Moderators Petition

Yes, the golden boys of the Forza fourms who have every right to:

Delete several hundred words you spend 4 hours working on. (for people wond
Delete anything slightly offensive, in any way, to anyone.
They have the right to change your list of preferred cars in FM6 to 250 Skyline’s if they wish. Which turn 10 will obviously ignore (even GT6 has only 49, and that is far too many of one car).
They can lock threads IMMEDIATELY. I am not saying they will change your list. I am merely saying they CAN.

I believe that Moderator powers need to be reduced.

They:
Should not be allowed to lock a thread instantly. Instead they can complain for as long and as loud as they wish. They can tell you off. But they CANNOT modify unless ridiculous amounts of swearing occur.

They can remove posts that use excessive swearing and ban people who can do it continuously. But they cannot tell people off if they use an abrreviated example (f***) or a supplimentary word (fudge). We know what they mean. But children who use the site either won’t, or most likely won’t care (children swear A LOT these days)

P.S. This is a petition, so sign below if you agree (and the whole thing hasn’t been destroyed).

I agree.

Maybe just don’t be offensive to people?

Yes, they can. I don’t think they ever have.

So, should there be another group of people that the moderators must answer to? Maybe the Moderators’ Moderation Association?

Nah, the number of people breaking easy-to-follow forum rules just needs to be reduced.

Agreed! Give them a one minute timer, then launch fireworks as the lock makes that cute little clicking sound!

LIKE THIS?! AM I DOING IT RIGHT?!

But can the community members do that too? Why can the Mods tell you off but I can’t?

How about a single major curse word? 'Cause, you know, curse words aren’t permitted…

Not according to that little list of rules you agreed to when you signed up on these forums, but alrighty then…

I don’t. Can you explain?

Probably because “bloody” has the same impact as saying “Cheetos.”

You sure? Go try this forum’s Russian cousin then, the Soviet Forza forums. Everyone has moderation powers there, it’s so exciting!

Perhaps you should try said place so you don’t have to deal with the Mods that police here?

It is?! Viva la revolution!

The Mods haven’t edited a single thing in your post and they even signed the petition themselves. You sure they’re the problem here?

Is this a petition so that anyone can say what he wants, swears a “limited” amount of times or words, verbally attack the community as he wants, make useless ranting posts, post pictures as he wants, harass anyone he wants, tell us 100’s of times that he did not deserve a ban and …, kinda like some people are doing in parliament. If so, then sorry mate, can’t sign - both my 15 year old son and 11 year old daughter visit these forums, so I honestly prefer a civilised environment.

That’s what I got from reading the OP.

I’m in!!!

Maybe parents should take on some of the moderating load.

People like to fit in so the children are usually behaving to disguise their age a little.

The adults from our standpoint are generally far, far worse than the kids ever have been.

My apologies. I was not trying to say kids are worse than adults.

When I saw the OPs post I checked their post history out of interest. I did not see a lot of moderator interaction but I did see them post their age in one of their posts.

They happen to fall in the age bracket mentioned by FA Racing.

I found it ironic that FA Racing was trying to protect their children from something that a 14 year old wants to be allowed to do on a forum.

I am not trying to say anyone is better or worse than anyone else.

Quite ironic yes, but in this context, age has little to do with behaviour. It’s not about anyone’s age, it’s about the fact per se - what a person does [or wants to do]. The vulgar messages myself and quite a few other community members got from children on Xbox for refusing to give them unlocked designs or vinyls is multiple proof of that, so are child car bombers etc. What I’m trying to say is that the OP’s age is irrelevant, it’s what’s been suggested and the potential consequences thereof. Those who have children exposed daily to some modern media will understand. So I’m not trying to defend the moderators - it seems as if they can look after themselves. I’m trying to defend the status quo - that being a civilised environment on the forums (which is unlike some other related forums I’ve been to.

For the nuts and bolts issue here I am with you. The irony was meant in a jovial way.

There is another irony in a way in that my son has basically given the same rant as the OP, almost word for word, but to the deputy principal at his school and repeated it to me and his mum. He has begrudgingly decided to try and toe the line.

I am with you, the status quo is good.

I would actually love to link to a Status Quo song but I am worried that some of the lyrics may break forum rules

No offence taken and seriously no disrespect intended to you. Just been that I sat down with the kids one evening over holiday time playing Forza and a message pops up from a kid [knew him to be a kid from the forums] asking for an unlocked design of mine in the a/h. I kindly told him that I cannot, but that if there’s any other design I can help him with, I would gladly do so. The next minute a message pops up with some severe hate and vulgar content, needless to say my kids read half of it with me before I could stop. Ya I blocked him and reported, but then too late. A few weeks later the same kid was banned from the Forza forums by a moderator for continuous bad “speech”. From there and previous similar experience by myself and a few Friends here on the forums came my plea for that not to happen on these forums. My apologies if I sounded too strong, no disrespect intended.

; )

LOL, I wasn’t trying to get on you or anything SNE.

lol no worries. I didn’t want to head in a serious direction, other wise this may happen:
