Does anyone else here keep having problems with this game? my xbox has a fit whenever im playing it but any other game i play its fine (except watch dogs, it wont play that at all now).
It constantly freezes if i restart a race, no amount of time will help… the console has to be reset. and sometimes it wont even start up, i have to reset the console a few times.
The only reason i bought an xbox one if for forza 5 as GT6 is pathetic.
Yes the game was updated and it’s all installed 100%.
Sometimes it also looks like the xbox didn’t shut down properly too, when I turn it on it stuck on the last thing I was in and then starts up and freezes and stuff. That might be a xbox issue though.
All games do that. the last thing played is what is on the home screen so that it can load back up faster. if you go into your settings and go to power saving mode, you can make it so that when you shut off your xbox, then it will shut down completely. doing that will clear the cache and when you play the game again it will load as if it were just placed in the drive (sorta speek). just remember that doing that will mean your xbox will take longer to load because it will have to reboot. Also there is no voice command when you want to turn it on. you will actually have to press the power button or the home button on controller. voice commands will work when xbox is on again, and you can command it to shut off, just not command it to turn on if you change those settings
Personally, I’ve never had any issues whatsoever with FM5. Working in IT for a long time, there are so many different things that can affect the operation of a computer that it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly what the cause of a problem is a lot of the time. One thing I noticed is that you said that sometimes it doesn’t look like the XB1 shut down properly … just wanted to ask … when you’re done playing, do you always quit the last game you’ve been playing? And I mean actually selecting the “Quit” option from the XB1 main menu for that game? XBox touts the ability to leave a game ‘on’ in the background so that when you come back in later, you can jump right back in where you were without having to load up the game again to continue. And XB1 does that by default. In my opinion, it’s always better to actually completely shut down all games and apps when not in use instead of leaving them in this ‘open in the background’ state. Too many things (not good things) can happen when programs are sitting there hour after hour waiting for various kinds of interaction and input. Just a thought …
If u turn off the quick startup it won’t take u back where u were before u shut down. Also try holding the power button for 5 seconds… I do that just about everyday and i cuts back on the issues
I think that’s one of my issues, not shutting down properly so I’ll hold the console switch for 5 seconds, and not quitting games which I don’t know how to do?
Ill do the above and see what issues are left with forza itself.
From home menu highlight app in center then press select button( I have no idea what it’s really called) and select quit. That will kill the app, press and hold x button on console until it shuts down that will do a full shutdown. These two things will solve 95% of issues. Sometimes you have to unplug power supply while shutdown but very rarely.
I have my box hooked up to a power strip that I shut off every night. It saves electric money while I’m sleeping, and ensures that the box does a hard shut down every night and doesn’t get backed up with data overlap from only ever going into sleep mode. Have never had a problem since I started doing that.
The best permanent solution is to change your consoles setting to energy save mode. On dash press menu button and choose settings. Go to power and startup in bottom right and change it to energy save mode.
This means when you turn your console off it is off. No need to pull any plugs and no need to hold power buttons for 5 secs.
I’ve had all sorts of problems with this game. I got a free download of it when I bought the console. It would get to a particular track (Laguna seca) and just before the map would load the game would send me back to the xbox1 dashboard. Did it ever time without fail. Tried deleting and reinstalling only for the same issue to happen with other tracks. I only recently solved the problem by buying a second hand disc for $10 and deleting the downloaded version permenatly. Haven’t had an issue since (fingers crossed). Whatever the problem was was with the downloadable version. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for turn 10 to help you as this issue has been around since at least January.
I should add I haven’t had a single problem with any other game and I have madden, need for speed, fifa14, titanfall (download) and watchdogs.
I am having problems with FM 5 it refuses to load. Worked perfectly for a month but now it reaches till the orange mclaren screen then it tries to log into my account but after about a minute it shows unknown error occurred please try after some time. Have reset the console several times after quitting all games and also reinstalled the game but this problem just refuses to go. All other games are working absolutely fine .
