Just did my first Multiplayer Multi-class race. 60min Enduro at Kyalami with Proto H, P2 and GT2 cars. I selected the 488 GTE.
I was seriously worried it would be carnage with Proto & P2 cars showing no respect to GT cars and that with the weird penalty system, see my rating obliterated in the process.
I’ve got to say I was very surprised to see proper respect was shown for the most part across the classes.
Most seemed to understand that the slower cars get to just hold their line and don’t have to jump out of the way of the prototypes, though I did get softly bumped a few times by those who didn’t allow enough for the earlier braking points of the GT cars.
That remained so even when prototypes caught me in the middle of battles with other GT cars.
Seems for the most part driving standards are very good generally (can only speak for high safety rating lobbies as I haven’t been in the lower ones) which is great.
What’s been everyone else’s experience?
It would be cool if they could add more Proto H & P2 cars
This is good to know! I definitely have/had the same worries, but reading this I will have to give it a shot this weekend!
Have you tried the open class multiclass too? ABCs was my favourite lobby in FM7, really happy it’s back.
So far I’ve mostly sticked to the GT or TC series too, the balancing is really good (besides some outliers from time to time) and there’s a lot to choose from!
Open Class Multi-Class is feeling pretty good. They got staggered starts in too (slow classes go first), so classes all get spread out a bit more. It’s worth giving it a try!
It looked like slowest classes go first, and then like every 5-10s, the next group/class goes, until everyone has started. I was in the slowest class, so I didn’t see how much time went by for each group, but it was clear they were all staggered cause most had to catch up to my group (C class).
Just did my first race in multi class series and wow! Absolutely brought rejuvenated enjoyment to the game imo! Didnt have one mishap. Bob n weave through the lower class cars is crazy fun! On another note…the addition of the proximity radar has made a big difference in race. Noticing more people understanding giving room. All in all hell yea!!
As Sylai said the classes start after eachother with a delay per class.
In FM7 it was timed nicely so that by the end of the race all of the classes would finish around the same time. If you had a race with no or only minor issues you would be able to finish, even in the slowest class.
I just tried a multi class endurance at Le Mans with a C7R in a field of LMDH and P2. Just a fantastic hour of race with a lot of respect between the different classes. That’s what we like to have in MP.: respect and skills. Just impatient to try a MP endurance at Road Atlanta, Sebring and Daytona
I love only change I would make is the end of race
Now I know this is a new thing for forza and it may need developing into the code
Normally the leader is shown a white flag on his last lap once the leader crosses the line everyone finishes when THEY cross the line weather there lap and so on
I really appreciate all the hard work that going into this game pushing the capabilities of what the game can do and doing stuff even knowing the community will likely criticise you why
Credit where credit is due…the multi class racing is actually a rare W from T10, I’m really enjoying it and it’s feels fresh and new which lets be honest of late it’s very rare for T10 to actually get something right!
But it’s not perfect, obviously. Please for the love of god adjust the tyre deg because everyone is just doing no stop hard tyre option and it’s killing the racing. To me there is a choice of 3 simple fixes for T10:
1, increase the race length to 18-20 mins so we can catch no stoppers.
2, slow down the hard tyre compound or speed up the wear.
3, force at least one pit stop.
That way it won’t be nearly impossible to catch someone who hasn’t pitted as people have already caught on to this so everyone is on hard compound tyres which is killing the racing, I love having tyre strat as part of the racing complexity.
Ideally I’d like T10 to increase the time intervals between compounds to at least 2 seconds rather than 1.1-1.5 and make it so fuel amount actually affects lap time and tyre wear rather than the novelty it currently is.
Also race times of 10, 20, 30, 45 and 60 minutes would be perfect, or even 5, 10, 20, 40, 60 as the current 8, 16, 30 and 60 only really has pit stops on the latter 2.
Finally changing weather is so good for racing, please bring it back. That one Mugello race that used to have mixed weather was my favourite as it adds excitement, resetting of the pack and a new element to the game. Adding green inter tyres also greatly appreciated.
I personally don’t think so no, most cars on most tracks have less than 1.5 second difference per tyre compound and pit stops are 22 seconds plus so if you pit and someone doesn’t then you loose out as 16 minute races don’t have tyres go off enough.
I’m already bored of hard compound no stoppers dominating online racing.
