My first, semi-detailed paint job. 1969 Camaro SS

So I like matte finishes and I figured out that in order to achieve this, I have to paint the car in a matte special color such as carbon fiber matte. Then I apply huge vinyls in whatever color I want and bingo.

Anyway, this paint job took me a while to work out but I think I did okay. The stripes aren’t exactly how they should look in real life as the hood stripes are actually tapered by a 1-inch difference from the the front to back.

What do ya’ll think? Thanks for any input!

Looks great! A tip though, you do not need to use the matte CF and stretch vinyls over it to get that finish, just use the matte or two-tone matte finishes from the special paint menu. They will be red by default, but if you press the “X” button it will bring up sliders to adjust the hue, brightness, and saturation to make it any color you want. With the two-tone option, pressing “X” will bring up the base color to change, pressing “Y” will bring up the highlight color change. Happy painting buddy!

Oh man…I’ve been doing it all wrong! I didn’t realize you could change the color! Thanks a ton that’ll save me some time.

Good job on the stripes, we all start somewhere.

Thank you. Any tips on doing custom shapes and such? I knew the color of this car would be black so I had to make the parts I essentially wanted to “erase” or “cut away” on a full shape would have to be the same color as the car so it wouldn’t show. I wish there were a way to save those shapes or do it easier. That’s what took the most time.
