My rig is not even capable for the low setting @768p wow

I booted up this game again and it said my system is not even capable for low however I’m pretty sure my rig is capable to run this game at medium considering the 750ti can do so easily, I’ve ignored the message but I still have poor performance. its a beta I understand but I’m sure I’m missing something here. running on the latest nvidia drivers too. this forum does not seem to have an option to have downloads so I’ll just put a download link on the bottom here if thats alright. thank you

Have you already checked your CPU, GPU and RAM utilization during the gameplay to see what’s the problem ?

And is your iGPU (Intel HD4600) really disabled ?
Because this could also be the problem, that your PC selects the iGPU instead the GPU .

And you can try it with (different) forced settings, instead the dynamic optimisation.

On the other hand, your GPU has 2GB vRAM but only 128-bit memory interface width, which is a big bottleneck.

I’ve already monitored the cpu, gpu and ram usage and what I’ve seen is pretty weird.
first of all, the game pretty much only runs on 2 threads as core 0 and 3 are at 100% while the other 2 cores are just hovering at 3% or 0%. I’ve tried to make the game use the other cores however it just made my pc freeze so trying to even out the usage across all cores is pointless.
then we have the gpu not being utilized properly, I’m sure its being held back as my card barely breaks 55c during gameplay with forza apex with other games, it maxes out at 80c. it still even does so with the lowest settings I can put it at which is crazy. its a beta yes i know, but even after months, you’d think this would be fixed. could be because of the cpu bottleneck, T10 needs to fix their thread utilization.
as for ram, well, I only have 8 gb of ram and once apex loads up and I’m in the menu, it practically uses all of my ram(around 90% of ram being used) if I turn off pagefile the game will immediately close during the loading of a map and continue to crash at start up.
I do not plan to upgrade to 16gb anytime soon, highly doubt that is the problem. igpu is most certainly disabled too. I don’t know what to do about this and any help is appreciated. turn10s gotta do something about the performance issues or is there any workaround about this? thank you

CPU is bottlenecking the GPU…
You are running out of ram - hence the paging - hence the crashing when you disable the pagefile as the overflow has no where to go, except for windows to kill the running process to free up memory.
Buy a better GPU with more VRAM.

Its not T10’s fault you dont want to upgrade…

gonna throw my 2 cents in.

Im willing to sacrifice eye candy for fps

woah what, your game is working fine? it even utilizes all 4 threads? I’m very confused. especially with that 100 fps you get at medium. i at most get 20 fps@768p low settings and its absurd, my other game work like a charm and i dont know what is up with this.

You can check GPU usage using Nvidia Inspector. Make sure the driver is updated as well.

I have a solid 60 FPS average on i7-4710QM with 16 GB and GTX880M, 1920x1080 definition, dynamic optimization set to 60 FPS. So you should definitely go higher than that.

@Rallymen007
i have and apparently, its being “fully” utilised at 100% with vram usage maxing out at 2024 mb with it only reaching 60c(not 55c anymore i checked last night) and for some reason, I will always hover around the 15-20 fps mark no matter the settings, let it be 1080p maxed, 768p maxed, its always around the 20fps mark. does nvidia inspector have a profile for apex? or is it not able to inject anything coz of uwp?

You cannot max this game and you cannot run high textures or settings with only 2GB of VRAM. Guaranteed to create stutter and kill your framerate

Your system is fine, but you have to let the game manage settings dynamically. This is your best bet and how I got the best results with my fiddling at the time.

I tried it on a machine with an i7 6700k stock, 16GB of RAM and a GTX670 2GB OC. I was testing this video card in my machine for sale. RAM usage was just below 8GB, so make sure you don’t have anything else chewing up RAM in the background on your 8GB machine when you run the game. It should be fine for that aspect.

It ran fine @ 1920 x 1080. I selected forced resolution (so at least it was always native 1080p), set it to 60FPS target (this is important) and then let the game manage the settings on dynamic low/medium.

The worst hit you’ll notice is that reflections are poor. This was the most irritating thing to my eyes, but it’s a very performance sapping setting. Everything else ran like butter for the most part.

that doesnt seem to be the case for me, it still hovers around the 20 fps mark no matter what. if i may add, its only happening to the “main events” not in the free play. could this possibly be because the game has to load a video clip and somehow it messes up performance big time?

Maxed out VRAM is an issue indeed, but what I find most weird is that both CPU and GPU are running at 100% usage. If the game was CPU bound, GPU would be sitting there not doing a lot and vice versa in the case it was GPU bound.

There’s an Nvidia profile for Apex, if you’re running the latest version of the driver it should be there.

Shot in the dark, try to unplug controllers from your computer and launch the game. Maybe there’s some sort of hardware conflict going on somewhere.

it is very weird indeed that the gpu maxes out at 100% reaching the vram limit too BARELY breaking 60c, the controller is not the case though still doesnt perform well
