Regarding the oval, is anyone having inconsistency rev limiter issues? The highest I can get it to is 238mph, but occasionally it will cut out at 237 and even 236 on the front straight. I’m sitting at 38.340 at the moment.
I havent done the oval, I have an aversion to turning left. There was a number of posts earlier in this thread outlining using the telemetry to monitor exact rpm’s to avoid and how to also take certain lines to maintain rpm.
Getting closer to beating Josef’s time: 38:293 using sim steering and a few tweaks to deadzone settings. I would’ve had him but coming off turn 4 he had a bit more speed; however i’m pretty confident I’m able to beat his time, just trying my hardest to get max speed without hitting the limiter on the straights and make very smooth corner entry and exits, all with a standard controller.
I managed a 38.220 on the oval, I used 900DOR to make it easier to turn just enough without scrubbing too much speed, tried with and without sim damage but didn’t notice a difference.
900 on the DOR got mine at 420 or there abouts may give the 900 a whirl see if I can dump that 0,080 seconds to get ahead of the Bounty sitting in Position 808 at the moment. as I do seem to be dropping back on the corners slightly.
And I will say I did call it almost A oval track with a tune from Hell but at least no traffic😅. Stopping that throttel bounce not so easy but pretty well got that nailed down now.
i am not going to beat him on either track, but im fine with that. the biggest problem I have is the gp track. I cant bring myself to drive that far off the track. I can’t wait till the hand drawn limits go into effect.
Probably done as good as I’m gonna do. At the 10% on the oval, set with a wheel, can only get within a 1/10th of a second with controller.
Finally took off assisted brakes on GP track and raised my 1:16xxx to 1:12.571, moving from 47% to 13%. I don’t know if I can shave off .450 to get in the 10% group.
the first tire wall after the straight is in the way, get rid of it to use all the road, after the second straight the tire wall at the end is also in the way, you can use that entire section without penalty (which is what they are fixing now) so essentially, what you thought was the track actually isn’t the fastest route and actually isn’t the track. It sucks.

Got the message about JN passing me at the Indy GP, so gave it about 23 (or so) laps to get ahead by only 0:00.002 with a 1:09.867 (JN @ 1:09.869) …lol… A little luck I guess! Based on my laps, I could tell I have a some more time left, yet, not too much. Thus, hoping they all stop racing the event!
At the Indy Oval, I am at 38.348, 0:00.061 away from JN (@38.287) and 0:00.035 away from Hinchcliffe (@ 38.312). Hard to time my release on throttle so I do not rev bang, and, thus losing speed. Will give the Oval another try, yet, it takes a lot of laps to just get into the “groove”, then, focusing on how to control the speed prior to T1 and T3.
** Update → Oval now @ 38.314 (0.002 away from Hinchcliffe, 0.027 away from JN)…soooooo close (seems that way, yet, for the Oval…its a lot)!
Really can’t see myself running any more laps around the Oval, tbh I didn’t do that many anyway so I’m not even expecting to be in the top 10% by the time it finishes.
Sweating a bit on what Mr. Wickens will do on the GP circuit so I put some more effort into it & managed to find a whole second after about 4 sessions yesterday. Pleased with that & I think I can get into the 9’s…

Despite the brutality and struggling, I am really enjoying these Bounty Hunter events. I’m really only after the Chevy Super Sport in the Brickyard event. As long as I’m in the top 10% of the Grand Prix event, I am happy as I could do without the Driver Gear or car prizes for beating the Indycar drivers there. Regardless, I will still manage to push myself out there and try my best. Quote Newgarden “Will go faster.”
Regarding the top 10% on the leaderboard to get a prize, do you have to be 10.0% or better or just 10% on the leaderboard? I am at 10% on the leaderboard but if you do the math it’s 10.XX%, (slightly over 10.0%) on the oval. I’ve done a couple hundred laps and I’ve had enough.
Was wondering the same thing. I only really want the prize for beating him out of all the prizes on offer this time around but would rather have the challenge than getting it by default.
It didn’t seem to be that specific so I’ve taken it to be as long as it doesn’t say you’re in the top 11% then you’re fine.
