New NVIDIA Driver out for FM7 (385.69)

As the title says, just saw a new Nvidia driver thats out, 385.69 WHQL

Installed it and tried it out, thing is there is still stuttering in the menus, game runs just as smooth, this is pretty weird. Also after i installed it and restarted my PC, forza crashed right i was in the grafic setup menus. Had to restart Pc and open it up again.

Excuse me, i don’t know if all of you have noticed but, menus are capped to 32fps if you have 144hz screen resolution or 30fps if you have a 120hz resolution set up (1/4 framerrate).
Maybe is not sttutering what you are noticing.

So far, I’ve not had any CTD since installing the new drivers. Everything else seems the same.

Edit: Spoke too soon. :frowning:

installed newest driver now i crash when starting the game…

But I noticed before it crashes that it still stutters hard even in the menu while im above 60 hz…

I have a feeling it will take a long time to fix so we can play the game which is sad…

On my PC the game seems stable on the old 384.94 drivers and with so many of you getting CTD’s with the latest ones I might just hold off installing them…

Just make sure you guys select custom and do a clean install of the new driver

VERY IMPORTANT! You and guys:
DDU is very good clean any driver - here

The demo has been literally unplayable for me on the fullscreen option. One core pegs at 100% and the others all sit at like 5% and its extremly choppy in menus. I do believe that if I switch to fullscreen when the race actually starts its ok but the menus I need to switch to windowed mode.

PC Specs:

I7 6700k @ 4.2ghz
GTx 1080 strix
16gb of ram
Acer Predator 1440p 165hz g-sync monitor

Confirm the game crash when starting the game with the new drivers …

With this new driver my GPU usage is really low 20-40% resulting in low fps.

Game is still a stuttery mess though. Was the same for FH3 until after 6 months worth of patches, although the stutter never went completely, so not sure why i’m surprised this game does the same

You have to be doing something wrong. Don’t just assume it’s the game and not something running on your PC. I cannot stress enough that you need to know what is running at the same time you are trying to play the game especially trying to run things in 4K. Do you think a virus scanner or god knows what else you guys have running is not going to affect that? I just played for an hour on my crappy 965m with 2 GB of VRam, i7 4720HQ 2.6-3.4GHZ, 16GB Ram on a 7200rpm drive running in SATA III mode. 1920x1080, medium render quality, msaa off and 60fps v-sync, everything else set to dynamic. No stutters except for loading screens cause it’s a demo probably and it ran very well during the races. Your desktop boards should run circles around me. Benchmark 59fps average on this latest driver. You have to tinker with your settings and explain what you did before just saying it does not run well. Without knowing the troubleshooting steps you took makes it very difficult to know what is going on. I am not done tinkering yet, just getting started.

Installed new driver and game wouldn’t even start, after reboot game started.

Still stutters and hitches in menus, FPS in menu is at 32fps, racing its at 72 fps, half the refresh rate of my 144hz 1440p monitor. Racing wise I could see an occasional hitch but was playable.

Can you try to set your monitor at 60Hz (just for testing) and see if you still get the stutters and slow menu’s? i’ve read somewhere else that this might fix it, or disable all that G-Sync / FreeSync stuff.

It might be related to the Hz/Sync stuff, or maybe even the resolution (try 1920x1080 for testing @ 60Hz without sync).

New drivers break HDR in the game. Previous driver is fine. Anyone having issues with the game CtDing at the start try going fullscreen with alt+enter during the Turn 10 logo. Stops the crashing for me.

Any refresh rate above 60 causes stutters. I had to downclock my monitor to play the demo.

Yes on 60hz with Vsync on the demo runs just fine no more stutters. Just occasionly the track turns invisible… With the new drivers for me at least even the menus are better, stutters are almost completely gone. But i still do have an issue with track becoming invisible from time to time, which leads to a crash if you dont end the race then and there and start a new one. I turned all windows game mod, game dvr off, also now im experimenting with power managemnt mode - prefer maximum power in NVCP (since i switched this have not yet gotten invis track).

Thanks for all the settings tweaks for the new drivers…

I will still wait until I have to change them… But it’s good to know that they can be made to work

Before i installed the new Driver i had just stuttering in the Menue and maybe 2 0,5 sec freezes per race. I saw there is a new Patch for Forza and i thought this will fix the short freezes, so i installed it. Now the Game is unplayable. Framedropps everywhere…

My Spec:
I5 6500
1060 GTX 6GB
16GB RAM
Windows 10

Ok fixed the Problem…had to disconnect my Televison from my Graphic Card. The Framedropps are gone.
