Multiplayer menu has gotten worse since the update

It was bad before but its really getting ridiculous now. Half the time now you cant even see which track you are racing next as the lobby menu is covered with a random mix of floating bodywork pieces.

The black screen lasts longer as well, and the game crashing entirely when it goes into black screen is happening with increased frequency.

We just want a simple functional lobby menu that works, No fancy cars sitting in a pit lane, we don’t care about what driver suits other people have on. The lobby in FM6 was fine. If it isn’t broke …

If it is going to be that glitchy at least increase the timer or something, so inter-race car changes are not as fraught. Losing the rag with multiplayer completely at the moment.

I second this!

So I’m not the only one

Please feel free to write about it here https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst118742_-XBOX--Scrolling-through-cars--especially-in-lobbies--is-painfully-slow--since-release.aspx nobody is listening to us

Thank you!!! I thought it was just me. It’s horrible. Playing online is not even worth it. Have not played since it keeps crashing

Yep.

Amongst all the glitches and issues that other have experienced and documented within the game, this is the only one that I have experienced and with the game releasing in October, there’s no good excuse from T10 as to why this hasn’t been fixed.

I had a quick session on FM6 last night and it was so nice just scrolling through cars with no lag. I’m not sure FM7 will ever run as smooth as that because of the way the cars load onto the screen. Hopefully they go back to a more simplistic garage menu in FM8. I don’t even have 300 cars god knows how the ones with 700 cope.

You really have to plan ahead, and if you get that new “it’s raining cars!” glitch that completely covers the menu you’re screwed.

If I’m going to play S class, I’ll make sure every car I could possibly want to use has the tune on it I’m going to want, built to exactly 800 PI. Then I’ll go through my garage and any car I don’t want to use that has a PI of 800 will then get returned to stock or modified in a way that changes the PI from 800.

Then in between races when I get control again with 20 seconds left on the timer I go to select car, then quickly choose filter settings that bring my car’s to the top. Sort by: class, Filter by class: S, Filter by drive: set as desired

The cars at the very top will all be exactly 800 PI. Using the triggers you can go up and down 5 at a time, so you can quickly find your car. Then hopefully there’ll be enough time to change assists, so if you like running manual (no clutch) on cars with inherently quick shifting transmissions, you can do that.

Super annoying, stupendously bad design choices for virtually no benefit. Because even with what I described above sometimes it’s nice to be able to send a “good race” message to a great competitors or report a rammer, except that’s basically not possible even if you want to keep using the same car.

It’s horrible. Between the new glitch and the regular long loading times you’re lucky if you get 20 seconds to pick a new car. They need to extend the countdown or something in between tracks at least if they can’t fix the lag/loading times.

I’m gonna fire up Forza 7 again.
How much you wanna bet I’ll get in an S class lobby while others are almost done racing, I press the left stick to choose a track, while the others finish to vote I go choose a car I want to drive for all tracks, the track is chosen, I keep scrolling, everything keeps being unresponsive, screen turns black for like 10 seconds, then back on, then I select my car from the 2d images on the left of the screen, but the 3d model is not appearing in the center, and the clock keeps ticking, my freaking 3d car is not appearing, all I see is the pit in the background and the spinning circle in the middle of the screen…and then I’m kicked out of the lobby and back to the hopper selection menu with a “disconnect from lobby” message.

This is my daily routine. I learned it. It’s like this since the latest 2 patches.

Only 10% of the time I’m in Forza, I manage to race.

Thank you Turn 10, thank you very much.

And no, there’s no problem with my open NAT, my DMZ, my short ethernet cable, my other games, my xbox one, my ability to turn off the console completely and remove the cable for over 30 seconds to clear the cache, etc etc.

T10. FIX. YOUR. GAME.

Wow all them problems amazing you even bother I dont seem to have the problems like you do, I have had Black Screen Kick to Lobby and what not but not 90% of the time though mabey 20% of the time Then Again I’m only doing 1 race a week for the car or suit in Leagues perhaps that is why I have less problems.:+1: And could be a solution if MP dont work then dount use MP

Your solution is don’t play multiplayer? Really?:joy:
All of the animation in the prerace lobby is an awesome idea “if it works “ but sadly it doesn’t so T10 should just do away with it until they can make it run smoothly. I’m still laughing it’s your suggestion of just not using multiplayer what else are you going to do? :joy:

Yes I know its a top solution for anyone who dose not use MP but for thoes who do Keep your fingers Crossed they do some sort of patch that replaces the 3D car with a 2D pick, it would really speed thigs up. As well as freeing up some Memory and CPU Time, Would make things run smother all round. Or failing that reduce the 3D Image in Poly count and lower the Resolution of the Cars in the Menu. Would also free up Memory and other Resorces

Really, it’s a good thing that I grew up since Forza 3 (9 years already, wow), I got busier and I lost interest in playing the same title for hours and hours. Now, when I want to play forza I just do 2 or 3 races (the few times I manage to) and then I’m done. Or I fire up Bf1/Fifa18 for a couple of quick matches, or just turn off the xbox.

I can’t imagine myself if I had the same problem 9 years ago. I would go nuts and destroy the X360.

I’m sorry but most of the time Forza 7 is just unplayable. They solved the little grey car bug (took them a while), they solved the headlights off at night (took them a while), but after 5 full months they still haven’t fixed one of the most important aspects of multiplayer…which is the ability to do basic things like choose a car and do the rest of all tasks in lobbies (change setup, change driving assists, mute players, report bad behavior, vote to kick, etc) before the ridiculously short countdown to race.
Oh, and they still haven’t addressed the unsporting behavior issue in multiplayer. No sign of the penalties they promised before release.
The marshal program is, once again, a failure. I’ve seen more wreckers the last few weeks than I did when the game launched and during festivities.

Another reason to just give up playing.

I completely agree. Currently if there is a need to change cars and buy/select a tune the timer is cut very short due to the sequences that players have to go through at the end of each race. Watching the animation for everything plus the black screen about 10 secs into the timer cuts things very short.

Game has great potential but the glitches and issues are taking longer than most people will play forza 7 for to be fixed.

The lobby has real issues.
As noted, many are related to the game trying to insta-load every car as you scroll through your selections. Not necessary, Turn 10. load the 3D model after the user has remained on a car for more than 2 seconds, indicating that it’s a possible choice, if you must, but for gods sake let us scroll quickly by not trying to load every single 3d car model. Very frustrating UE.
Another thing that would really help is if the car sort filter would persist, at least while in a class-based lobby. With so little time between races to choose a car, saving time by remembering to sort cars by class instead of manufacturer (the least useful sorting method IMO) would really help (and ease the frustration of a repetitive task every time we go to the choose car screen).

+1²³ … its anoying . The Blackscrren issue is new to me but allways very long and then crash
I have a spectator bug too… After watching a race I sit in the next race in the car of another player and can do nothing. the car shows allways in the same compass direction and drives arround the circuit (forward backward sideways)the Rev Counter shows my input and i can shift but only the gear display changes … its strange …

[Mod Edit - Trolling removed - D]

Having completed the Elite championship, practically all achievements and level 42, multiplayer is all that’s left. Hotlapping gets boring quickly so Rivals doesn’t appeal to me. It has gotten to the point to where I want to race online but dread the process and the bugs to be able to race in multiplayer. Choosing a car and tune shouldn’t take over a minute. Racing the countdown timer before the next race is more intense than the actual race itself.

Bump …

issue still persists .

FIX THIS BLACKSCREEN ISSUE !!!

if i click to the the lobby (after a race) before the track is fully loaded i get the Blackscreen and i must restart the game … if i wait @ the afterrace screens (reward,rp etc) till the Track is loaded i get NO Blackscreen. Whats wrong ?

And fix this stupid Spectator BUG … THX
