Nascar differential

What are you guys running as far as differential is concerned? I’m running 20% ACCEL & 0% DECCEL… I’m pulling my hair out trying to get rid of that last little bit of on power oversteer & could use some knowledge from the gear heads!

From my experience the default 70/35 is a very good starting point, I rarely need to touch it and if only slightly.

Actually my rule of thumb for understeer/oversteer: it’s not the diff! If you are getting under/oversteer with default diff try adjusting springs/ARBs/dampers instead.

For Ovals 100/100

For ovals you don’t want 100/100, 30 acceleration and 0 deceleration give almost perfect control for almost every track, though usually anything mid range rpm and lower (from speed0 will give you oversteer but it’s controllable, I’m sure though 30/0 is stock isn’t it?

100/100 Works for me.

I have kept the Decel at ZERO, and, have been playing around with the Accel in the range of 30 thru 65, to get a better feel prior to settling in a smaller zone or a particular setting.

75/30 works nice at ovals but if you want to be more Dearing 100/0…

41/0 is the default setting for the Gen6 stock cars. I haven’t played around with oval settings/tunes & have been concentrating specifically on road course settings. I’ve got the overall settings of springs, sway bars, & shocks set pretty soft. The lower speeds, coming out of the corners, getting on power on tight corner exits, is where I’m getting the tire spin & I 100% am really going very soft on the throttle pressure. The tire spin isn’t horrible but I know the car should be able to hook up better coming out of those exits.

Listed below is the settings data for my road course tune:

  • P.I. Rating is at R898 simply because I like the stock NASCAR rims

  • Engine swapped to 5.9L race engine & horsepower is at 825hp… no removal of restrictor plates.

  • Race upgrades for everything & max tire width selected.

TUNE:

  • TIRE PRESSURE: FRONT @ 30.0 & REAR @ 29.0

  • CAMBER: FRONT @ 2.5 & REAR @ 2.0

  • TOE: FRONT @ 0.1 OUT & REAR @ 0.3 IN

  • CASTER @ 5.4

  • SWAY BARS/ ANTI-ROLL BARS: FRONT @ 10.63 & REAR @ 7.75

  • SPRINGS: FRONT @ 579.0 & REAR @ 300.4

  • RIDE HEIGHT: FRONT @ 3.5 & REAR @ 4.3

  • REBOUND: FRONT @ 6.7 & REAR @ 5.9

  • BUMP: FRONT @ 5.6 & REAR @ 3.4

  • AERO: MAX AERO

  • BRAKES: 50% BALANCE & 100% PRESSURE (I usually go 130% but I’m liking 100% on this car)

  • DIFFERENTIAL: ACCEL @ 20% & DECEL @ 0%

Try bump 4.6 front 2.2 rear and reduce accel diff by 2, then test, then another 2 etc. See if it helps without causing other issues.

That advice worked out perfectly… THANK YOU!!!

Roger that… thanks!!!

Tuned shared by DIXON sitting in 3rd at miami oval 100/100, oh and over 200mph in 1st gear, is this game a sim?

No

Its a bit rediculas ain’t it mate, not sure i wanna play it again because of this!

On the actual NASCAR cars the diff is locked both ways. Or 100/100 in game. But I think I have a couple tunes set at 100 accel and 0 decel on Ovals. And this seems to be a little wild at times coming out of corners like at Homestead and Indy. I think my Daytona is on default.

The thing with Oval tunes (for me anyways) there are timed lap tunes and race tunes. Because in the races I will sacrifice some speed for more control over the car. Mainly because there are so many squirrel’s chasing they’re nuts out there!
