In a lot of other games/sims (Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, etc.), even when your transmission is set to automatic, you can press the manual shift buttons and they still work. If you’re way out of range (over-revving/lugging) it’ll automatically shift back to where it was, but if you’re within a reasonable range it’ll let you manually change the gear. This is a really nice feature, it lets you play on automatic and not worry about shifting but also allows you to correct the car if the automatic logic makes a bad shift.
It’d be nice to have, and I think it’s been asked for in the past. Might be worth putting up for vote in the suggestions forum.
Gets my vote, absolutely.
So @fsendventd @Ti_Hsien , has a suggestion thread been posted? If so let’s get the link posted here if not let’s get one up.
So let me get this straight…you want all the advantages of automatic transmission+all the advantages of manual transmission?
Its not about advantages but its about disadvantage of the automatic shifting. Especially on corner exit you sometimes want to shift down one gear because the automatic choosed the wrong gear.
The prerelease communication from the devs was that driving aids doesn’t create disadvantages anymore but in fact they still do.
Afaik FH and FM are the only mayor racinggames doesn’t allow manual shifting with automatic on.
just vote here in the suggestions hub:
Did my voting duty!
I actually didn’t think far enough to consider it an accessibility option. I just saw it as another thing to take advantage over us silly people who race without assists. So I guess I agree…
