Was this game supposed to have motorcycles at some point and then the content got cut? Not sure why we have all this motocross gear.
Sorry it this was already answered, couldn’t find any answers to it online or here.

Just the ones in the motocross showcase. They’re scripted AI drivers.
No, pretty sure the devs have even said they have no interest in adding Motorcycles to Forza. The motorcycle clothing is likely just reusing the assets made for the motorcycle rider’s gear in the Showcase event.
I have a couple of sets, three I guess. I put them on whenever I’m in an open-frame type vehicle. The Ariel Nomad, the Polaris RZR, etc. It just makes a good look.
That being said, putting in true motorcycles would require entirely too much work considering the physics involved. Otherwise, you’d just be rolling over constantly. It’s a different game. But how much work would it take to put in an ATV…like say a Kawasaki Brute, or more-likely a Polaris Sportsman or Can-Am Outlander since they already have licensing in place from Polaris and Can-Am. The lower body has to be modeled, but they already do that with the Nomad. It would also be a kick to have some kind of golf cart to mod up. I mean, hey, they already have things like the Isetta, P50, and the Reliant, so why not?
Motorcycles would need an entirely new approach to the physics model which would limit playgrounds ability to add them to the game. A Swiss Army knife can open a wine bottle with its mini corkscrew attachment. But an actual corkscrew is quicker, easier, and more effective at the job. Forza Horizon already does an awful lot, which means each portion of the game gets less and less development as the overall title expands.
As much fun as motorcycles would be in Forza, I get why they’re not planning to include them. Still, maybe they could include a few as part of the AI traffic in the same way that they have large trucks the player can’t drive.
Not sure if it’s true, but I heard the way they implement 3 wheeled vehicles in the game, like the Peels or the Morgan, is to have a normal 4 wheeled vehicle, and just have 2 of the wheels close together to mimic a single wheel. I can’t imagine doing the same with bikes in the current version of the engine. They’d likely fall over. I don’t think the angular momentum necessary to keep a bike upright while in motion is fully modeled. Let alone when standing still. If you take some of the top-heavy cars out over the dunes, you’ll notice there’s a very slight self-righting action happening sometimes. They might be able to use that, but they’d have to really up the sensitivity. Maybe they could get it to work if they wanted to, but if they’re not interested… The only way Playground would do it is if Turn 10 decided to do it for the main series, and mandated them to follow suit.
And they’d have to rethink some of the character design for the riders. Poses, animations, clothing options. A helmet would likely be mandatory if for no other reason but to set an example for the kiddies.
And yeah. Come to think of it, how would they handle a spill? Do you just fall over? Or does your character fall off the bike and slide away, and have to walk back to it and get on? They’d have to implement the rag doll animations at a minimum, and the walking too, which isn’t currently in the game, unless they just decide to respawn.
On the other hand, there was an Isle of Man bike game that was a monthly Gold release a few months back that I tried out. It just didn’t grab me the way Forza does. So I could take it or leave it, personally.
My question wasn’t so much if it was possible or actually going to happen, just if they maybe dumped the idea last minute. But for the physics end, The Crew series has a pretty decent handling system for them, but I was just wondering why they’d include that stuff without giving us bikes. Thanks for the answers.
And that’s why the crew’s physics is terrible
I don’t necessarily believe The Crew (2) has bad physics, just a lot more arcade like. There’s nothing wrong with that when you look at where those physics came from (TDU series). They aren’t realistic, but neither is Forza. They are further down the arcade path than Forza.
On a side note, Ride 3 is where I get my motorcycle fix. It’s unfortunate that Polyphony only made 1 Tourist Trophy game.
I don’t believe that a game controller is a good way to control a motorbike. I’ve tried all sorts of bike games over the years and they all suffer from the same control issues. Riding a motorbike requires smoothness and precision. Much more so than in a car. And for anyone but a gaming demi-god that is next to impossible to achieve with a controller.
Love Horizon 4 and it’s by far the best racing game out there.
Not sure if it’s been asked before, but do you know if adding bikes to the game is a possibility?

Yeah, it would be cool if they had Harley Davidsons, Triumphs, Ducatis, BMW’s, Kawasawkis, Yamahas, Suzukis, Hondas, and maybe even a few old Indians…but no dice…maybe a spin off franchise …would be a way to go…a game for motorcycle racing by the same development team!
