Multiplayer crashing

Hello-

Just purchased Forza 7 and a driving rig to play online and I am pretty disappointed to find the type of behavior that goes on. Crashing is rampant. Granted I am new to the game I have raced cars (in real life) for about 12 years so I am used to driving clean. While playing online in the Endurance GT challenge it seems people would rather ram you coming into a corner rather than go around. Is there anything being done about this? Maybe I will need to invest in a new PC and go iRacing moving forward.

Last month, during the Forza Monthly stream, they showed off the Forza Race Regulations, a new system of penalties that will add time and potentially slow down and ghost drivers who are crashing and cutting the track.

No word on when this will be implemented in the game, but the video is promising and I think it will do a lot to reduce the number of sloppy drivers online.

They couldn’t promise it for november/december. At this point, it should be this month.

wagon911, your frustration is coming to an end. Don’t worry.

That would be great! I will keep an eye out for it.

If you want to race multiplayer, you bought the wrong game, just as I did. I’ve been waiting for over a year for them to do something meaningful about it. Listening again and again about how important it was to them, how they were going to fix it… soon.

The faces and voices changed over that time, apparently with the idea that they would put in some new mouth pieces to shore up the “oh, but this time we really are going to do something” angle.

In the meantime, my Gold Pass expired without getting a chance to use it. And I’ve had to see that incessant playschool low res nag screen EVERY SINGLE TIME I play FM7 just to remind me of the money I might as well have burned on the last pass, and why I’m getting ever more fed up with T10/MS and the FM franchise in general.

So yeah, if you want to play online without doing like the youtubers dodging the whole way and posting videos to laugh at the pathetic failed attempts at ramming, then you should probably try to return it and get GTS or one of the games that actually has a reasonable multiplayer racing game. I wish I had bailed out long ago rather than sticking it out this long…

That said, if you want to play solo, then that’s not too bad as long as you are ok with having no story line beyond “get more cars”. The AI leaves a lot to be desired, but as a playing field to race against, it is a lot better than you are likely to see online. I’ve also read some folks have a lot better experience by joining the right league, but I personally lack the level of commitment that would likely require.

Well that doesn’t sound good. I will give it another month or two and If things haven’t changed I will go to iRacing.
