Music you stream or listen to while you race, especially Endurance Races?

Not sure how many folks listen to music while playing FM6, but I am definitely curious to know what people are listening to if they are.

I am always listening to music while playing, recently I have done two of the ‘Endurance Races’ in the Showcases, which can be a few hours long, I actually put a specific play list together for it. (By play list, I mean I created a few CD’s from my music collection, because I am one of those audio fussy snobs!)

I am really curious to know what music people listen to while they race, if they listen to music. I know Dragnet listens that All-Motörhead-Stream

What about the rest of you? I made a pile of credits on this last endurance race by using a few credit boosting Mods, I have a feeling I am going to do a lot of these. Hopefully I’ll find some interesting songs in your replies and try them out.

I’ve got Microsoft’s Groove music on PC here which gives me a huge selection to choose from. I’ve got it on Xbox too (both 360 and XBO) but I don’t think you can play games with the music in the background. Right now I’m listening to what I suppose you’d call ambiance music - artists like Lucette Bourdin, Gulan, Michael Stearns, Dan Pound etc.

Ha ha. Not for everyone, but I like it.

Cool, I have not found a way to play music within game as back ground, so I end up just passing the video feed from XBOX through to TV and Audio into the Home Theather from the CD player.
Haha, trust me, I am the LAST person that is going to poke fun at someones musical selections. I listen to a LOT of ‘not for everyone’ So long as each of us enjoys what we are listening to, that is all that matters!

@ L0CK3D – I do that often myself, as I have a lot (A LOT) of albums. Interesting selection you have there, I am familar with about 1/2 of it, might have to check some of those others out.

Few people like all of the music that I’m in to. It’s a bit of a strange collection, I admit.

If you like Rush and Tool, you might like Eidola. They just got signed to a small record label and had their first US tour this summer. Super nice guys and extremely talented. Degeneraterra is a brilliant album that just came out a few months ago, but I’d suggest skipping over track #1, for the first time listening to it.

When playing I listen to mainly

Hank Williams JR.

Waylon Jennings

Johnny Cash

I rarely if ever listen to music while I am racing, but if I ever do, your selections would be fine by me.

A close third to Waylon’s only two things in life that make it worth living, is a car tuned right as well.

Nice, I can already picture listening to ‘Ring of Fire’ in my next playlist

Completely depends on the mood I’m in or what it is I’m actually doing, although it generally consists of Modestep and Bring Me the Horizon more than anything. Sometimes listen to some of the older Radio 1 Essential Mixes too, the Netsky and Jack U ones are pretty good.

Driving with manuel transmission makes it hard to drive with loud music. I listen to the revs all the time.
However, I like to create my own race in free play, on the Indy oval. This is a really good time to play music while driving.

I have a couple of playlists, mostly filled with Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames and other great metal bands. There’s no chance of falling asleep behind the wheel, that’s for sure!

Nice, someone else mentioned Amon Amarth to me recently, I’ll have to check it out!

If you’re into melodic death metal, then you will have to check them out!
Some of my favorite songs from Amon Amarth is: Guardians of Asgaard, Deceiver of the Gods, Father of the Wolf and Twillight of the Thunder God.

I hope you will enjoy the music.

Gregorian chant or Baroque classical.

Of course you would!

I’d add Hammerfall to the first list. Plus Alestorm and Gloryhammer because anything with Christopher Bowes in will be really good, and often amusing too!

Cool thanks for the recomendations, I’ll track them down.

I am going to have to get your play-list

I have Google Play Music all access so I usually stream music. Lately I’ll pick a song and start a radio from it. Been listening to Miles Davis Some Kind of Blue radio. Also, Iwill listen to Sybil - Don’t Make Me Over radio (that’s 80’s R&B). Sometimes I’ll listen to Thievery Corporation radio (I listen to all types of music).

Sounds like it, good to have eclectic tastes, and a broad specturm of musical interests!
