same but different… lol…
Systematically went through the NEW ffb features to see what they do(I set all the rest of the old ffb settings to the same values as before the update so I could see/feel the difference)… Used the Prague/550 Porsche in Rivals… Hardcore/Sim steering… Same pre-update car set-up and did not alter the pre-update set-up… Once I had the NEW ffb settings dialed in to my preference I actually improved my laptime over the pre-update time(which was my absolute best time)… Due to the “new” ffb feel giving better feedback to the driver perhaps?.. It seems like it…
Pre-update ffb settings I could “feel” the effect of understeer, the effect of the rear end coming around, bumps, curbs, weight transfer front to back/back to front/side to side, the sensation of going airborn, tire scrub(especially when sliding sideways. It felt like sidewall flex), the “hit” when power shifting 1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd gear, impacts from crashing, locking up the brakes, various vibrations etc…
With the NEW ffb, I still feel those things, but somehow it “feels” different. The balance of the weight of the car when turning feels different… placebo effect perhaps?..
Did the new Rivals with the new BMW… Used the same car set-up tuning procedure as I did pre-ffb update and it seems to work fine with the new ffb update…
Need to try the Alps/Dodge Ram pick-up Rivals since that truck has/had a more “wallowy” feel to it compared to most cars and see how that feels with the new ffb…
I had my TMX for about 2 1/2 years now. No idea what firmware it has. It seems to be working fine with the NEW ffb update…
Admit I was getting kind of burnt out on FM7 but with the new look and new “feel”, to me it’s almost like a brand new game, minus the price tag and new game grind to build credits…
Christmas came early this year…
…my 2 cents…
Also noticed the base of my wheel runs a lot cooler now… Before it would get 130F+, and that’s just the outer shell so the internals must be way hotter. I would have to take a break and watch replays to let it cool down before another round… Now it gets just slightly warmer than room temp…
