Needing some urgent help, Horizon 2 not syncing data.

Hey guys, first ever issue I’ve had with Horizon 2 and it seems to be the worst possible thing that can happen. My Forza Horizon 2 is not syncing data, it doesn’t even show a percentage. Just a flashing bar.

Does anyone know a way to fix this, I’m really hoping I do not have to start again and it’s a lot of time lost.

EDIT: I’ve tested things such as my connection, my multiplayer connection and my detailed network statistics etc… and everything is good. I’m not having any problems with my connection. I’ve hard reset my console as well (power button for 10 seconds.)

Have you unplugged your console from the power brick too? Had the same issues and finaly that helped…
Push the power button til OFF,then unplugg the console from electricity,give it 30 seconds,then plug in and start it the normal way… (crossed fingers for you)

Giving that a go, hopefully it works, if not I will try again later.

Hope I don’t have to start again.

No luck, still continues to say Syncing data for Forza Horizon 2, I don’t want to think of the worst outcome but it seems that outcome may be reality.

As I said above, console is being turned off now and I will try again after I’ve slept.

A friend of mine had the same/similar issue and had to reinstall. As long as you don’t delete your save data, you shouldn’t have to start over.

I usually walk away and come back minutes / hours later and it has synced.

Don’t stress it not showing a number. Mine seems to do nothing but then all of a sudden syncs.

I have said this to many people - it never actually freezes - it just looks like it does. Give it time and sometimes that means a lot of time.

Thanks for the reassurance, I’ve got the game reinstalling currently so when it’s done I shall leave it on and let it sync for a while

Also should I be able to see a gamesave when I go to manage the game? I’ve never checked so I don’t know.

All I can see when I manage the game is

Forza Horizon 2 Ultimate Edition (the game)/All the other downloadable content

The right hand third of the screen should be grey instead of black and list your save there (will have your GT and a size in MB).

Okay, I’ve just got the message on the Sync screen ‘We were unable to get your latest saved data’.

I have a feeling that the I got a refund for Halo and went through some troubleshooting steps this has something to do with it as it worked before. This sucks so much!

I had a similar incident last week. The difference was my pins and friends would not display as well. I came across a few suggestions. One I was already doing. I disabled the option in settings for Xbox One to resume when it restarts previously. Did this after my first and only Forza 5 issue. Never had a problem with FM5 after that. The second suggestion was to enable alternate mac address under network settings. This did not work for me. The third was to perform a hard reboot. This didn’t work either. Not sure I did it right so I unplugged the console and waited for 30 seconds then plugged it back in. I think 10 seconds is the requirement. That resolved my missing pins and friends not being able to load. I think FH2 servers had an issue at the time as well cause play was extremely laggy before my issues started. I turned it off and played again the next night selecting the play offline option. FH2 did sync after loading the game and reaching free roam.

Had this issue too. Except when i finally got mine to sync it restarted the game from the beginning. Level 60 or 70 something down the drain. Not sure i want to do it all over again. If someone can tell me how to actually get ahold of turn 10 so i can see if they can restore a previous cloud save. That seems to be my only hope right now. feeling really down.

Also, don’t know why but after it did sync i got 3 msgs which where 3 Lamborghini Huracans. Don’t know why I got them.

You got them as it was part of the Boys and Girls club. You get 2 for being non-VIP and 3 for being VIP.

Anyway I appreciate your help everyone but it seems my save is gone, this is why I hate cloud and always will. It’s not reliable.

EDIT: It just started syncing and it’s at 58%, it seems there may be hope.

Now at 73%

Okay after waiting for 3-4 hours it started to sync. But it’s currently stuck at 100%.

Anyone got any suggestions for this? or should I just continue to wait it out?

Edit: just hit the power button on my console somehow, so here’s to another 4 hours of time t try and sync the data.

When that happens wait it out. It actually does not get stuck - it just takes a long time.

Also never cancel a sync. Let it attempt to sync and even if it looks stuck leave it. Only choose to cancel if it comes up with a message giving you that option.

So, you got to 100%. It should have completed. Are you having any network issues with other games? Do you know what caused it to start syncing? Did you lose or delete your save data?

Thx on the Huracans. I already had 3 of em. Two S1 and one S2. Don’t think I can sell em for cash. Maybe an S2 and X tune and something else.

I think everything is fine now. As it wasn’t working or gaining any percentage I just thought I would restart the game so I cancelled the sync and decided to keep playing.

The game loaded up and as far as I can see I have everything still. I then quick out of the game, restarted it’s not syncing data again.

I don’t know whether or not to restart my game.

Thanks SatNite, managed to get to 100% again, been here for about an hour now (Will leave it on for longer)

As I said above though. I did cancel the sync before and were able to play the game and everything was still there. So I really don’t know what’s going on haha. Just been a pain in the butt as it’s been the whole day doing this.

EDIT: and it’s just loaded! Wahoo! Time to do some painting before it messes up again haha
