Management App for Tunings and Laptimes

Hey guys,

I am searching for some beta tester.
I have developed an android app for managing tunings and laptimes.
You can share your tunings with friends.
You can select very fast your best car and tune for the given track in multiplayer.
Open beta has started for the free demo version.

Greetings
Sensei Hans

is it in english anywhere? I’d have a hard time using it otherwise.

I dont understand a word,…

.
Swap it over to iOS, plus the English, would help you get a lot more testers!!

The download does not work…tried downloading it to an Android tablet.
.

I want to take it also on IPhone and IPad, but i want to finish it on android first.
It is my first app and i am still learning.
It took me so far a lot of sleep because i write the app at night.

The fact that you’re taking this much of your personal time to put out a free app that could help other players keep their game in better order is pretty stand up in my book. Like i said up there, I’ve been using my laptop and excel to keep all my lap times, tunes and all the stuff I used to jot down in what has become 2 full notebooks and about half of a third one. So, even if I never use the app, thanks for your work into it. It’s things like this that make the Forza community the best of the best. I doubt you’ll see players helping the competition in other games as much you see it here.

No problem, I completely understand. I have an Android device so I will download it there. Then, in the future the iOS.

.

I have an app for that. i use an excel worksheet. I made a list of all tracks then the car i set my PB with, then that time, the top LB time and the fastest time and driver on my friends list. It took a little time except for the fastest driver on my friends list. That was just a whole bunch of copy and pasting greeksnipers GT. But now when tuning I have a reference of how I’m doing without having to toggle back and forth between the LB and test tracks. And I dont have to try and remember whar car is the best for any given track. So, do I think this makes me a bit of a Forza geek? Absolutely

Do you have specific formulas set up to help with tuning? Or do you just start playing with settings until you get faster lap times?

Hello,
the app Laptime manager for forza is in english and german available
Here is the direct link for testing:

I have build a few cool gimmicks in the app. For example you can send your tunings to a friend when you are not at home.

You can import tracklists and carlists. And you can export and import the entire database.

the app keeps crashing on me and im pretty sure i got confused a couple of times. theres a place that says tuning and i’m supposed to type something, i think??maybe there is some language breakdowns going from german to u.s. english. looks like you put a lot of work into it tho. nice job. ill try it again afterwhile

Hello Morarjay,

thanks for your reply, i think i have fixed this issue for now. But it takes some time to allow the update from google. within one day the update would be online and an info for an
available update will come to your handy.

I will make a documentation for the app. How to Use it.
I think i will translate my website to englisch.

Hello Hans,

I waited until you had an english version to try your app and I will jot down my feedback as I use it:

  1. The order of all the menus should be different. I found my first impression of the app to be unorganized and had to figure out what purpose each menu had and then understand what order to use the menus in.
*For example, I had no indication that I needed to input a car before inputting a tune. Many people will be confused without having something to guide them (A possible solution could be seen below at #5 of this list)

  2. If you try to update non-existing tunes, the app crashes.

  3. Your names for buttons need to be a bit more clear. I may just be stupid but it took me way too long to understand that I needed to input a car and label the tune and then tap “New tuning” to create a new tune. Instead of “new tuning”, you could say “create tune” and it would be easier to navigate.

  4. Tire and rim size for your car should be in the upgrade menu somehow, not the tuning menu. Thats just my opinion

  5. Keeping track of the menus is very slightly annoying, a tab with a list of the menus would be nice

I feel like the small quirks aside, this app is nice and it could be a very handy tool for many people. Once I can have more than 2 cars, I will certainly use it to keep track of my testing without using paper and a pen. Keep up the good work!

Hi,

thank you for your reply. This will helps me a lot.
To 1.) I will write this to my TODO List. ( I will think about a solution. It takes some time)
To 2.) I will fix this right now.
To 3.) I will fix this right now. Thank you for this info…
To 4.) You are right at this points. It should be in the Upgrade part. (I will set it on my todo list)
To 5.) You are right here too. You do not see how much menus there are. (I will think about an solution. It takes some time)

To “Once I can have more than 2 cars, I will certainly use it to keep track of my testing without using paper and a pen.”):
It is only the demo version. In the full Version you can import complete Track and Car Lists to the app. And there is no limit how much cars, tracks, tunings or games you put in.
For me… -->This sentence brings me a new idea to export a complete tuning/upgrade infolist for having a printable List with all tunings for each car with a existing tune.

Thank you very much for you’re cool testing.
So i can push it forward.

Would like to test it out but cannot download it from the updated link you gave. Will try again in the morning

Hi suprabeast,
Do you still have the problem with the download?

I recieved an update for the app and found it to be much easier to understand! Very well done and I appreciate the timely update. Great job so far Hans!

And to suprabeast1114 or anyone struggling to find the app in Android store, search “laptime manager”. It was the first result when I tried that

First thanks for your comment moparjay.

I have written a little documentation now.
It could be downloaded and shown in the app in the info section.

App is released now. Thanks to all beta testers. Please let me know if there are any issues to do.

My app apparently updated, yet, it does not have the functionality the “full version” has, thus, is limited to a couple of entries. So, it is really not useful. I thought it would be upgrading to the full version so I can check it out to it’s fullest extent. Thanks for the opportunity anyway.
