I bought this game for my PC a few weeks back when it came out in much anticipation to play (I’ve held out from buying a Forza game since buying Forza 2 back in the day! HA). I bought the Deluxe Edition just to splurge a little and launched the game. My computer is defaulting to keyboard and mouse controls rather than my Xbox one controller that is plugged into my USB port (I’ve done this for every other game on my PC and its defaulted to the controller fine). I have tried launching the game and unplugging the mouse and keyboard to see if the controls would switch, but have only gotten messages saying “Please Connect Keyboard” or something like that. This has been extremely frustrating considering I have been itching to play this game for so long! I have checked my devices and printers and it is detecting my controller just fine and it says my drivers are up to date. If it matters, I am running windows 10 and a GTX970 GPU. I downloaded the game from the Microsoft Website and it seems to launch normally? (It just displays an image on my screen in a window until the actual game loads in, kinda simple on Microsoft’s part IMO). Not sure if this is normal. If someone has experienced this I would love some help, I can also be reached on Facebook if people dont check this forum regularly. Thanks
I have not tried wireless, as im not sure my PC has bluetooth capability. I have tried connecting it via wireless but have not had any luck (mostly because of this reason). The controller is being directly connected to my computer, I am using a cable from the charge port on the controller to the USB port on the front of my tower. It has worked for every racing game ive played thus far, but is not defaulting in FH4, talk about frustration.
Since you say it worked for other racing games, in the past, do you still have them installed and have you tried them recently to make sure it still does? Also, when you plug the controller in via the usb port, does your computer detect it? If you are unsure, look in your settings, under Devices (in windows 10), you should see the controller listed. If all of that looks good, then I am at a loss.
My controller is a newer one with bluetooth built in, but I use it mostly connected via USB and mine just works… I can use both my controller and keyboard/mouse, at the same time, so you shouldn’t need to disconnect them.
If none of this helps, there is another sub forum here for technical support that might be a better place to ask this question, or create a support ticket, by clicking the support area at the top of this site.
