Actually im afraid the new system will only penalize people trying to get away from trollers and idiots.
Trolls will hve a fielday with this.
Negative points for coming in last? That will make things interesting at the back of the pack.
Yay, some content!!! i must say it has been a bit sparse so far.
looking forward to this quite a lot.
By the sounds of it they forgot to write up the negative points payout part, hopping that penalties are tied to that
Questions:
1: How is your initial Band/Rank determined for each Season?
2: Will your Rank/Band at the end of a Season carry over to the next one?
3: Is there a League Leaderboard?
4: Are there time penalties for people who cut corners or crash into other players?
5: How are starting positions determined in each race?
6: Will League Hoppers be open 24 hours a day?
7: Are Prize Cars awarded for participation or promotion to a higher Band?
8: At what Bands are various assists disabled?
9: Can players be matched up across Bands? (A âGrassroots 1â in a lobby with âEnthusiast 5sâ etc.)
10: Will opponent rankings be visible in races, in Lobbies or both?
Some great question PT.
The window were always closed between 5-9 pm which EST which is the bulk of my time. But if I lived in Europe, I could play right through. It gave some a huge a certain players.
The should more about winning than grinding.
I can win 12 straight races. But somebody can come in 12th 25 races and be 1200 points ahead( full lobby) or more depending on rank bouns.
So no penalty for trolling, dirty driving, or corner cutting. But you will get penalised if you dont want to deal with there crap.
This.
Is this time gated again?
Bonus question: Why does T10 like gates so much?
Still no answers for these, hopefully I can figure out some of them tonight.
Good set of questions.
My questions is, if there are penalties and a ranking systemâŚwhy canât we have it in non-league racing.
Answered Below:
Questions:
1: How is your initial Band/Rank determined for each Season?
[Triton â Everyone starts at 0pts.]2: Will your Rank/Band at the end of a Season carry over to the next one?
[Triton â Everyone carries their points forward, when they start a new season, there is a slight decay to their points. In most cases this might only drop a player a Rank or two.]3: Is there a League Leaderboard?
[Triton â No, players are governed by their Band and Rank. Rewards are given out based on this as well. In FM6, the leaderboard was to only give out a % of credit payout. This no longer applies.]4: Are there time penalties for people who cut corners or crash into other players?
[Triton â Not currently, but vote to kick has been enabled for Leagues for the 1st time as well as having active Marshals.]5: How are starting positions determined in each race?
[Triton â All Events should be setup with Bestlap grid ordering. If you havenât raced in the lobby yet, you will be randomly assigned a grid spot after the prior players.]6: Will League Hoppers be open 24 hours a day?
[Triton â Not at this time. We still want players to race at key times. This helps regulate the amount of play. We will start with smaller windows until there is enough players to make them wider.]7: Are Prize Cars awarded for participation or promotion to a higher Band?
[Triton â While possible, no. Cars are currently reserved for end of Season/Series rewards. Band up and Rank up rewards are currently credits. You can only earn these 1 time per season.]8: At what Bands are various assists disabled?
[Triton â Because players can now be moved after a race to a new Band and new lobby, each event has itâs own settings that allows any Band to participate currently. We will try to offer options for everyone so that you can play what fits you. That said, all Events start with a minimum of ABSOn, Steering Normal, Automatic and FrictionAssist Forced Off no matter the Band or Rank.9: Can players be matched up across Bands? (A âGrassroots 1â in a lobby with âEnthusiast 5sâ etc.)
[Triton â No cross Band matchmaking]10: Will opponent rankings be visible in races, in Lobbies or both?
[Triton â Yes, you will know their Rank but you wonât know their exact points]
- Have leagues been thoroughly tested and will they work? Forgive my cynicism, but far simpler things have failed. I really hope these are as good as theyâre made out to be, I loved leagues in FM6.
- Is it all based on total points again or average per race? In F6 it was basically skewed towards how long/much you could play rather than how well you did.

100% agree. That ruined Forza 6 leagues for me.
Hopefuly,
If they have exclusive rewards for leagues, hopefully the hoppers will be open longer, otherwise a LOT of people will be missing out on those cars. I can see the reason for them having exclusive cars, to encourage people to race each other in MP and generate interest in league play; however, with the current state of MP it may not work out so well for some people.
On the other hand, the lower ranks may end up with the wreckers just wrecking themselves.
Iâll participate in leagues at least this season, just for the cars, but I hope they may be come available other ways just in case I a) suck, b) get crashed out so much it wonât matter or c) lose interest.
I didnât do any league racing in 6 and wasnât planning on doing it in FM7 either, but the Jag is one of the cars I love to drive.
It does suck for people that donât have Xbox Live Gold though not being able to get these cars, currently.

If you need to lock content behind certain things just to get people to use those things, then perhaps that thing isnât very enjoyable and you should re-evaluate that thing?

There seems to be quite a few people who want the leagues and I have no problem with their returning. What I am not quite happy with is using locked cars as incentives, especially for those of us trying to get the
âown 700 carsâ achievement.

Or maybe they are just trying to increase participation. Plenty of people participated and enjoyed leagues in FM6 from the sounds of it, so why not entice more people to join and expand the community.

Perhaps if multiplayer racing was more enjoyable, they wouldnât need to?

You know with racing gear in this game now, I thought to myself, FINALLY, no more locked carsâŚnope of course not. Many folks donât care for multiplayer stuff, so Turn 10 could simply offer credits, âexclusiveâ GEAR or even paints, not locked âexclusiveâ cars.
