This issue started last night for me. Played yesterday afternoon no issues. But last night around 9PM I tried to invite a friend to race online and I got a “Something went wrong” message. Same thing this morning. I’ve tried restarting the game, restarting the XBox, restarting the modem and router all to no avail. Seems to be selective as I can log into another account and do not get this message. I can also join multiplayer, just can’t invite anyone.
I race every weekend with this guy, Yesterday was unable to do so. I also got “something went wrong” message . I had a power outage the day before, so I asume the issue was my end. I tried everything on the internet I could find, Restart XBox, resart Moden, clear cache and even reset console, No joy. Today same thing switched to another profile. At first I was able to invite to game, then we went to B class lobby at Sunset Peninsula. But loads up Suzuka East kick my friend lobby crashs. I hope this can be fixed for next weekend.
This has happened since update 18. Also the game STILL drops people while in a party at random times when loading track. 18 months and STILL not fixed. Wow

My son and I, in a party had 2 races in featured multiplayer, then we where separated after getting a preveiw of Suzuka east, thing was next race was Sunset penisula. After that invites stopped working, then " Something went wrong " message appeared. So when I thought that the problem had been fix, turns out it had not been fix.

Online multiplayer games with friend is not working and servers want let me have a private race with anyone? How long will it be down for?
What menu are you in and what steps are you taking to trying to play with friends?
What error messages are you seeing?
Is anything not happening that you expect to happen but there aren’t any error messages?
Have you rebooted your device?

You go to online feature race press Y invite friends and come up with something went wrong!! Got it!
Then If you make your own private race for just u and your friend and create and lobby you go to invite friends and come up with the same something went wrong!! Got it!!

My friend ( Ax4x Bayless39 ) and myself race together every week end. Today we partied up and started racing, a few races in we where head to Silverstone. But he got sent to Suzuka east, he quickly quit the game, restarted the game and went back to racing. So we decided to restart game if we saw Suzuka east popup when we where not originanlly going there. After doing that 2 time we decide not to continue after each race, so we would skip race. We where able to continue racing. I no this is not a great solution but hope it helps others. We where racing Spec Touring Cars, as far as I can tell Suzuka East is not in the rotation.

Something messed up somewhere and people have weekend group races that they won’t be able to do! People will definitely not be happy

Been working fine for the past couple of weeks and then last night we started getting the something went wrong message again when trying to invite friends. So it seems this issue has not been completely resolved.
