Locked Threads

I don’t want to get banned or in trouble because i ask this question. I am a huge fan of FM Series…but why are so many threads locked? I read them and they seem to bring up good questions about game play, but I keep seeing them getting locked and deleted? I hope this does not happen to this thread, its a genuine question, and I don’t want to get in trouble with FORZA People…buy why lock and delete people who are bringing up good questions and concerns about the game? Does anyone have a good answer without banning me for asking?

I think if you read the last post on all locked threads the moderator explains why he is locking the thread… Use common sense and it wont get locked.

There are several simple rules on the site which folks either choose to ignore or are not taking the time to read.

Most of the reason threads are locked are either:

  1. Someone has created a very similar thread to another or several that have already been created, and it makes the forums a mess having many threads of the same thing out there.
  2. Someone has made a thread that is a complaint, ‘wishlist’ item, or known issue, and there are several places designated for posting those already and again, another thread was needlessly created.
  3. Someone has taken a topic and and twitsted into a complaint thread, ‘wish list’ thread, or something so far off topic the meaning of the OP was lost.
  4. Someone has created a thread talking about something forbidden, like bans, or naming and shaming other players.

All of these are the primary reasons and all of them are clearly stated in the rulse and TOS or are common sense items.
There are plenty of places for wish listing, T10 Clearly has stated those are the areas that are read, and where input should be placed to be considered.
There are places for issues and problems as well, again, those are the areas that are going to get read and considered.
The Moderators try and shepheard the forums and threads so its less chaotic and topics, which already to not have a designated area to be placed or discussed, can be here, read and commented on.

And yet if the thread is positive or full of praise, it doesn’t matter if it is a duplicate, or goes off topic, suddenly the need to declutter the forum isn’t a big deal.

No the real rules are keep your posts full of praise and you are fine. If you have a problem post it in support or a wishlist thread where it will never be responded to or looked at, and keep the forums free of any criticism.

I strongly, but respectfully disagree.
You will find a lot of theads like that are merged, because its likely we do not need 20 'Thanks for the Free Infinity Concept Car T10" Threads

As mentioned above:
It has been stated, that those are the threads Turn10 look at, spread sheet the data and review. Brian Ekberg said it himself.
Turn10 is not going to search though everythead, that has been highjacked, into a whinig complaining fest, (which had nothing to do with the OP) looking for information, nor are they going to search though 50 pages of general forum talk, looking for data to improve features or add content or address issues.

Those are the places that players were told to post those kinds of things, and those are the areas that are going to be looked at.
If you or others choose not to believe it, that is your right, but I can assure you, they are not looking in the genral forum for this kind of data, and it becomes nothing but people wanting to post their complaints just to hear their own voice at that point.

Everybody can see quite clearly what’s going on. This isn’t the first time a developer has taken this strategy with their forums. It’s to stifle discussion, plain and simple.

They don’t respond in the wishlist threads, nor have they ever been responsive to the suggestions. After release they game stays as is and non of the suggestions are ever implemented in the next release. So while I can’t know whether or not they look, or lie about looking, I do know it doesn’t matter one way or the other.

I mean look at the support forums. No responses from the developers after release. There are a couple from the beta/demo. So even there where I have to assume they look occasionally, there is nothing from them.

It’s clear to everybody how these forums are run, you simply are not allowed to discuss anything critical about this game. If you do it’s a wish, so it’s dumped in the mega thread, where no discussion can take place. So why have a general forum at all? What’s the point? You can defend it if you like but it’s not fooling anyone and it hasn’t for years.

Basically. Also, it’s not like these forums are bursting with life, there is no need to have people post their problems in the wishlist or support thread were their post is drowned in a sea of other posts.

you’ll probably find they arent deleted but merged with the other threads with the identical topic

Snowowl goes on paTROLL

then

They lock the threads because the truth hurts. Plain and simple.

If you have an opinion that differs from the fanboys or the forum gestapo then you will be censored.

If the developers really cared and wanted to get rid of the negativity on this forum all they have to do is listen to the people who play the game.

It’s that simple.

Swallow your pride and make the necessary changes.

Turn10 has the ability and the resources to make the perfect game but for some reason THEY CHOOSE NOT TO.

The wish lists are a stupid waste of time.

I respectfully disagree.
The only thing censored are lauguage that is against TOS, profanity, and naming and shaming, which is also against TOS.
Frankly if one can not make a point with out resorting to profanity, then one does not deserve posting rights.

As to your other points, if you read above, those are the avenues in which the T10 Staff asked those points be listed in, and those are the areas where data is mined.
That is the area they are going to ‘listen’ to, and those are the people that are going to ‘listen to’ its that simple, to use your own words.

Must of missed this post, but that’s fine they want suggestions in that thread. I mean that’s great, good idea, now what’s the point of not allowing it to also be discussed elsewhere? There isn’t a point, unless you are actively trying to remove negative feedback. It’s self evident. Again nobody buys it.

The whole entire “afraid to be offended” world needs to get over itself and it’s TOS…

As for Forza 6
Meh… Actions speak louder than words.

If Turn10 was truly listening we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

They can SAY they read the wish lists but based on the actual game I’d call them all liars.

Couldn’t agree with you more! Maybe it’s an American cultural thing to keep everything negative hushed and under wraps, but I’m from a country where if you’re unhappy you stand up and tell people, loudly! And sometimes burn cars in the street. Not that it’s acceptable, but that’s what happens when people get ignored and their voices trampled on.

Now that’s funny! You do realise you’re talking about a video game? Do you think you’ll be able to choose the cars you burn?

FALSE information. Forum moderators lock threads, not I.

I suggest you read

The less threads that are open, the less work the mods have to do.

Simple.
