I was reading along and someone mentioned that there are no longer tracks in online racing… I hadn’t thought about that. I would really like to see some longer races (maybe a config option on custom races). Either it’s a good idea or I’m just really missing playing FM7
People will get DNFed if they add long tracks, and many will quit. Even now with the all the tracks being short and some people still somehow get DNFed.
On this poll here I asked would you like short (default), long (Goliath, titan) or medium (in-between) length races. Interestingly the vast majority are favouring medium length.
Have they took the Titan out of rotation?
Also just in general I’d like longer races, 5 laps is the standard rate in the F1 games for example, obviously quicker cars + longer tracks but 5 laps soon goes by + gives everyone more time to get into the race instead of having to go all out attack from the very start.
Going off on a tangent I’d like longer tracks to be added too, some 3 mile+ circuits or 7 mile+ sprints would be great and I don’t know why PG have such an aversion to them, I don’t think any FH has had a single non-Finale track with those kind of distances yet.
In FM7 there are some great long races… One of the most nerve racking is taking formula type cars on the Nürburgring. All those turns at such high speeds. But fun!
Extend the finish countdown
Then
- Spectator mode.
- Let finished player load into next track to test run.
- If it is new champ then let people pick car and load setting earlier.
I think cutting 30sec or more in the result-dancing-screen should be fine.
I remember FM7 are already like this. There are no reason to wait everybody to load.
==========
Standard race cost 1
Longer race cost 2~3
total cost 5
1-1-1-1-1 (5races)
1-1-1-2 (4races)
1-1-3 (3races)
or maybe highend class like S1-S2 total cost bigger
so it is like 2-2-2-3 etc
I agree… and with FM7 you can check out the tunes (most of the time) on the other racers tunes and even get it right from the menu. I think that would be far better than watching dancing or the still images.
I am a software project manager so I was thinking about starting a thread where we can all contribute to a requirements gathering effort so we gather ideas and consensus on what would our ideal FH online racing experience. Anyone think its a good idea?
