Mikey3 GT Tunes. Online Racing/Rivals Tunes. Final Updates Before FH4. *UPDATED*

Hey all, I’m not sure whether there is still much demand for tunes on this game (as it’s in the latter stages of its life cycle), but I’m updating my tune list from the original I uploaded several months ago.

There are plenty of new tunes I have done over time, with a lot of the original tunes having either been reworked or deleted all together.

As before, tunes are split into 4 categories: Asphalt, Street, Mixed Surface and Cross Country. I tune mainly for online racing but a lot of the tunes have served me well in rivals too, with some achieving Top 10 times.

I’ve put a * next to the cars that are some of my personal favourites; either for being extremely competitive or just all round fun to drive.

UPDATED

I’ve used your Shelby Daytona tune and it’s very nicely balanced and gets to the front of the pack handily.

For me also, this is the first game that I’ve put some effort into tuning. Using tunes by people who know what they’re doing helps you learn what they could feel like.

Thanks for giving the Daytona a go mate. It’s always good to know what’s working and what isn’t.

Yeah I’ve found inspiration from other tuners too. Like you say, you can learn at times what a car is capable of from trying out tunes made by the more experienced tuners.

I’ve found for the most part it’s just trial and error. My B-Class Land Rover for example, I built 4 times the other day before I found the most competitive build. Then it was just a case of dialing it in. Thanks again anyway bud :+1:

Mikey, I’m surprised that you haven’t put your B Class Mazda MX5 Miata in the list (unless you haven’t really run it).
I’ve just put it just outside the top70 at Kiewa Valley Lake Loop (and left about about 2 to 2.5 seconds on the road). Based on chasing your ghosts elsewhere, you should be able to get closer to the top of the leaderboard

Edit: 10 minutes later and I find those 2.5 seconds and move it into the top50

Great run mate :+1: And thankyou for reminding me! I completely forgot about the little Miata. I have got a few more cars to add too.

Frustrating at times because I keep getting a message saying there are server problems so I can’t access my storefront and rivals at random times. Not sure if it’s a problem others are experiencing or just me. I’ll update with the MX-5 anyway. Thanks for giving it a run mate :+1::smiling_face:

Server has been like that for me as well lately. Thx Microsoft/T10/PG :3

Tried your Ford GT tune. It’s better than mine I need redo my tune soon :frowning: :stuck_out_tongue: Will try out others later.
I know your Prowler’s on top of a certain board but would also be a great idea if u could release another more-powerful build as it would be excellent all-rounder :slightly_smiling_face:

I will certainly have a look at a more powerful Prowler build. I think the current tune has a 5.7 handling stat so definitely more wriggle room for power if I sacrifice some handling.

I’m not sure if you’ve found the same but I’m finding that aiming roughly for a x.5 handling stat seems to produce balanced builds (i.e. 5.5 in B Class, 6.5 in A Class etc)

Thanks for trying out the Ford GT too matey :+1::smiling_face: I’m not as quick in it as you! Lol. I’ve seen your name towards the top of some rivals using your own tune. Out of all the classes, I seem to find asphalt and mixed surface in S1 to be the most challenging. I’m not sure if that’s down to my tuning ability in this class or my driving ability just abandons me lol. Thanks again anyway Corn3rer :+1::smiling_face:

I personally go for ~5.6 B (with exception of Torana), 6.5 A & 7.5 S1. We do think alike :stuck_out_tongue:

Mixed surface I always struggle lol this game’s dirt is nothing like in other rally games and I could never get my head around it.
Recently built a rally-tired MX-5 94’ S1 for tarmac (above average to decent car) which i felt to be one of my most successful shared tunes lately. Maybe you can build one and compare to mine, see if something can be figured out (maybe either by you or me :P).

Mixed Surface is always a struggling point for me too. Cross Country I really enjoy but mixed surface just seems to kill me lol. I think the Scout is the only vehicle I’ve found that I have full confidence in when approaching mixed surface.

I’ve tried your MX-5 and I love it! The grip in it is fantastic and you’re really able to get the power down quickly when accelerating out of the corners. Great work  I’ll try building one and see if the handling can be converted over to mixed surface. It’s hit that magic 7.5 stat so it could have some potential on the dirt.

Great shout on the Prowler too! Injected more power into it by losing some of the handling and got it to #1 on Rainforest Grand Sprint beating some glitched 22b’s along the way  Also got it to #3 on Figure Of Eight Circuit. I’ve uploaded the tune under ‘Asphalt more BHP’ :+1:

Mike, Corn3rer thought I’d jump in with an off-road version of the MX5 (which is shared) and then re-read the above comments only to realise that it was rally shod for tarmac. Haven’t pushed it around a tarmac circuit but was just outside the minute mark at Silver Sands figure 8 (can’t remember what it is called) and knocked 5 seconds of my previously time.

Mike, not sure how hard you pushed your Huracan HE around here (Byron Bay Switchback Scramble - S1 rivals) but my MX5 off road is only 0.43 behind you (I did have a dirty lap that was quicker by 0.2 so I’ve left a bit out on the circuit)

Hey Rob, I’ve downloaded your MX-5 tune mate. I plan to give it a run either later tonight or tomorrow. I’m always on the lookout for new S1 cars that are set up for dirt. The HE Huracan time must of been really old, I didn’t even know I’d run it in S1 Lol.

I’ve also been working on a new B Class build for MX-5. It appears to be quicker than my first attempt. I’ll upload it when I next get chance.

Two new S1 tunes have been uploaded to my SF. The first is a Nissan GT-R 93’. It’s a high grip asphalt build tuned with Byron Bays more grippy circuit tracks in mind. I believe it’s achieved a #46 time at East Suburbs Circuit, which for the most part is dominated by the Impreza’s and Evo’s.

Second tune is a Tesla Model S built for mixed surface. It currently sits at #7 on Mountain View Scramble and has been very competitive on several other tracks I have tested it on. Very easy and predictable to handle :+1::smiling_face:

Mike, the Tesla is fun to drive (hadn’t thought of using one before). I’ve just had a couple of runs around Yarra Valley’s Timber Mill Trail. It’s a bit big for the twisty stuff through here, but I’ve put it about 4 seconds down on your best time (2:37.7 to 2:33.4). With a bit more running, I might get closer to your time. Will try again in a day or so.

Thanks for giving it a try bud. I’ve just uploaded a mixed surface tune for the Quartz Regalia. Try getting that round the twisty stuff lol. Not the most ideal acceleration but it has insane handling. I tried it on Cooper Pedy Scramble and got it to #21. Mixed Surface seems to suit it really well but it’s certainly less competitive on pure Asphalt.

I also gave your MX-5 a run mate. After you mentioned it I thought I’d run it on Timber Mill Trail. I haven’t run all too much on this track so it gave me a chance to get more used to the track in general. It ran a 02:28.849 which was good for #32. I think stiffened up a little more it would certainly have the potential to go quicker. It’s a really fun drive though mate and really easy to handle. Great tune dude!:+1:

Mikey I’m building a XJS atm and just checked your tune’s stats. I somehow barely managed to keep max weight reduction with lvl 0 chassis, 1 less brake lvl while retaining TT so the car’s much lighter. Not sure if it might be a better option if tuned correctly I’ll test it out later.

Yeah definitely keep me updated  I think mine is running a lvl 2 weight reduction and lvl 1 chassis. I can’t remember where and what times I ran with it. I know it wasn’t a leaderboard killer (not in my hands anyway lol) but it was certainly competitive enough that I thought it worth keeping and sharing.

Thanks bud. Yeah I used the updated tune for that run. Has more power/slightly less handling than the original. I found it to be just over a second quicker than the original on this particular track. I uploaded the tune yesterday

I’d try stiffening the springs slightly to begin with mate. I know you built it for CC originally so I’m guessing the springs are quite soft. On the Asphalt sections it was struggling a little more in maintaining grip especially on a couple of the sections where there was a quick change of direction. Maybe just lower the ride height a little too. It really isn’t far from being spot on for these mixed surface tracks mate :+1::smiling_face:

Great run at Byron Bay Grand Tour Sprint. Was that with your modified B class MX5?

Which way do you think I should try to stiffen the S1 version, using ARBs or Springs or both?
