.mmthey need to patch this so that the AI drives stock cars.

Yeah I usually drive mine stock as well, in fact I like driving most cars in their stock form. Even when I do upgrade cars I usually try to only bump them up one class, or I like to push it’s engine to the max without doing any conversions.

I like to drive OEM spec, too, sometimes. Its nice to see what laptimes you can pull out of the standard car VS my modded version. Sometimes I limit my mods and try to make my own hardcore version of OEM cars, opting for weight reduction and and schassis improvements with a small ECU, induction, exhuast and cam upgrade. Making something as close to what they would sell if they did such cars with their road going models.

I have to add my +1 here too, sometimes I just want to race stock, not to be forced to upgrade to within the boundaries.

It’s called cycled production, and hopefully it takes less than a year and a half to get in the game like it did with forza 5.

Yep I prefer driving cars stock as well.

In career mode, I just buy the cars separately so it doesn’t add any mods to them and lower the drivatar difficulty to I can keep up with them in my stock car

Here’s hoping they make it like Forza 4 or Horizon 2

If you race your car in the showcase-events or in free mode the AI stays stock as well so I really hope they can do this for the cups as well.

I thought yesterday “cool, finally I can race my F40” and then I saw I have to tune it to max S-Class :frowning:

Just do it like Forza 4, let us set the AI to stock and give me 5 % less cash - I simply would not care at all
