I’m sure they already have a creative vision for Forza Motorsport’s score, but personally I hope they go back to the ambient style of Forza Motorsport 6 for the menus. That’s still on my Spotify whereas I muted Forza Motorsport 7’s within the first month.

I agree. I really didn’t like how they shaked up the music in 7, but 6 was great. Menu music is probably the most important thing in Forza tbh because it sets the mood and will always be in the background while you are painting and upgrading cars.
Actually, anything that matches Forza 3-6 would be great.

Racing music?

I really liked Kaveh Cohen and Michael Nielsen’s composed soundtrack for Forza Motorsport 6. Really well done!

I prefer FM6 style.

Music in:

FM2 - nah
FM3 - very good
FM4 - very good
FM5 - good
FM6 - very good
FM7 - awful
FM teaser - sounded promising

But I think Forza doesn’t have racing music anymore? Why?

Even though I wasn’t too happy about paying to have them available it would be great if they took a leaf out of Tekken Tag Tournament 2’s book where they gave you the option to have previous Tekken games’ soundtracks play in the menus + stages instead if you wanted.

A custom playlist consisting of some of FM3’s + 4’s + 6’s would be fantastic, I know it probably means very little to some but part of FM4’s brilliance was the music accompanying it, starting up the game with EV, browsing the AH with Cold ATF or returning from a race into the menus to hear Paris-Rouen beginning was just brilliant and something no racing game before or since has given me.

I wouldn’t remember those memories so vividly if it was FM7’s soundtrack there, I wouldn’t want to remember it at all in fact.

Am i the only one who liked the FM2 soundtrack?

Spent so much time in the menus, tuning, painting, building and selling on the auction house, that those songs have been ingrained into my brain.

I liked it but picking a good selection of licensed music would be very difficult, music is a lot different now to how it was back in 2007.

Plus the most recent Forza game FH4 has in my opinion several of the worst songs I have ever heard in a video game, imagine what any of the previous FM games would be like with 'dontcha?..dontcha? playing in the menus or in the loading screens…eugh.

That’s funny because I can’t hear H4 music  I don’t know why and I loved every Horizon soundtrack until H4.

It was normal and great gaming soundtrack and I don’t understand why we don’t have it anymore… and for races. Gran turismo is great because of the music too. But maybe today is popular to have your own music? I am not sure.

You could almost say that FM2’s soundtrack was…

Off the hook!

I think I’ve ultimately muted the music in every Forza game I’ve played. It’s certainly no Ridge Racer…

I kinda liked FM1’s music, loved FM3 and 4’s music, but every other soundtrack onward has been kinda terrible. I kinda hope they bring back Lance Hayes and his ambient electronica style.

The hours spent playing these games can make an interesting soundtrack difficult to accomplish. If there are ten songs that are around 3 minutes long you have a half hour of music. Races can be set to be 15-45 minutes long which means you will hear all the dings quite often. I’d rather they implemented a way to pipe music into the game from external sources like pandora or Spotify and let me adjust the volume levels and EQ settings with the in-game menus. The Xbox 360 was good at this. It knew when to quiet the background music and bring up dialogue, the Xbox one does not do this well.

No soundtrack will suit everyone’s tastes and one aimed at pleasing everyone will end up bland and dis interesting to most. Just let me pipe in the tunes I like to drive to, and I will be very happy.

Gran turismo sport has 65+ racing songs which is pretty good for that small game. Full GT or Forza could have around 100 and it should be enough for normal racers.

Music is part of the game and it should fit the game. Sure, everything is boring after 1000+ hours but for normal gameplay it’s OK.

Being able to select music from previous Forza’s is great idea!

It’ll be FM6 mostly for me… Can’t stand FM7s music, i mute and spotify Hans Zimmer.

You reckon Hans Zimmer would be willing to do Motorsports soundtrack…he did Call of Duty.

That wold be EPIC.

I was a bit of a fan of the original Junkie XL soundtrack for the first game. I switch off the music in most games after the first week, so it’s more the menu music that I leave on. It had a bit of a heavier feel to it.
