Letter: Dear Mr. Greenawalt, Esaki, Caveizel, and other seniors

Please start taking customer feedback a little more seriously.

Please address the game’s visual glitches, inconsistencies, and shortcomings - ALL highlighted in multiple threads and collecting votes as we speak.

Please take the car sound improvement process more seriously and start implementing some serious changes; I don’t want to use chase view all the time and want to dive into cockpit and bumper from time to time but the cars sound small, shrill, and whiny as if coming from mono radio speakers - ALL issues highlighted in multiple car specific threads and collecting votes as we speak.

Please get rid of FOMO once and for all - As per community feedback.

Please make the game’s loading smooth and consistent - No need for examples, many threads highligting individual issues, including the ever annoying stuck on calculating when changing fuel level.

Please continue to improve the individual track environments - Some have been improved while the others sorely need it.

Please listen to the feedback on pad steering - Cars feel understeery and unresponsive because there’s a hidden filter system on the pad that prevents the player from pushing the car too hard, it’s silly, sorry to say.

Is Dan, Chris, and Mike, along with the others reading all the community feedback? I know you guys are senior execs with a lot going on, but come on - we have have supported Forza from day one. We have put up with its issues and still supported it.

Make Forza truly LOOK, SOUND, and FEEL like a Series X title. Take it off Gamepass and give it the love it deserves.

Almost a year into it and I’ve lost nearly all interest in the game.

Directly, probably not.

Normally leadership tends to get reports from community/comms team, but this varies based on the publisher and game.

In the direct form of this forum, Reddit or Discord very likely not.
I assume community feedback passes at least 4 hands before reaching them in a pre-filtered, focused report.
It’s common at senior management level.

The quarterly update is the result of this process - if it is done by them at all and not by lower employees and they just put their names under it.

in part they are taking fb more seriously by starting forza insiders. is it too little too late? or because FM is coming up short even a year on? not sure yet as the insider program is too new. i’m holding out hope as this is my go to game. i want to see it succeed.

i also dont want what happened to FM7. just as it got really good (after 19 months of support and baiting FRR for a year for it to only be in a beta lobby) they chose to tuck tail and run. no expansions no anything. [sidenote: we did get a Porsche GT4 racecar out of no where. thx but where is it in the current FM???]

this is a legacy flagship exclusive game for XB and should be better respected and supported. too much time has passed since FM7 to have this version be so compromised in performance and offerings. lastly, console racing game competition is growing stronger with iracing nascar and AC Evo coming soon and in current form FM falls unfortunately short of expectations.

I think there are proabably 30 people working for T10, and probably 5 of them actaully work on the game. The other 25 are probably watching those 5 work.

What youre asking for is an entirely new game. This game is almost a year old, ill hang out on a limb here and say for the most part any issues that remain will in fact remain. Fomo isnt going anywhere as its the only thing that fullfills their claim that this is a game as a service.

The controller filter, is just that a filter, many games have it because controller inputs arent equal to a steering wheel. Many feel as though forza has the best controller implementation in the business and i tend to agree. The cars do understeer, but this can largely eliminated by tuning.

Car models are dated and barring replacements which apparently cant be done, as they would have to erase all times and tunes of the original and they dont want to do that. Sounds can be changed and theyve done it in the past as well as in this game, but there are hundreds of cars with likely hundreds of incorrect sounds, i dont see them redoing every car.

At a certain point, just like with any other game you have to start accepting it for what it is. The time for a major change has come and gone, they had 4-7 years inlcuding this past year and this where we’re at.

Theyve only committed to continue developing for one more year. Theyve already laid out a few things in the coming months, that leaves less than a year for whatever else. I think its time to be a little realistic as to what this game is going to be, its certainly not going to last a generation its barely made it a year.

He’s the head of the studio now, the only place you’ll see him is in the credits.

roles can change even after release

Do you think he’d give that promotion up to be a creative director again? Dan was for the most part called the studio creative director, there have been many other people involved making these games with various titles. Bill Giese was fm7s lead creative director and Chris Esaki is this games lead creative director.

I always liked Dan, he started out as a game tester and worked his way up. But if he is going to be given credit for forzas success, he no doubt needs to take responsibility for its failures as well. He is a part of the team that delivered this game to the players and found it acceptable enough not to apologize at any point after release.

Fm1-fm4 was delivered by a team of people that obviously had a passion for what they were doing, that team is no longer at turn 10. Things changed, turn 10 became more corporate, Dan became more corporate and forza became more corporate. I was hoping this reboot was going to change that, but instead it doubled down on that philosophy and its highly likely its led to its demise.

If all you guys saying is true and they are not supporting it beyond another year, then time to move on.

I’ll always be grateful for the memories on the x360 and Xbox one. Almost in tears right now. Best virtual driving years of my life. Happy days.

Time to look forward to AC Evo and the next Dirt Rally game. Also eagerly anticipating more news on PCARS 3. I think AC Evo in particular will blow everything out of the water in terms of physics, car audio and even visuals this time. Hopefully, it will be a faithful port of the pc version and Microsoft won’t force them to water it down for console or anything.

The guys at Kunos are truly truly passionate about cars, racing, and Motorsport. They obsess over every little detail as if they were developing the game right out of a pitstop and racetrack!

Wish T10 were like that.

Corporate greed ultimately gets most of them I think. No escape.

If you enjoy playing this then keep playing. Ac evo has no console release date, as of now its pc only. Pcars is dead, Project Motor Racing is using the physics from farming simulator with a target release in 2025, what could go wrong.

Kunos does have passion, but that passion rarely launches smoothly. It took AC and ACC years before their passion could be realized, i personally expect the same for Evo.

I want the cars to at least sound right as they are 100% a part of the experience while you’re driving. For the other issues, I can wait as long as required.

Drove the reward car for the mid engine series, the '23 Artura? Sounds nicely loud and menacing. Nailed the cockpit sound too, it’s not flat, hollow or anything like that. Great dynamic range in all views.

THAT is the level of sound quality I expect from all road cars.

Came out in 2020, patches stopped in 2021

That’s EA SPORTS WRC

Oh I meant 4, that was a typo.

No I mean possibly the next Codies only game. Or are they stuck with EA now?

Codemasters is owned by EA.

Project CARS “4” was cancelled last year.

Codemasters continue to work on F1 and WRC.

Yikes…

And boo friggity hoo :sweat_smile::neutral_face:

Ac evo will most likely have great sounds. The artura does sound good, turn 10 got the guy back that used to do sounds but then went to gran turismo and helped them improve over there, so sounds should improve.
