There may or may not be such a thread in the admin section and it may or may not be titled Dragnet’s Picks and it may or may not have been collecting posts dating all the way back to FM2.
Information on the inside tells me that, since his moderator status, ManteoMax has completely taken over the space. All corners of the admin section are inundated with spreadsheets, spreadsheets everywhere.
None of you are old enough or sufficiently prepared enough to stand before such wonders and be tested, lest you inevitably be found wanting.
That said, it’s been rumoured that there might well be a certain Twitter account one might follow wherein one might catch momentary tangential glimpses of these things and more.
I would hope some of them get banned for more than a week because it seems they need much, much longer to cool down, if they ever do at all. That is some nasty inside anger if you ask me
It’s safe to say that you cannot be a moderator on these forums long before you receive your first death threat. In my personal experience, I’ve found that correcting the spelling and grammar in their threats and returning them to the aggrieved party doesn’t go over quite so well. Some people just aren’t receptive to help it would appear.
I feel like that would apply to any gaming forum. Even in a relatively small community of one like Wurm Online (of which I’m the Lead Forum Moderator), I received one for removing a post.
The amount of verbal abuse you get for performing in your role, and again this is for any gaming forum, is astonishing at times.
Here’s a novel idea. Delete the thread after locking it and send them a PM explaining the details of emailing T10 about the situation. I’m tired of seeing the threads period.
A good idea in principle but one that doesn’t really help.
Without seeing any response, they’re more than likely to try posting the same again.
There would be no follow-on effect that might dissuade someone else from posting a similar thread about their own ban. (Bans tend to be done in large groups, hence, our seeing several ban threads at once and remember that you all here see only a minority of those postings.)
Sending a PM means I then have one of these orthographically and grammatically challenged gibbering baboons hammering away at my inbox. No, thank you.
