I don’t think they should change the grip levels of the tires because it will necessitate a full leaderboard wipe. Much easier to just have a 1 stop minimum. Or increase race length.
Yeah I don’t disagree with that, either minimum 1 pit stop or increase race length and problem easily solved.
They can increase fuel consumption multiplier to solve the pitting issue.
If tyre compounds were decoupled from car builds and instead locked to event types, this wouldn’t be an issue.
Went on last night after noticing the huge update, mainly hoping theyd seen sense and brought back open car class hoppers. Alas, no, but did see I could race A class in the new multi class race so gave it a go. Thought it was great fun! Clean racing, really enjoyed picking my way past the slower cars. And the penalty system is waaaay improved since the last time I played (months ago). I’d leave the tyre situation as is, dont mind choosing between nursing a hard tyre to the end or going for it on a softer tyre but with a pitstop. I still managed to destroy a set of hards at Sebring and had to tiptoe round on the last lap. Now if only they’d see sense and bring back open hoppers so I can race A class all the time, I’d be happy to ditch FM7. Nice to be positive about the game for once.
Edit. Well, what a shame, had another go today and 3 races in and the game crashes back to Xbox Home Screen. T10 should be ashamed that this is still happening. If there was any justice I’d be able to return this steaming pile for a full refund as it’s not fit for purpose.
I’ve tried the open multiclass event in A700 and it went quite well: just a couple of dork with powerbuild in S800 who could not handle their car and where bringing havok in the race, but most players play fair.
I had a similar experience in the multiclass races I did last night. I was really surprised to see people moving over and making proper turns. I actually changed my usual “gun it and hope” approached to apexing a turn when I see cars behind me on the radar. I hope the trend continues.
I like what I hear about clean multi-class races. I might even give multiplayer a shot for the first time in many months, despite no improvements to FRR (or at least no documented improvements)
So far in multiclass races (at least in open) everyone was driving lot safer, compared to normal open events, well main reason is reduced overall grip (street/sport tyre meta), and less meta sweats in lobby.
I’ve had a couple of good multi-class endurance races. Only raced in GT class so far. And apart from the very rare occaisional idiot in proto/lmp so just flies up the racing line expecting you to vanish it has been very clean.
A question, why doesn’t skill rating increase when doing multi class. Safety rating goes up and down no problem
10/10 feedback
Announcement: We’ve made backend changes to Forza Motorsport based on community feedback on Xbox Series X|S and PC and the following will be in effect upon restart of the game with no download necessary
- We’ve adjusted the scheduling cadence of Featured Multiplayer by increasing practice lengths for Endurance Races to 40 minutes and Long Race to 25 minutes. This is done to reduce the number of active races that overlap to mitigate some lobby size issues.
- This will also reduce Open Class Multi-Class & Long Race tire wear from 6x to 4x for more impactful tire strategies.
Thanks to all Forza Motorsport players for your continued support and feedback.
Thank you for the update Max! The community appreciates the attention to this issue.
Why change something that the community did not ask for?
In regards to the ABCS races, doesn’t this just mean even more people can now run a no stop strategy?
If anything, a mandatory stop should have been added.
Now people with race tyres can run a no stop strategy. So basically everyone can do it.
Honestly, multi-class races are not that long anyways for strategy/pit stop.
Yes,!we’re just back to compound being the Meta. Quali on soft and hard til end. Means all the META builds are back in play Shame it was nice seeing some variation. Oh well
Yeah, imagine my surprise yesterday when I was the only idiot doing a pitstop with 2xmedium. I haven’t played for weeks and just hoped in the game doing a few multiclass races.
I wen’t from 2nd in class to 5th out of 6 with my pitstop and was wondering how on earth people on hard tires could still go such a pace on a non stop strategie. Obviously everybody who knew what is going on went the full length on hard tires.
This just reminds me how bad the menus in this game often are. I was attempting to look up how many laps my race has (did some touring car and open class) and the menu point with information about the race doesn’t even mention how many laps, let alone other details like tire wear.
-edit-
I just figured out today you can comfortably go with mediums for 16min mutliclass using A-class. So there is basically no tire strategie left. You go mediums no stop.
This is seriously dumb.
Who is the community that asked for this in Open Multiclass?
Now noone stops. I even had S class people do full races on mediums with only 60% wear at the end. There is no strategy anymore.
Even worse with CDE classes this week.
Only enable x4 wear on long and endurance races.
Long open multiclass would be nice.
