I’ve enjoyed playing Forza 4 for a year or so now, and have accumulated a few cars that show up as ‘owned’ when you go onto 'choose car’from one of my houses or Horizon garage.
Whenever I choose a car that it says I already own, it takes me to a page where I can choose the colours / livery etc. None of the options have the logos I had the last time I used the car, even if it was only the day before.
Whichever colours I choose, it then asks me if I want to pay the full amount for the car again (in CR)
Is this normal or a bug? It happens whether I paid or won a car. Whether it was adjusted or not. I don’t want to enter a race in it, just drive about.
I don’t understand how / why it would say I ‘own’ it, if I have to buy it in full every time I change. For example, I drive the Audi TTS all the time, but to give my dad a go yesterday, I bought a little slow Fiat. Today, when I want to drive my Audi again, it says I own it, but then wants full price to swap it back.
I don’t mind if this is how the game works (although it seems pointless to say ‘owned’ then charge) but if it’s a bug or something I’m doing wrong, I’d appreciate advice?! : )
(XBox One X, Forza 4 Horizon that came with console, no DLC purchased)
You are supposed to change cars in ‘My Cars’, and then it is supposed to remember that you own it, and that you already painted it, and that you gave the car a tune.
It definitely sounds like you are in the Autoshow because the cars in your garage do not show up as “Owned” …because they are in your garage.
Check the top tab when you go to select a car. The “Garage” one should be highlighted. Then you go to the large square (ok, rectangle) that says “My Cars - your collection”.
If you are in a screen that shows cars you do not own…you are in the Autoshow or someplace where you buy cars…which is also why it is then taking you to pick out a livery afterward.
Sorry for the late reply everybody and thanks for the great info. Yes, I’d just been too daft to realise that I was being taken to the Autoshow menu each time and selecting ‘View All - Browse All Cars’ where my cars appeared as owned but had to be bought again. There are a number of unresolved queries on this subject on Google so for any future searchers, try pressing RB button and select ‘My Cars’ instead.
Apologies for wasting everyones’s time with such a school-boy error. I’ve never been much of a gamer and am struggling to get used to the XBox controls. My first computer was a 16Kb Commodore and you only had to use the arrow keys to move and the space bar to fire. I enjoyed the LucasArts point and click games of the 90s. These XBox controllers have 18 buttons and toggles to get used to. When I’m playing Red Dead, I end up accidently shooting the hotel owner when I’m trying to ask for a bath!
Loving Forza Horizons though. Worth the cost of the console alone imho.
I’d asked this as a seperate question but the moderators didn’t forward it. Is there a way I can play my own MP3s in the background rather than listen to the ‘radio channels’ in Forza, Xbox One X?
There’s a USB player that you can download as an App. It allows you to play your own MP3’s whilst playing a game. I think it’s just called USB Player, it’s black.
Not a problem, glad we could get you sorted out. I’m pretty sure that’s what we’re here for.
I’m an old hat, myself, and getting used to using a controller has been a trick. I’d rather set up on a wheel but from what I have heard, FH4 is not too wheel-friendly.
I don’t think there is a way to import music, but I will leave that up to the more experienced to answer.
Don’t know any way of putting your own music into game, except turning the in game radio off and play your own music in background via your fav player, or Spotify, …
Edit
Oops, I forgot you said console, don’t know what options they have about playing the music in background.
