Minimum System Requirements For Forza Apex

Hello. I really want to get forza 6 apex but I can’t because of the system requirements. Now I definitely would not call my computer “bad” or “slow”. It has 10 cores, eight gigabytes of ram and has a 64 bit operating system. That’s all ok. But this is where the problems start. My graphics card is the Radeon R6. It’s processor is 1.80 GHZ. These to are below the minimum system requirements which is bad. What my computer loses slightly in the graphics card and processer it regains almost completely with ten cores. It would still be able to run the but at maybe 40 - 50 fps instead of 60 fps which is still playable. Which is why you should definitely lower the system requirements in the future or make a version with slightly worse graphics. This would help out a lot of people I’m sure.

Thanks For Reading This.

Please take into consideration what I have said.

This game is all about the windows store and the unified platform between xbox and windows 10,dx12 will always be a minimum requirement and they will not release a dx11 version.
(at least not as long as they keep up hope of the store maybe taking off some day)

What cpu do you have that has 10 cores? Do have an AMD APU? Those only have 4 cpu cores (and 6 gpu cores) you will have to get a discrete card with dx12 support to play this game.

How do I get one of those?

Please post your dxdiag info file and somebody can tell you what’s the problem. …(how to)

Hello.

No matter how many cores your CPU has, when it comes to gaming performance it’s not the bests solution, because in most scenarios your 10 cores are just not supported.
And your build-in R6 iGPU is … ‘not good’ … see the game benchmarks at notebookcheck …

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-R6-Carrizo-Benchmarks.144290.0.html

Without any disrespect, but your laptop wasn’t designed for high-end-gaming, and unfortunatly the specs for FM6A are ‘pretty high’

Sry … but welcome to the ‘fantastic’ world of pc gaming :frowning:

Have you downloaded and tried the game or just assumed it wouldn’t work? Your graphics are DX 12 compatible so it just might work. Stated system requirements aren’t always accurate. For example , my rig doesn’t meet the posted minimum requirements for the new DOOM because it has an AMD 6300 CPU and the sys req’s say an 8 core FX 8320 is minimum. The game plays just fine. Give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised. No guarantees though.

Here is a quick summary of what you’ll need:

Money, lots of it.
Limitless time and patience.
More money, if you can dig it up. Check the sofa for loose change.
Consider selling your organs for money, which you can hand over to the software and hardware developer who you’ll be funding for the rest of your life.
Relatives can be pan-handled for donations, too. Developers don’t care where you get the cash, just get it and hand it over to them.

I used to be involved with PC gaming, to the tune of $3000-4000 a year on a steady stream of updates, not to mention countless hours of troubleshooting, driver installing, uodating, uninstalling ad-nauseum. Stick with a console, until developers find a way to reduce their life span. Maybe they’ll start charging for console firmware upgrades?

Sure, with PC gaming you can modify, tweak, update and customize virtually anytning you can think of but you also empty your wallet, expose yourself to every huckster, snake-oil salesman pushing the lastest garbage that will be out-dated within 6-months.

Did I mention you’ll need money? If you go this route you had better get used to throwing it out the window in huge, heaping fistfuls on a daily basis. Software and harware developers love, love, LOVE your money. They don’t like you, necessarily, because you’re all that’s between them and your money… Once they eliminate you they get easy access to your money…

There’s a term in the dictionary called “myopic”. Look it up. That’s what software developers are. They care little about the problems they create, the problems they introduce or the problems you’ll inevitably encounter. Their one and only care is their next big payday with what-ever shovelware they’re peddling, and what-ever doesn’t work or live up to their over-the-top hype will certainly not work in their next release, but they look forward to your participation in its release.

So, bottom line - the minimum system requirement is a huge, bottomless wallet.

Hugely overstated. You can buy a PC that will play every current game at High settings for $800-900 and that same machine will still be working for gaming at least 4 years later without any upgrades. You don’t need to obsess about always getting 60fps at the highest settings. You can play and enjoy games at 25-30FPS on the lowest settings and still have fun. I game a lot and average buying a new PC every 5-6 years without upgrading anything in between.

Don’t go by the game benchmarks at notebookcheck. My laptop performs better in every game than what they show for it. Also, don’t go by what they deem “playable”. In my experience, a minimum of 18 and an average of 25fps is very “playable”. There may be a few hitches here and there but so what? It’s a game, not real life or a movie.

Where the heck this person come from talking
about spending 3-4k every single year for computer upgrades to game lol
That’s good you went back to consoles cause you clearly were uninformed
about computer upgrade spending and wasted alot of money for nothing.

I just upgraded my system here’s the grocery list

i7 6700k skylake $385 (had i7 sandy bridge 2600k from 2012)
video card r9 290 (still using the same video card for last 2 years payed $350)
upgraded 16 gigs of ddr3 ram to 32 gigs (ddr4 corsair dominator $220 for 32 gigs at frys electronic
sandidsk 480 gig ssd at best buy $129
bought windows 10 last year for $119
motherboard msi gaming 5 z170 $149
watercooler antec h20 650 $79
4k monitor ive had for 2 years now ($600) wont need to upgrade for another 3 years more)

power supply thermaltake 850 watt tr2 rx and same brand case
ive had for 3 years now and wont need to upgrade for at least another 3 years possibly more.
payed $250 for both at the time.

now remember i did not have to overhal some of my gear. my 16 gig ddr 3 setup with i7 2600k
for 3+ years now still would have ran this game
but i chose to so i can run 4k graphics much better than before.

so you can see i spent roughly $1000 to upgrade to run 4k gaming smoother.
This new system will be good for another 3 years at least. I do plan on buying a
video card late next year though. and guess what. It will cost me 400 bucks for the whole year.
And that card will last me another 3 years.

sorry had to spell it all out for the noob who claims its necessary to spend $3000 to $4000 to upgrade your computer every single year to play games lol
I know this idiot is trolling, but there are people who really think this way and its for them as well.

also it doesn’t take hours to trouble shoot a pc to play games.
I know you been out of the loop for awhile, but games detect your hardware so you just install
and play the game lol.

will be glad to help anybody out in pc gaming just let me know.
Dont listen to the $3000-$4000 a year pc upgrade fools.

Because nothing defines “fun” more than playing a racing game at 18 fps.

If the game is playing smoothly, it doesn’t matter what the FPS is. (I’m not talking about occasional stutters or hitches, those are acceptable to me. It’s not reality after all). I usually don’t even check mine unless the game is struggling noticeably. It seems that 18fps usually is playable. 15 or below is where the real problems start.

Most modern games do a good job of setting defaults for your hardware. Apex, with it’s Dynamic feature, does an exceptional job of it and even adjusts settings “on the fly” or during gameplay to achieve a smooth experience.

xD xD xD

Sorry for the bump. I was hoping to play Apex with my new laptop (A10-8700P with a Radeon 6 integrated GPU, just like the one from the OP), but it seems I won´t reach the minimum required specs…

It’s that laptop GPU - unfortunately, it’s too weak. You need at least an R9 (either desktop or mobile) AMD GPU to cut the ketchup.
To those of you insisting that mobile GPUs don’t cut it, you are wrong.

Intel integrated GPUs that are supported by both DX12 and therefore Forza 6 Apex: Intel HD 4400 and later (basically Intel 4th-generation CPUs and later with integrated graphics core HD4xxx and later using driver 20.19.4444 or later (driver 20.19.4474 recommended); this includes CeleronG3220 and PentiumG3258 and above.

AMD mobile/desktop R9 GPUs with Radeon Crimson Edition 16 series (RCE 16.6.2 recommended).

NVidia GT and GTX 74x and later (including GTX8xxM) with Forceware 358 series and later (these have either NVidia Maxwell or Pascal GPU cores).

Hi,

I am having similar issues. I cannot download the game as Windows Store lists my machine as being below the minimum recommended hardware requirements. Here is my dxdiag summary:

I have removed what I think is unnecessary, if more info is needed I can add it. Any ideas as to where my laptop is below required spec?

You can try to disable your HD4600 iGPU to force a check with your HD8790M, but I’m pretty sure it is your CPU.
But even your HD8790M matches barely the minimum specs, or maybe is not supported.

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-8790M-vs-GeForce-GT-740M

Your i5-4200M performance is 20 -30 % below the minimum i3-4170:

You run … 2 Cores, 4 Threads @2.5 GHz
You need 2 Cores, 4 Threads @3.7 GHz

Your Dell Latitude E6540 is an almost 3 year old business model, you can’t expect to run ‘brand new’ games 2016 … sry.

Welcome to the wonderful world of PC gaming … :frowning:

Sorry about the bump, but wanted to ask is CPU i3 3225 (LAG1155) really too bad to Apex?

GPU is GTX770 4gb vram, so it should be DX12 compatible.

EDIT: I just noticed that Forza 6 apex requires 64-bit windows, so there’s the reason why it won’t work.
