Multiplayer race lenghts

How is this determined?

I’m asking because idk why Spa night and day in D class is 1 lap. The race literally takes 3 minutes to finish. I vote against the track everytime I see it pop up.

Some races take a lot longer to finish but by in large 2 laps on GP tracks is completely unacceptable. The race ends before it begins.

I’ve seen 2 laps of the Behemoth in some class hoppers. In the Can-Am League we get 6 laps of Spa sometimes. Both are long, but the former is loooooooong, and it takes a decent set of drivers to make a race out of it.

In higher classes I wouldn’t mind longer races as much. I’m comfortable doing 4 hour stints in those! I think we need more consistency and progression going through the classes.

I think most Hopper race durations seem fine, it looks like they have enough laps to guarantee 5 minutes of racing. I have noticed at B/600 that most of the Grand Prix circuits are only 2 laps long though, Silverstone and Sebring could get away with being 3.

Leagues should be longer in my opinion, 6 laps of Spa is great for giving players a chance to catch up and play the long game.

5 minutes is too short though I’ve noticed similar.

I just find it odd that in D class for example that some races take almost 10 minutes while others are way less. Frankly I think 10 minutes should be the minimum. It would be on par with some FPS games.

The sim league that ran for a weekend a while back had longer races and I really enjoyed that! Although I think they weren’t really long enough to allow for anyone to pit to repair damage without definitely finishing in last place. Races that last 10-15 mins would be awesome.

I generally only race in the leagues and I would love to see an increase in laps by at least one or two. My reason is a lot of 1st corner incidents result in being at or near the back which means it can take all race to catch back up, now this wouldn’t be to much of a problem if it was every now and again, but most of the time it’s a lot more often.

It feels odd doing just 4 laps of Laguna Seca followed by 6 laps of Spa at night. In general I think all the races apart from Spa and the big ring are a couple of laps too short, both in the hoppers and leagues.

Of course, once you start lapping idiots and rammers it gets less fun, but that happens already anyway.

Idk seems randomized.

I know that in A class, Spa is still two laps which is absolutely ridiculous. There’s been lots of odd numbers of laps throughout the duration of FM hoppers, this game seems to be no different.

I would prefer it if races were 10-15 minutes each.

The Forza GT lobby in FM5 did it right.
