So wet conditions have been bugging me for a while and now enough I finally want to post about it.
Wet conditions are too simplified and not immersive.
They seem to be implemented just as a generic negative grip modifer.
It’s already widely noted how puddles/aquaplaning has not been implemented, even in the heaviest wet conditions (I encourage you to vote here: Rain puddles mechanics) and I’d really like them to bring them back, but in a more realistic fashion (also note games like WRC Generations where puddle size changes with the severity of rain as well).
But also, wet conditions don’t have any impact on curbs. IRL it is a real gamble with drivers trying to test whether it is safe to use them, and in properly wet conditions can send them spinning. In Forza, it doesn’t matter if there is a thunderstorm, you can continue to take full on GT driving lines using all the curbs and then some without risk or fear.
And the graphical representation of rain is awful. It may be a 2D effect instead of 3D due to system limitations, but the rain on the windshield is silly. Rain drops just flicker on and off and have no interaction with the wipers.
Put it on drizzle and watch the drops hit and evaporate before the wiper even gets to them.
What issues do you have with the implementation of wet weather?
The latest blog post says the devs want feedback on what we want, so here’s something for them to consider.
That’s the one for me. Watching races, you see how they have to “square” corners and pick different lines to find the grip, no such necessity in FM. A shame because it could be a much more challenging scenario that all makes us better, especially now that the track rubbers in.

Yes!
Also, can’t believe I forgot to mention dry lines in intermediate conditions as well.
The need to explore and take different lines as conditions allow has been completely missed.
Yep and it would bring a whole new level to race strategies, like driving away from the drying line to make your wet tyres last. As of right now I don’t know that it would be possible or have any impact on featured multiplayer races with random weather.
I’d have to run tests in free play.
As mentioned in the blog, please put these ideas in the Suggestions Hub where we’re monitoring them for voting in each idea individually:
We’re also eager to hear your ideas for the cars, tracks and features you would like to see in future Forza Motorsport updates. Those can be posted to our Suggestions Hub on the forums, where you can also upvote existing topics shared by the community. Many of the updates released in 2024 were directly inspired by player input, so please keep the feedback coming!
Drawing users here to combine various ideas has the potential to lose focus on the Suggestions Hub. We want to capture that feedback, but the best way to ask for changes is in the SHUB.
