Music in Forza Motorsport

As part of the 20th Anniversary update, a selection of iconic music from Forza Motorsport 3, 4, 5 and 6 has been added to the game’s soundtrack playlist. We also commissioned 3 entirely new sequences of music from Forza Motorsport 3-5 composer, Lance Hayes, which have also been added to the music playlist. You will hear these pieces before and after races, in the main menu, and when loading into events.

The music is Forza Motorsport is built from a playlist of songs, but each song is actually 5 different pieces of music. These 5 pieces of music play at different points in the game:

  1. Menus
  2. Pre Race - lower intensity
  3. Pre Race - higher intensity
  4. Post Race - podium
  5. Post Race - rewards

There are now a total of 20 songs in the game, adding up to 100 unique pieces of music. These are broken down as follows:

  • Songs 1-12 are the original songs composed for Forza Motorsport by Kaveh Cohen & Michael Nielsen, or by Peter Holmström.
  • Songs 13-15 are new songs composed by Lance Hayes for the 20th Anniversary update.
  • Song 16 contains 5 songs from Forza Motorsport 3, composed by Lance Hayes.
  • Song 17 contains 5 songs from Forza Motorsport 4, composed by Lance Hayes.
  • Song 18 contains music from Forza Motorsport 5, composed by Lance Hayes.
  • Song 19 contains music from Forza Motorsport 5, composed by John Broomhall.
  • Song 20 contains music from Forza Motorsport 6, composed by Kaveh Cohen & Michael Nielsen.

These 20 songs will play is sequence, with the song changing to the next song during the race. Once all 20 have played they will shuffle and repeat. Your position in the playlist is stored in your profile so will continue after the game is restarted.

Immediately had goosebumps when the first track hit

I was like, “that’s my jam from FM3!” So many great songs :folded_hands:

Love the new one with the heavy drums that plays right before the race starts. Gets you in the right mood for the warzone on turn 1.

Not sure what I heard, but one of the new (to me at least) tracks was so bad, I’ve just turned the music volume to 0.

The other stuff in this game from launch is drab (and possibly a little plagiarised?), but it never made me turn the music ‘off’ altogether.

I might be the only one, but I kinda really like the OST for FM23. I usually race or drive in this game with the music turned off anyway so I wasn’t too bummed out when I found out there was no in-game music during races and such. But the menu music for me is very “calm before the storm” that then builds to the pre- and post-race music.

Forza 2 soundtrack was the bomb. Hands down best out of all either motorsport or horizon.
I’ll give the new tracks a listen, but I play the game with 0 music so I can hear the tires.

Is it possible to list the track titles.

Alright… Now make with a new Forza Motorsport 20th Anniversary Soundtrack and, include ALL the music in the game. Even if you have to make arranged versions of the Menu music, I do not care. I need it.

And don’t just sell it on iTunes. Some of us get our music from Amazon Music and Bandcamp.

Forza Motorsport 5’s paddock music was :man_cook::kiss_mark::pinched_fingers:!

The songs may be short but, my goodness! They get me psyched!

Please bring ALL of them to FM23!

I’ve still not heard any of the added tracks in game yet

It didn’t work on my computer either (steam), even after the last update.

I launched on Xbox Series, and it worked.

Back on the PC, I had the integrity of the files checked (equivalent to repair/reinstall), and when I relaunched the game that was it, I had access to the new music.
