Some of you love the game and want to post about what it is you love about the game and that’s great. Some of you are disappointed in the game and want to post about what you think is wrong with the game and that’s fine too. This is only natural and we’re happy to have people from both camps post here on the forums to share their opinions with one another so long as they do so in a civil and respectful fashion.
Some of you, however, insist on trolling and posting repeatedly at members with opposing viewpoints about how wrong they are in their subjective opinions about their own level of enjoyment of a relatively inexpensive luxury/entertainment item. It is well past time that that sort of thing stop immediately on these forums.
In addition to the car/track/feature wishlists we have always had for requests, we now, for the first time in seven years, have a dedicated support forum where you are absolutely encouraged to post any and all issues you have with the game. Please use it, that’s why it exists. What needs to stop now are those of you that insist on trolling and posting your complaints in every thread imaginable, regardless of the subject or intent of the thread. This is no longer the place for you to grind your axe.
The other side of that coin are those of you that enjoy the game and insist on telling those that don’t that they’re wrong to have a different opinion. Not all of us enjoy the same things and your enjoyment of what you like should not be in any way contingent on someone else liking or not liking the same things you do. If you see someone posting about a negative experience they’re having with the game and you can offer advice that helps them, that’s perfect and precisely the sort of thing we like to see on the forums. If all you have to offer is telling them they’re doing it wrong or don’t know what they’re talking about, that’s not helping anyone at all.
Forza is a video game. It’s a relatively inexpensive luxury entertainment item that should be purchased with disccretionary income. No one’s liffe hangs in the balance and no one’s livelihood is put in jeopardy as a result of the game. It certainly shouldn’t be the cause of such animosity and hostility. Let’s try to keep things in perspective and make a better effort to be understanding and nice to one another.
(Please, don’t anyone mention to Dragnet that there might exist people in the world that do not like Motorhead. The future of Western Civilization would be put in immediate peril.)
Its called people having a different view. We the buyers of the game can express our likes and dislikes its called a free speech. Every thread ive seen i havent personally seen any trolling. All ive seen are people arguing their views, what harm is that?
We have all bought the game so why cant we express our feelings towards it.
To me it seems you mods dont like the negativity and lock and remove threads you and t10 dont like.
This is the first time ive seen this forum like it, so what does that say??
Instead of locking and removing threads you dont like maybe produce it to t10 and then that way they might actually care about their customer feedback instead of promoting off our revenue…
I must say I agree very much with OP, that there is alot of trolling in here. When you know that there is 30+ threads about Drivatars and you go make another thread, thats for sure trolling seeing its posted just for the attempt to get attention. People starting new threads about things that already is discussed when there is a searchfunction, are either are lazy or in lack of attention and can also be called unnecessery trolling.
When OP say there is alot of trolling in this forum, and you claim you havent seen any, cant you see that you actually making that argument just for the sake of argument?, and therefore actually is part of the problem. That there is trolling in a big scale in this forum is not a secret!
There is no such thing here. This forum and every other you agree to a terms of service on doesn’t abide by some countries Constitution. When you clicked okay to sign up here, when you clicked it for Xbox Live, when you click it for anything you forfeit any freedom of speech. You have no rights here nor anywhere else on the internet. Stop it with that nonsense.
hier?? some times both are the same thing in refrence to “If you see someone posting about a negative experience they’re having with the game and you can offer advice that helps them, that’s perfect and precisely the sort of thing we like to see on the forums. If all you have to offer is telling them they’re doing it wrong or don’t know what they’re talking about, that’s not helping anyone at all.”
someone was posting about very inconsistent ai, and how it was unfair to not even give him a chance in a race. it couldn’t be his driving because sometimes he won easily, he could even beat higher difficulties. and other times he has no chance. that sounded very familiar to me because i too tried finding the perfect tune that won on every track. for me a tine i can win with at prague is last place at top gear. what wins at old lemans is last place at dubai. it wasn’t the ai was suddenly that much better, its that the tune / car the ai was useing was that much better on that track. and i told him to get a real tune, explained that auto upgrade just adds parts to the car, it doesn’t then adjust the parts settings like a real tune does. i had to tell him he was looking at the wrong thing, the ai, to give him advice to help him. to tell him to work on the tune, not the ai. i’m betting he tries different tunes for the trackss hee has no chance at and suddenly does much better, that suddenly the ai wont seem so overpowered.
i wasn’t insulting but i did tell him his approch was totally wrong, that it couldn’t be fixed where he was looking to fix it, that he had to look elsewhere. its like those people that asked for alternate lines at the end of the old lemas straight to get the p1 achievement in fm5. you cant take alternate lines at the end of the straight, you had to look for alternate lines getting onto the straight at a higher speed to begin with.
I hope this was not from the thread called " own engine sound too low " interestingly enough a few hours before you wrote this I just gave the Mederators a big compliment in that thread about letting a, let’s just say a not the best of Turn 10 thread going for 14 pages. I post fairly frequently and on occasion mention a thread in another one and sincerely hope it was not I that your talking about. If so I was not attempting to troll.
Rdo, helping each other get better and enjoy the game is the ideal goal. There’s no harm in pointing out an error so long as you’re willing to help offer a solution or suggestion. Those of us that have been here a long time have a lot we can share with the newer folks and we should be happy to share as doing so helps them get better and that in turn helps us get better, helps the game get better and helps our community get better.
I’ve been around racing my entire life, the real deal and now sims, and there is one thing that is a guarantee when you bring these type of people together and that is you will have differences of opinion and nothing is going to change that. it’s as old as the automobioe itself
I really like this game t10 did a hell of a job this is what fm5 should have been. This game could be better with a few tweaks I’m sure they are working on

I think the mod team do a good job of keeping things civil all things considered. Even Dragnet (Despite his poor musical tas… Oh yeah, don’t mention that) LOL
@Heironymus Maybe a change of tack for a few weeks? Change the ban hammer for the “pink with sparkles, tickle feather”? LOL
coast i’m betting you aren’t a kid anymore. you’re older. younger people dont know message boards, they know phone stuff like facebook and twitter. yes many new threads are complaints, and yes the same thing gets asked over and over. but have you ever called ms support about forza? they tell you to come and ask here. on twitter you dont search to see if there is already a thread, you post your tweet. kids come in and post their post/complaint/question etc…they really dont know. my nephew was bragging about a group texting place he found, was astounded when i told him about the chatrooms msn, aol, just about everyone had back in the day. when you know…that most people really dont know be more understanding.

if you can answer their question or help them fine. if you cant thats fine too, its an act of kindness not your job. there is no rule saying you even have to read a thread or post. if you dont want to read yet another thread simple, just dont click on it. it clogs up the forum and makes it hard to find new stuff? no problem, there is a search right there at the top of the page. and stuff stays on the front page for a full day already. in fm5 the last reply to threads on page one are “about a month ago”. the board is not like a stock ticker flying by so fast you might miss something. if you dont want to read something…simply dont. thats what i do. there are posters that constantly get on your nerves? the last line under every avatar on every post is “block users posts” click it and their posts wont even appear on your screen again until you select to unblock them.
This is a game. Its made for us to have fun, and Im guessing both you and me can drive 99% of the cars in this game without problems. And I guess that 99% of people bought this game can play and enjoy without any issues. I enjoy online even though sometimes I get rammed, but thats not Turn10 fault. I enjoy the amount of cars. I enjoy the amount of tracks. I love the new interface in rivals. I enjoy the painting and tuning. I enjoy sharing my tunes and maybe help a fellow Forzist in this forums, but there is to much trolling and nagging over nothing here IMO. If one Drivatar rockets away from field, its not the end of the world and so on…
I remember WSD had to edit one of my posts once, and I do admit to shooting at trolls on occasion, but I do try to be respectful. That being said, I don’t see anything wrong with a tounge-in-cheeck or snarky comment if someone’s being a moron, just don’t be too mean.
(y’all could loosen up on the language police thing though. It’s stricter than daytime network TV up in here, lol!)
Carry on, mods.
Edit: Oh, Mötorhead is awesome. Just call me Snaggletooth. (that’s for Dragnet)
