Me and a few friends jumped on last night and could not figure it out.
The team adventure is broken IMO. 1. Nobody likes that team racing let’s be honest and 2. Nobody likes playing S1 and S2 over and over. Don’t even get me started on the inability to quit out after an ‘adventure’.
Today, I’ve heard something about Horizon life and free roam but I don’t get it.
Can anyone just clearly explain how me and 5 or 6 friends can select a few C, B and A class events to play? Managed it through private lobby but we want to race with other people as well, you know, like you used to be able to.
Also, what events can you play via multiplayer free roam? Are these just single events?
I find it hilarious how they consume 4 or 5 hours unnecessarily teaching you how to play the single player and then don’t tell you anything about multiplayer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Must say though, apart from this issue… what a game!
I think there’s a lot of people with this problem.
Played a 3 event championship last night in online free roam with 3 friends and 4 randoms. Only problem is we were in A Class Subarus and they where using S1 cars so it wasn’t that fun.
I don’t understand why I can’t set up 4 races of a specific class and open it up to the online community as well as my friends. Must be a way surely
That’s because nobody seems to know how to join. I have started a few pvp events myself and some rare times I even got one (once even two) players who joined. But I have absolutely no idea how to join the pvp somebody else created, yet even see IF a pvp was created.
Also, of the hundertthousand players online, the devs felt the need to restrict your potential opponents to the fourty guys in your freeroam. Great idea.
It’s a huge mess. One way to do what OP asks is to create a party in free roam and then go to any event on the map, selecting PvP and then selecting C, D car class, whatever you want. Then good luck finding players that want to do that exact event at that exact moment in those exact classes.
I don’t know why they felt the need to change anything multiplayer for FH4. It worked great in FH3. Now it feels like it’s been thrown together in the weeks leading up to release. You have a multiplayer world (Horizon Life), you have multiplayer events in this world (coop and pvp for all events), you have a dedicated multiplayer mode in addition to that (team adventure), which exists in both unranked and ranked modes and each of those has three varieties (games, races, both). Then you have this grandmaster racing thing in two flavors. Plus you can do private multiplayer races. All in all you have 11 different multiplayer modes in the game. If you count all events as their own (because players that look for one event can’t find players looking for a different event) you can add 69 on top, that’s 80 multiplayer lobbies totally separated from each other. It’s absolutely crazy and now you don’t wonder anymore why it is so hard to find players for most of them. To make matters worse: You can probably only do coop and pvp in Horizon Life with the people that are in your session, which never seem to be more than 50. So 50 players and you want to find a few for that one event out of 70. Forget about it, the best you can do is find someone for drag racing.
Seriously starting to look like Playground has reached the same point as Turn 10, where they would need three years to make the game but only get two (see how the route creator is coming in a month, not at launch, see how the menu says “businesses owned”, plural, but there is only one business in the game you can currently own).
We (The crew and I ) are having similar problems. Very frustrating!
The whole issue of PVP and picking a particular class of car to then be joined by someone with the next class higher is so frustrating.
The top post has explained the issues so well and I realize I am repeating the same stuff but I feel like you are doing everything possible to make me dislike the game.
