Mechanical issues terminal and non terminal

Have tue ability to have terminal issues happen in both singleplayer and private lobbies, the option to turn it off have non terminal or random terminal issues, have a slider to implement how common these issues occur, non terminal can be fixed by pitting, terminal ends your race.

Wouldnā€˜t pick a slider but have random patterns layed over specific predetermined chances for each oart breaking corresponding with the way you drive so basically best your car it beats you
Have common issues be common issues
So ā€ži dont think its gonna make itā€œ gets a meaning

Yes please.

Codemasters have terminal damage in their last few grid games, FM could do with it along with a updated damage model.

I came across an interesting term on YouTube - Mechanical Sympathy. It means what is sounds like, have sympathy for and take care of your machine because if you donā€™t, it will break down. In Forza currently, there is no need for new drivers to have any Mechanical Sympathy because the damage model is turned down. I understand there are modes that crank up the damage but they arenā€™t common in multiplayer and theyā€™re more the exception than the rule.

We hear the reviewers and streamers refer to games like iRacing and ACC as ā€œreal simsā€ while Forza is considered a simcade or arcade experience. If I was a fly on the wall, my guess is that Forza execs arenā€™t sure if itā€™s in the titleā€™s best long-term interest to make FM accessible to all the kiddos and casual players, which there are many more of, or to tune the game for more serious SIM racers. Personally, I have no idea what FMā€™a identity is. On one hand, you have granular tuning and customization options. Then on the other hand, the game behaves and feels like Mario Kart sometimes.

My suggestion is to commit to the serious SIM enthusiast, or at least peel off and have a dedicated ā€œArcade Zoneā€ where the bumper cars racers can have their fun. Iā€™ve seen the Steam numbers and my guess is that itā€™s harder to match racers of similar skill and intent when the user base is shrinking but the pieces are already in place if you think about it - skill & safety ratings & all. Please create an experience where you canā€™t drive, or at least race your car after crashing. Time penalties alone arenā€™t enough. Make the damage model more than just paint scratches, loose some tires and body panels after a crash. Itā€™s had a psychological impact on a driver and they respond with better behavior.

ā€œSerious SIM enthusiastsā€ have many sims to choose from.

Arcade racing enthusiasts have many arcade racers to choose from.

Simcade enthusiasts have fewer options, so let us at least have Forza & Gran Turismo please.

You like that people can crash in multiplayer without anything happening to their cars?

Yes.
Mechanical damage gives rammers even more power to instantly ruin races.
Without mechanical damage, I have a chance to recover & finish well after being rammed instead of limping around in a broken car.

Rammers donā€™t care about being penalized or damaging their own car.
Rammers donā€™t play to win by their racing skill.
Rammers play to make others lose.
Ruining things for others is some peopleā€™s idea of ā€œfun.ā€
