Maxwell's Speed Shop's "Zepp's Garage" Class Based Tunes, Hotrods and Drag Cars

Sorry for the lack of activity as of late. The Speed Shop is definitely full with many current projects. Everything from working on that GTA FF, trying for that 19.000 or quicker RWD Mile Drag, a few other drag cars, to several different Comp builds and tunes. I will share things as the seem worth sharing. Generally, if I end up happy with something, I will have and share or have already shared a paintjob for it as well.

For anyone following this, thank you very much for that!! It means alot. My stuff may not be the fastest, but it all should at least be fun to drive or look at.

I would like to suggest anyone that hasn’t already made themselves familiar with some of the Community Comps that I’ve been building and tuning for, I high recommend checking these out. They have become a staple for the community and to me, one of the best places to enjoy the game, really get better at building, tuning, racing and most importantly, meet some very good people!

Here’s links to the Comp threads

This is on Horizon but very much worth checking out!

This comp is full but should be a great one to follow. There will be some very good A Class tunes shared by very good tuners!!

https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst112811_Welcome-to-Hell-Tuning-Comp---Go--Go--Go----Taking-Reserves.aspx

I’ve been off and on most of the day today. Unfortunately I havent really taken the time to take any pics to sure, but I have shared a bunch of tunes and a few paintjobs to go with some of them.

Off hand, theres;

  • a newer version of the RWD GTX FF, updated paint as well

  • a '79 Z/28 RWD S799, twin turbo, consistant 8.4 at the test track

  • a Vintage GT Division tuned, A650 Shelby Dayton along with a paintjob

  • '67 Corner Hellcat S765 RWD Drag

That’s a start, there’s a few more. I’ll update this in a while. As always, feedback always welcome!!

Hopefully, I’ll have a chance to actually get some of these pics I’ve been wanting to post up this weekend. I have some new things shared. An A Class '95 ZR1, tuned for a Tuning Comp. I shared a BMW M2, tuned for the Sport Coupe Div HLR Hot Lap Challenges.

There’s a couple more things I’ve been working on and will update here once they’re up.

I just realized how much I have neglected to update my own garage post. This iteration if Forza has got me all sorts of out of rhythm. It’s just different enough that it’s been a challenge doing what I enjoy most, building and painting.

I’ve got many new cars shared. Drag and circuit alike. I’ll be updating over the weekend, either by direct post or copy paste from the xDeaDx Club Garage post.

As always, I’m always wanting input on my tunes so let me know what you thing!! Hope you enjoy whatever you try, if you do.

Here what I posted in the Garage thread the other day. I also will have many new drag tunes being posted up over the weekend.

I am thinking about a way to maximize the fun since there is an Unlimited Drag lobby in multiplayer right now. My thought is to throw out a “class” or “set of restrictions” here on this thread or in the Garage thread. Sort of a “standing call out” for anybody that wants to do some racing. I can’t really promise times I will be on, which is the purpose for the standing callout thing. Just join up in a lobby and run some races when there’s folks actually on at the same time. I won’t be running anything AWD with V10s and V12s. Maybe Mid R Class cars tops for the most part. 99% will be RWD, to me that is the challenge and the fun part of drag racing!

I want to stress, leave the big egos and agro trash talkin at the door. This is to have fun, not to start a list or get all trash talky. Just fun! That’s it. Also, considering that the lobby is unlimited it will have to be the honor system with builds. Although it’s pretty clear by PI and performance when something is not quite right.

I would say that for this weekend, Feb 23rd-4th, I would maybe have a couple different things to run. First, a typical drag car. Something Classic Muscle car type cars. Of course RWD ONLY, V8 only. Then something tuner car like. RWD/FWD only, No AWD, no V10 or V12.

So if you are checking this thread out, feel like just chillin and draggin, having fun running some cars, have some stuff ready and let’s go! Again, I can’t promise or guarantee when I will be on but I will be on quite a bit throughout the next few days.

Some stuff from the Garage thread,

I’ve been trying to find the most enjoyable way for me to play this game. All the while, xCriMinaLx and I have been doing as we have always done. Get in a party, decide on a build/car. Take a few minutes, build the car as agreed, each with our own twist/version. Then race each other. That has always been the most enjoyable part of the game followed very closely by the old rivals system. Be it being able to race your rivals ghost to the class based boards. It was such a fun back and forth coming home from work to see I have a friend’s ghost to chase down! That was just like getting in a lobby with xCriMinaLx.

Anyway, long story short, I have decided that I may as well start sharing the builds and tunes that I use in my races against xCriMinaLx. These are going to be saved as “ZvC” cars. When we build, like this first batch of cars, we build to something specific, but not necessarily a homogated car. Just whatever restriction we agree on at that time.

So my first batch of cars getting thrown out there;

'65 vs '65, just A Class vs A Class straight up,
'65 Mustang GT, 7.0 big block swap A700
'65 Mustang GT 6.2 swap, naturally aspirated A700

Birth of Grand Prix Division Breakout A700 vs
Maserati 8CT A700

Off Road Buggies Division Breakout C500 vs
Penhall Cholla C500

Modern Hot Hatch Division Breakout B600 vs
Vauxal Extra FWD B600

Supercar Championships Div Breakout S800 vs
#14 Holden VF S800

There are tons more that I haven’t shared yet but plan to throughout the next few weekends. I’ll try to post up pics when I can. I’m certain xCriMinaLx will be planning to do the same and share his versions of these cars as well. He, like me, would always welcome all thoughts on these shared cars. They’ll only get better if we know what to fix! Hope you all enjoy!

Since I’ve been running in the Hockenhiem Unlimited Drag lobby, I’m finding a different tune from my “street tunes” are needed. I will be sharing the lobby ones with Hockenheim Drag selected as the track. The others with just say “Outlaws” or “Street” or something non specific like that.

The street cars are being tuned for the “launch control” launch in a street/race track race. The Hock cars are tuned for a higher RPM launch or whatever is need to get off the line on that track.

Just figured I’d throw that out there. I also shared. ‘49 Merc, runs a good 9.2 or so. Working on a few more today with a bunch of paints shared. A lot from FM6 now up. As always, thanks for all support and feedback!!

Ps, gonna be throwing some cars, FE cars and other in the AH today. Needing to work up some building money!! Less than a mill left!!

I’ve been absent for quite a while. I had found that The features that had been ommited had truly effected my enjoyment of FM7. However, recent updates along with upcoming, mentioned changed have me finding a renewed excitement.

First of like to take a minute to thank Turn 10 for putting up an assortment or different drag lobbies. That has made online much more enjoyable.

Second, with what was released in the Forza Hub needed about the Experimental Drag Racing coming, I am very excited. I can’t wait to get some hands on time and very much appreciate that you will be listening to player feedback before going multiplayer with it.

As these features become available, what would be the best avenue for giving feedback? These forums? Can we, should we start a Drag Racing Subforum? Anyway, just some thoughts. Until there’s a dedicated thread, by all means anybody’s thoughts on what’s coming are welcome!

I’ve also been working in tons of new drag tunes. I’m finding my street tunes don’t really translate to track tunes. New tunes to be shared soon. I’d be happy with any feedback on any and all shared content. Tunes or paints.

Zepp

Ok, with the upcoming changes to the drag racing, if like to share a little of what if like to see happen or how I’d like to see things be implemented.

I am going to put each category on its own post to make it easier to like, quote or discuss. Lol, if ANYBODY is even reading this!

Thanks,
Zepp

Ps. I have a few new drag cars shared for FM7. Off hand there’s an Alfa 33, Monte Carlo, Chevy SS FE, Alfa Montreal, '69 Nova. There’s a few more. Have fun. Let me know what ya think!

Ok, first I’d like to talk about building and tuning.

I prefer having an open world, real time, interactive space to tune. I had some of the most fun working in cars using the open space at the air strip.

I’ll agree what I’d love to see may be a bit Horizon. Let’s take Sanoma for example. I’d love to be able to be in the staging lanes or pit area. Go through upgrades and tunes as ibtry different things. Drive from that area to the actual burn out box. Get your burn out done, light the tree and go!

Then end of race, drive the return road back to the pits. Get your time slip and make whatever changes needed. Just something to me that would make things very interactive. Work a whole build through this process. Maybe a skip button if you don’t want to drive back.

I think there should be multiplayer lobbies, whether they’re considered “test and tune” lobbies that work that way once multiplayer is up and running.

Upgrades

I think there should be specific upgrade paths. Circuit for Circuit, rally for rally, drift for drift and drag for drag. 2 things could be accomplished with this. 1, upgrades could be better suited for each different type of driving. That would give a much deeper experience. And 2, it would be a great way to sort cars in our garages to make it easier to navigate picking cars.

Next are my thoughts on drag upgrades. I’m prolly gonna get things called wrong. I’m not a real life drag racer. Never built a car, never claimed to. I’d LOVE to, don’t get that wrong. I just have to do it through Forza until that lotto ticket hits, Lol!

Anyway…

Wheels and tires.

We need to have true drag wheel and tire packages. The 4 inch wide front whèels and everything from DOT Street Drag tires to 275 Drag Radials to 36 x 16 Big tire monsters. I want to be able to throw some nice big tires under whatever car that they can fit under. Stop making some cars only have 215s as the widest tire. Again, drag specific. At least a nice 275 under a Civic! Lol

Real drag rims. Bead locks that aren’t head locks on the front. These aren’t monster trucks, lol.

Good physics and durability with the tires. If burnouts are gonna be in the game, make them worthwhile.

Body mods

It’s about time to throw in a few new spoiler options. Especially for muscle cars and drag racing. Alot of aero, well most aero for drag is way different than circuit racing.

It would be awesome to have glass or carbon fiber front ends, new scoops and intakes for turbos.

Good rear spoilers for drag.

Parachutes, even if it’s just for looks. I’d love to have them!

Engines

We need everything from LS engines and Coyotes to 700 plus cubic inch mountain motors. At least some of the crate engines available like 502. 572, 632. Again, drag specific stuff.

Induction

Huge turbos. Tunable boost single and twin turbos with a scramble button.

Bring back centrifugal super chargers. Who doesn’t love the sound of a giant Procharger! Again, tunable. Same for the roots style blowers.

Bring NOS in but NOT like Need for Speed! Make it realistic, again tunable.

There are so many options of how to get power be it a ridiculously huge turbo on a Rotary engine to a 750 cubic inch monster with 3 kits. I would love to be able to have a nice variety of choices.

Chassis Upgrades.

This is where I will get things wrong, in words.

We should be able to back half MOST cars. Cars that make sense, no RZRs or the like.

Narrowing the rear end

Ladder bars, 4 link suspensions fully adjustable.

Wheelie bars. Adjustable.

Better physics. Not the “raise everything as high as possible” method of tuning!

For now, finally, once it come to it, multiplayer.

Make it so cars that should race against each other, actually race each other.

I refer back to the RZR comment from previous post. Since the addition of the RWD lobby, I have done a good amount of racing. It’s been a lot of fun. The things I have seen that is want to see changed are;

  1. Make some sort of class system. Something to keep the RZRs with the RZRs. I’m not suggesting go full division on it, but maybe a power to weight restriction. Maybe just a weight or wheelbase restriction.

  2. Make the in between races less clunky. Turn 10 mentions the quick, get right back to racing part. That’s cool for in between heats. But in between races, even with the maybe 2-3 minutes there is maybe 10 seconds to search through all your cars to hopefully find what you want in time.

I just want a sorted garage and enough time in between tracks to pick what I want to run.

I’m sure I will think of other stuff but thats it for now. Please add to anything or throw out your 2 cents!

May have quoted these in the wrong order but still, please let’s keep the drag racing momentum going. Everybody that has something to throw out there.

Yep. Quotes in the wrong order. But they’re separate to be able.to quote just one thing instead of all of it for a point.
