Mosler MT900S

I just did a Senna/Centenario test before jumping on here … and it made me remember how much I like the Centenario. Awesome car in S2. It didn’t win, but it was close.

Senna … 0:56.649
Centenario … 0:56.907

They felt completely different. The Senna was much easier to drive because it felt underpowered, like if the next corner didn’t come soon enough it would start losing ground. It’s best on the twistier circuits for sure. It can win all the events here and it’s easy to drive, but if you’re not making good use of its grip advantage, it’ll be harder to catch up. If somebody can handle the Centenario, that’s one I’d recommend … but I dunno. They’re different.

BTW, for what’s worth, at Moorhead Wind Farm Circuit, the Centenario is close to the top of my S2 board and the Senna’s near the bottom. It’s a short lap but favors power a bit.

And the drivatars kept it closer in solo. About 3-4 seconds off pace per lap … about 3/4 of a lap down after 10 laps.

I just did 2 x 10 lap solo races to compare Senna and Centenario:
Centenario 57.908
Top 3 drivatars
58.208
58.693
58.076

Senna 56.874
Top 3 drivatars
57.224
57.207
57.207

I had another go at the trial using the Senna, but we got crushed by the drivatars, they were a massively higher standard than when I won the Mosler. The fastest drivatar won Holyrood in 5:17, whereas when I won the Mosler I’d managed to slow things down enough to cross the line in 5:32 ahead of all the drivatars. This time I never even caught the lead drivatar as my teammates were too good for me to overtake, while not being good enough to catch the drivatar themselves. In the last race I did catch the lead drivatar, but only after quite some time, and by that time we were too far ahead for me to be able to slow it down enough for anyone else to catch up. So we lost 3-0, there seems to be a major random element in drivatar standard.

What the times above show is that it’s essential to NOT use a fast car to go off the front and cause the drivatars to rubber band and match your fast times like they did with the times above, or you’ll just cause them to beat your teammates. In each race there was even one drivatar towards the bottom that went sub 56.

Good points. Another thing that affects drivatars a ton is how you drive them when they’re right in front of you. Failed pass attempts and aggressive driving that doesn’t result in a pass is usually rewarded with the drivatar getting a temporary acceleration boost. So if people up front keep doing that, drivatars run much better times. Making your moves count helps everybody in co op.

I run 10 laps with senna and centanario
Senna 57,224
centenario 57,825

It’s either my tune or my driving skills but centenario lose most of the time in first corner that i just can get even close as fast than i can get with senna and senna feel than it can get sub 57s lap with small tweak of tune.

I have done this now four times and im still wondering how badly some peoples can drive. I have use senna, centanario, laferrari and veyron <— that is also order what car handles best. Holyrood circuit and that last sprint i have won every time but i have never won that first sprint, either i make some stupid mistake or either ai or team mates run me out of checkpoint.

12 tries, finally done, Reward actually received for the first time ever. I didn’t have a team of useless wreckers for once. Never do this again PG. I want my 2 wasted hours of nothing back. I hope this event proves to you PG that teams is the worst idea you ever had. Keep the trial for your dumb clothing.

Just realized that the Centenario in which I ran 56.907 at Holyrood was the one I had the Ferrari V12 swap. I went back and did in my stock engined Centenario and the Porsche 918.

Centenario w/stock engine … 56.699
918 … 56.966

The engine swapped Centenario is lighter, but they’re so close everywhere that I can’t really say which is faster. Sometimes its just a better lap.

I’ve done the trial another couple of times to see if I can help other people to win it, and I think I’d be despairing right now if I hadn’t already won it. I just managed to slow things down for the Lakehurst Sprint such that I crossed the line in 1st place in 3:01, which is 20 secs slower than my best time. I had 3 drivatars backed up right behind me, and the next driver after that was a human, but even that wasn’t enough for that next human to catch those 3 drivatars.

I tested the Centenario against Senna on the Greendale Sprint, and the Senna was faster there as well, so for me at least, the Senna is faster for all 3 races. I also feel it’s a lot more forgiving with its higher grip and better braking, but maybe that’s just the tunes I’m using.

A key I believe with the Centenario is swap to the racing V12.

Best is to get in a convoy of 6 of your friends. Than it will be just you and your friends vs drivatars. I was going to later but I just didn’t want to wait for everyone. I will probably end up doing it later again to help them.

I’ve done it 6 times now, and the blue team won 3 of them, so a 50% success rate, showing it’s not THAT hard with the right tactics.

You just have to swallow your pride and drive for the team. In one race, I got rammed to the back of the humans early on, but there were 4 drivatars behind me! So the scoreboard said we had an easy win even with 2 drivatars in 2nd and 3rd, so I just sat where I was and kept the drivatars from passing me for the entire race to protect the players in front of me.

But there are limits to what you can do, obviously if you have too many people who finish behind all the drivatars every time, it might not be possible to win no matter what you do.

I dont use tactics as such. I just race to win and try to not interfere with my teammates.

I think I have won about 12 of 21 races. Podium a few more.

Out of those only won the championship twice.

As I’ve explained before, that will actually cause your team to lose, because it will make the drivatars faster due to rubber banding. The last two, we’ve been 2-0 up after the first two races, so I allowed myself a win in the final race. I’m surprised you haven’t won 21/21 with the times you’ve posted in this thread if you’re trying to win each race! Honestly, though, don’t underestimate how damaging it is for you to be doing those times at the front. When I let a teammate through into 1st place so I can hold up the drivatars behind them, if that player starts to open up a big gap, it becomes impossible for me to keep the drivatars behind me, they shoot past at some point with immense acceleration that I can’t match.

Sorry, it’s a racing game so I race.

But the drivatars are nowhere near me at the finish. If there is a rubber band it breaks.

When I race solo, they’re nowhere near me either, but the farther behind you they get, the faster they go, as you can see from the fastest lap times I posted.

I’m still on the fence if this is actually a racing game. Feels more Onrush to me as it stands. At least Onrush clearly lets you know that a racing game is what it is not.

lol

Another good car for this trial is the Zonda C. I just ran that, the Huayra BC and P1 at Holyrood.

Zonda C … 0:56.582
Huayra BC … 0:56.974
P1 … 0:57.292

The Zonda C and P1 are more on the power side. They cross the start/finish line about 20 mph up on the Senna, but that first turn is hairy. The Zonda handles better than the P1, I think a little worse than the Centenario, but it still set my best time in testing today.

Good luck to all still working on it and I’ll do some helping out later in the week.

Are those shared tunes? If they are, do you mind saying which ones? There’s a S2 rivals where the Zonda C is the LB car so it would be good to have a tune to try out for that. I tried a tune for the P1 from a tuner that I regard as generally reliable, but it was over 3 seconds off the FXX K for the Lakehurst Sprint.

I woke up on it today. I went 4 for 5 helping people out … and ran a 46.032 in a Centenario with the stock engine. It’s a little heavier, has a little more power, and a lot more torque, but I’m just not consistent enough to say which is better. This felt like an unusually good lap. I also did a 46.2 in the Zonda C during a trial today.

And about the Zonda C …

I set this Zonda up a while ago and when I just went in to look at the tune, I realized that it’s completely raw and un-fine-tuned. It’s basically a first drive setup that I guess I was satisfied with and put off fine tuning for later. Not only that, I was using the stock clutch when I could have added the race clutch and still been in S2. Still did 46.2 and drove nice. But I don’t really want to share unfinished tunes in the game, so I’ll just post the build and tune here so you or anybody can fiddle with it and make it better. A little more ride height might help in Holyrood’s turn #1.

Build …

AWD
Turbo
Widest front and rear tires
Race everything except no intercooler (so yes for full roll cage and I’m assuming that adding a race clutch won’t affect the tune much)

Tune …

Tires: 29.0/29.0 f/r
Gearing: Final drive - 2.96, Gears- 2.89, 1.99, 1.49, 1.15, 0.92, 0.75 … (looks like I only changed the final drive ratio from default … raw)
Alignment: Camber … -1.6/-1.0 f/r, Toe … 0.0/0.0, Caster angle … 5.0
ARBs: 6.05/16.06 f/r
Springs: 1099.7/1260.0 f/r, Ride height 3.0/2.9 f/r
Damping: Rebound 10.8/11.8 f/r, Bump 4.7/5.2 f/r
Aero: 417/637 f/r
Braking: Balance 50%, Pressure 80%
Diff: Front 28/0 a/d, Rear 80/75 a/d, Balance 64%

Caster angle and brake pressure are definitely starting points and not fine tuned. Fine tuning might not change them by much but I haven’t touched those since before the first drive.

I’verun the trial only once so far and clocked a clean 56.4 with my V12 swap Centenario.
Will test the Senna later but it is RWD so who knows. It should have the highest cornering speeds though.
