Mulitplayer hoppers need moderating.

These forums are moderated so why not the hoppers? Let me explain how this could easily work although Turn 10 will probably take no notice.

Turn 10 could easily choose some volunteers from a long list of well known respected racers in the Forza community who spend many hrs in the hoppers. These volunteers wouldn’t have the power to enforce bans but they could have the option of instantly kicking a troublemaker out of the room. Now when I say troublemaker I do not mean someone who braked too late and smashes someone off the track. The type of people I mean is those with no intention of racing correctly and even hang back a lap to take everyone out. I was in an endurance Forza GT hopper yesterday and myself and my friend had to pit 4 times due to damage recieved from idiots.

Either Turn 10 do this or change it so anyone who is a lap behind becomes a ghost. At this current moment in time the multiplayer hoppers are unplayable.

Backmarkers should definitely be ghosted after the leader is 95% of track length ahead of them. Forza GT is fun, but the damage really kills the fun for me. I have just been sticking with A class and I am enjoying it because I usually start up front and can get around the first corner before getting slammed.

Why dont you use the vote to kick function as well as the report function

Very simple answer really. Vote to kick requires more than just my vote. Also helps if names appear above all the cars.

We need further action because obviously what you describe doesn’t work!

worked perfectly good for the lobby I was in on the weekend, after 1 race the crasher was kicked , even without any chat

With no name appearing above the car, how do you know who to kick ?

Why do you have no names above the cars
Try shutting your console down properly every now and then..i get that too if i haven’t fully shutdown after a couple of days
Usually you will be able to see which car it is anyway and see them in the end of race results as well

Multiplayer hoppers need the penalty (adjudication) system that T10 confirmed FM7 would have, back in June.

Sorry WSD, I didn’t know

Do you see T10 moderating lobbies even at the end life cycle of the game? I don’t.
Do you remember what happened to the marshal program? After 1 week it was over.

Since FM5 I’ve seen people being kicked only 2 times, and it’s because I was playing with friends in a lobby created by us.
Talby do you have proof that guy was kicked and didn’t just quit the lobby?
Is there a message appearing on screen in FM7?

Knowing the type of driver you are Ivor, I’d wait until Leagues launch.

Hoppers have too many fundamental issues to ever be a place where clean racing is guaranteed. I’ve had multiple nights of clean racing but I know I’m in the minority when it comes to that.

back in the fm2 days the pubblic lobbys made by users was much better , the " host " have the ability to kick out rammers directly at least, and can set the races better

You realize this has been the deal since the onset of on line racing… join a subscription monthly fee racer like iracing if you want that. You paid 60 bux for a game and thats what you get… cough up some serious coin if you want what you propose. Volunteering isnt going to work, forget that…

Exactly. If you jump into the cesspool that is online racing you are bound to see every kind of player and behavior. Don’t be shocked and don’t fool yourself that they are going to do much about it.

A ton of forza youtubers need to be given these moderation functions, people like super gt and the players from the JSR clan all want clean racing, giving these people kick abilities would make a big difference i believe, right now the forum also has community mods, don’t see why that can’t be done in game

The problem is there are way too many players and races for moderation to actually work. The only real solution is actual in race penalties and measures to stop corner cutting, ramming, etc. Contact penalties, off track penalties, and others can help. On top of this if 15 players start the race, the players who complete it should be given credit for a 15 player race, not an 8 player race after half the cutters and quitters leave.

It’s better than nothing. They tried this in 2016 with the marshal program but the main problem with that is that most of the marshals never played online, so they had little effect on the playerbase.

I remember doing a race in the Formula Ford league in Pinnacle, a notorious league for wreckers, but the marshal in there actually managed to keep the lobby relatively clean and actively kicked out idiots. Despite being a full lobby it still remains to this day one of the best public lobbies I have ever been in. It really perplexes me why they didn’t try to expand on this.

Forza has way too many players for moderation to effectively stop wrecking and corner cutting, better automatic systems would be the most effective way to deal with it.

All they need is public hosted lobbies. System worked great, but then they had to change to hoppers (I’m guess so people would need to buy DLC to keep going in hoppers?)
When it was public hosted lobbies, you found a group you liked to race with, and stayed. If an idiot came in to be disruptive he wouldn’t last. Just another example of Turn10 replacing a good system that worked with a heap of garbage that doesn’t. You’d think this was somehow complicated. They’re so dead set against something that works, I really don’t get it.

Marshaling isn’t practical until Spectate mode is added.

Real time penalties. Real penalties for going off track and making contact with other cars. Rear end someone and you should have a penalty. If the game can register vehicle damage to certain parts and areas of the vehicle it can determine who rear ended who.

So if you want to be disruptive you need to brake check people then. Hardly a solution. It’s pretty complicated to ascertain fault in a racing incident. Not nearly as simple as point of contact. They could try to implement a history collisions, but that doesn’t show intent, so you’re penalizing poor drivers, which Turn10 won’t do - especially given they’re currently trying to be as inclusive as possible.

Realistically, you’re better off to accept that hoppers have all kinds and do your best to have fun in them and let go the rest. Or if you can’t, befriend some other racers and only do private lobbies. The latter is probably the best solution, but it makes it tough to get into a race just when you want to.
