I tried the Endurance GT hopper friday and enjoyed it for the most part other than crashers. Hell I’m the type that if the leader and so forth are about to lap me which happened due to the fact I had to pit on 2nd lap from getting rear ended I gladly move over and let them by. It’s just good sportmanship. But I got frustrated with players who would intentionally smash into me while passing. So turned the game off and started playing Mad Max where I can drive a care, intentionally hit other cars, and shoot people in the face with a shotgun. I guess I’ll be back to the MP hoppers when Turn 10 fixes this.
GT Sport and PCars 2 have driver ratings which keep similar skill set drivers together in lobbies. Why can’t Forza do this? Have a system that keeps a record of points given for major wrecks, corner cutting. Maybe minor contact gives lower points. You get points removed from your record for so many clean laps. It would solve a lot of the hopper issues and keep all the rammers in the same lobby and they can ram each other until the cows come home.
Becuz forza is an arcade racer not simulation thats why.
While I agree in some sort of skill based matchmaking across the board there are problems it creates also. Just look at FM6 leagues, they divided groups by the most basic stats and only had 4-5 divisions. After the first year many of the top league hoppers were a ghost towns and that made it impossible to do bad enough to move down a division to get more people per race but still not brave the wide open hoppers.
Like I said I love the idea of skill based matchmaking but it has it’s downfalls as well.
Jesus christ your wasting your breath. Never gonna happen end of story
After 10 years, if Turn 10 hasn’t done anything yet about the vermin which infests their games, what makes anybody think they will do anything now or in the future? That’s the thing about having a past: it stays with you. Clean multiplayer racing is NOT a priority, it never has been, and the only thing which has suggested anything to the contrary is a brief mention or two in the summer about adjudication. After all, it’s not as if the game has ever attempted to teach players how to race or drive as they progress with their games.
It’s a car collecting game with some sim-like qualities.
In my experience it has been hit and miss with the hoppers. 2 days ago I was in the hoppers all night long and had a relatively good time. People were actually racing and not try to run a destruction derby. Then to my dismay this afternoon I decided to try and get a couple of races in before going to work…what a mistake probably one of the worst online racing experiences I have had EVER. guys were swerving all over the track to wreck people, not even trying to brake for corners, not even trying to pass cleanly without cutting in front of your car to try and wreck on way by it was a disaster… nothing new to add to conversation and this is not a new phenomenon in the world of Forza. It just sucks and there is no easy fix otherwise I believe it would have been implemented by now
There is an easy fix. Like I said in my original post anyone who falls one lap behind remains a ghost until they unlap themselves. I fully accept collisions are going to occur in mulitplayer. My real gripe is these idiots who hang back and wait for the leaders to come around on the next lap.
In my example it wasn’t retards hanging back it was guys on the same lap intentionally trying to wreck everything around them. Your ghosting idea would be fine for those who lag behind to grief people I am referring to the dummies who grief while on the same lap. Once you get put in the wall you try to recover end up catching up a second time to these guys and it happens again… you solution would do nothing in these instances. Although a reset a 0mph and a second of time would make a difference to at least give you a chance to put some distance between yourself and said griefer
